Fox Digs Up Another Imprisoned American - To Use Against Hillary Clinton

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on December 21, 2012 · Flag

Just as I noted that Fox News has been using the case of Jon Hammar, imprisoned in Mexico on gun charges, as an excuse to attack the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton in particular, Sean Hannity trotted out a new case Wednesday night (12/19/12). This one involves an American pastor imprisoned in Iran. I think we can expect to hear a lot more about this one since it has the "benefit" of including Iran and a Christian martyr. Merry Christmas, indeedy!

Sean Hannity was joined in this particular cause by his partner-in-impeachment, Jay Sekulow.

Hannity wasted no time using the story to attack Obama. In his introduction, he asked, "Where's the Obama administration, where's the U.N.? Where's the State Department?"

Sekulow likewise got right down to saying, "We have not had State Department help right now." Later, he added, "The Obama administration needs to come out publicly."

Just a coincidence that Fox is digging up these cases all of a sudden, now that Hillary Clinton looks to be the Democratic nominee in 2016?

Jeez, forgive the auto correct mess below. It should read, “…and do hard investigative research…”

Digs up? These stories are not hard to find. You make it sound as though fox had to search high and low and do hard in estimating research to find this story. BTW, the family of the Marine imprisoned in Mexico has expressed great gratitude towards Bill O’Reilly for the attention he brought to the case that eventually led to his release. I am also sure the family of the pastor imprisoned in Iran are grateful as well for the attention the case is getting.

Yesterday, Congressman Duncan D. Hunter (R-CA 52nd) issued this statement:

Washington, D.C. — Today, Representative Duncan Hunter, a Marine combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, called for a travel boycott of Mexico until Jon Hammar, a U.S. citizen and former Marine, is released from prison.

“I’m calling on all Americans to boycott travel to Mexico until U.S. citizen and Marine combat veteran Jon Hammar is released,” said Representative Hunter. “I’m also prepared—along with several of my colleagues—to go to Mexico and ask for his immediate release.

“We need to know that the State Department is doing everything it can to secure his release. So far, I haven’t seen the aggressiveness that’s necessary and expected under the circumstances.

“Getting this Marine out of prison and home to his family must be a priority. Marines don’t leave each other behind and I’m willing to do whatever I can to see that he comes home safely.”

Lemme get this straight:

In one breath, he calls for a boycott of Mexico . . . and, in the next, announces he’s prepared to go to the same country he just called for a boycott of.

Proof the proverbial apple doesn’t fall far from the tree; Duncan D. has inherited his father (Duncan L. “Duck’n Cover” Hunter’s) gift for political doublespeak.

ROFL — Dunk should ask BillO how that boycott of France went . . .

@the Mike: Bingo- Bush had something like 11 embassy attacks under his watch, and countless American civilians abducted.

I never once during that time heard Fox News act like it was the responsibility of the President and the Sec. of State to take a personal interest in every last captive/incident, nor did I ever hear them act like the events happening were cause for impeachment.

Then again, Dick Cheney shot a guy in the face, and they attacked the victim for getting in the way of the bullets until Cheney was forgiven. They didn’t even wait for him to say whether or not he felt like it was an accident- they started the attack, and called it off when their guy was safe.

Evil dark-skinned Muslims, virtuous white-skinned Christians and smearing one of the Clintons. A trifecta of hate for KKKlannity and Christofascist Sekulow.

And, OT — as Thx4 Fish posted yesterday, there was another American imprisoned in Mexico, recently released, for inadvertently breaking the law: he made a wrong turn while transporting ammunition . . . http://www.elpasotimes.com/ci_22053899/trucker-released-from-mexican-prison-arrives-el-paso?IADID=Search-www.elpasotimes.com-www.elpasotimes.com

Never heard Hannity ask where the State Dept. was or heard BillO threaten the Mexican gov’t then.

I wonder if the fact that the arrested trucker had a “mooslem-sounding” name {Jabin Akeem Bogan}, or that he African American had anything to do with it?

NAAAAAAAH, can’t be . . .

Well, if that’s their reason, they’re wasting their time:

Hillary Clinton downplays possible run for U.S. president in 2016

Reuters – Wed, Dec 12, 2012

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Outgoing U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who came tantalizingly close to winning the Democratic presidential nomination four years ago, played down the notion she would run again for the White House in 2016 in comments aired on Wednesday.

Asked during an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters whether she would run for president in 2016, Clinton said: “I’ve said I really don’t believe that that’s something I will do again. I am so grateful I had the experience of doing it before.”

“It sounds so simple, but I’ve been, as you know, at the highest levels of American and now international activities for 20 years, and I just thought it was time to take a step off … maybe do some reading and writing and speaking and teaching,” Clinton told ABC.

But, hey, Fox; feel free to chase that ball of yarn for the next four years — until Kerry, Boxer, Vilsack, Kaine, or Sebelius takes the nomination and then the presidency . . .

Patrick, I wouldn’t be surprised if Joshua is the living embodiment of the “infinite monkey theorem.” Sure, the monkey types out a string of words but doesn’t have any understanding of what he’s typed.

I don’t think she’ll run. I think Obama took all her gas with his relentless attacks in 2008.
