Fox's Jarrett Suggests Poor Are Sitting Around Eating Bonbons At Taxpayer Expense

Posted by Ellen · September 18, 2013 2:26 PM · 4 reactions

On yesterday’s Happening Now, co-host Greg Jarrett joined Fox News' war on the poor when he cited misleading data to suggest that poor people are living high on the hog, saying, “Sitting on the couch eating bonbons is now more financially lucrative” than working.

Cavuto Mocks Concerns Sequester Cuts May Have Hindered Security At D.C. Navy Yard

Posted by Brian · September 18, 2013 9:00 AM · 1 reaction

Fox News’ own Jennifer Griffin yesterday reported that a Pentagon Inspector General’s investigation found that sequester budget cuts may have harmed security at Naval installations. “It certainly is raising a lot of questions about whether these budget cuts may have led to more lax security at places like the (Washington, D.C.) Navy Yard,” Griffin said. She was referring, of course, to questions surrounding how gunman Aaron Alexis was able to enter the Navy Yard and kill 12 people. But Neil Cavuto either missed that report or ignored it as he accused Democrats of shirking responsibility for the shootings – as if it were a foregone conclusion that the rampage was really the fault of President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and/or House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Hannity Used D.C. Navy Yard Shooting To Attack President Obama

Posted by Ellen · September 18, 2013 12:03 AM · 4 reactions

As sure as the sun rises in the east, Sean Hannity found ways to use the D.C. Navy Yard shooting to malign President Obama. And as sure as the sun sets in the west, Hannity played the victim card as camouflage for his attack. Unfortunately, for him and Karl Rove, the smear was handily thwarted and reframed by Juan Williams

Hannity The Big Loser Of FNC's Prime Time Shuffle

Posted by Ellen · September 17, 2013 7:03 PM · 7 reactions

Sean Hannity says he’s happy being bumped back an hour – to 10 PM ET - in Fox News’ prime time lineup but other than his supposed good cheer over being able to spend more time with his family, it’s hard to see anything other than ominous signs for him. And maybe for Roger Ailes' helmsmanship of Fox News Channel, too.

Fox & Friends Gushes Over 'Super-hero" GOP Florida AG, Pam Bondi

Fox___Friends_New_II.jpg

Yesterday, the gang on the new curvy couch began their week of celebrating political rising stars by interviewing the GOP Oklahoma House Speaker, TW Shannon. As I reported, the interview allowed the fetid Fiends Friends to promote a positive data point about the state while ignoring the negatives. It was also a platform for Shannon to articulate right wing talking points which were validated by the pals. The same format was followed, this morning, in an interview with "rising star," Florida Attorney General, Pam Bondi who recently got some national attention when her office rescheduled an execution because it interfered with a Bondi fundraiser. But according to Fox & Friends, who gushed over Bondi back in July, Bondi is just awesome

Fox Nation Reacts To D.C. Navy Yard Shooting With Racist Hate

Posted by Ellen · September 16, 2013 11:28 PM · 10 reactions

Once again, Fox Nation has not lived up to its stated mission of civility, respect and unity. And that's putting it mildly. Tonight's cesspool of hate comes on a thread about the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard shooting - especially with regard to the dead suspect's race. Those "civil, tolerant" readers have not only found that a good excuse to make racist attacks on other African Americans but to have their hatred spill over to liberals and, of course, President Obama. U. S. A.!

Fox News' Pro-Gun Agenda Already In Use With D.C. Navy Yard Shooting Coverage

Posted by Ellen · September 16, 2013 4:10 PM · 17 reactions

Fox News joined its right-wing BFF's in jumping at suggesting that the mass shooting could have been averted or ameliorated had the workers there been allowed to carry guns.

Todd Starnes Insults Government Workers

Posted by Priscilla · September 16, 2013 3:03 PM · 8 reactions

Todd Starnes might be full to bursting with love for Jesus; but he sure does have a lot of unChristian hatred for lots of folks. We know that he's not fond of liberals, minorities, and gays but who knew that government workers are on his lengthy shit list. Earlier this month, poor Toddles got upset with a postal worker and tweeted that the perceived malfeasance was typical of all government workers.

Fox & Friends Features GOP "Rising Political Star"

Posted by Priscilla · September 16, 2013 1:33 PM · 7 reactions

This week, Fox & Friends will be featuring "rising political stars." Today, they interviewed the Oklahoma GOP House Speaker. While the conversation wasn't noteworthy, it was standard Fox & Friends propaganda pablum. It started with a glowing statistic from new Fox Friend, Elizabeth Hasslebeck, which was then validated by Rep. TW Shannon who proceeded to articulate conservative talking points which were validated by the Friends. The interview underscored, once again, why Fox viewers are so uninformed because, once again, the Friends made no effort to provide information which might have sullied Shannon's script. BTW Shannon just happens to be both African-American and native-American. Who says that the GOP isn't a big tent!
