This week, Fox & Friends will be featuring "rising political stars." Today, they interviewed the Oklahoma GOP House Speaker. While the conversation wasn't noteworthy, it was standard Fox & Friends propaganda pablum. It started with a glowing statistic from new Fox Friend, Elizabeth Hasslebeck, which was then validated by Rep. TW Shannon who proceeded to articulate conservative talking points which were validated by the Friends. The interview underscored, once again, why Fox viewers are so uninformed because, once again, the Friends made no effort to provide information which might have sullied Shannon's script. BTW Shannon just happens to be both African-American and native-American. Who says that the GOP isn't a big tent!
After the introduction, lil Liz informed us that Oklahoma has one of the lowest unemployment rates. What she didn't say was that it's the 10th poorest state with poverty at a 10 year high. Not mentioned was the fact that it's 7th from the bottom in the percentage of those without health insurance. Keeping with the right wing propaganda "script," she asked him to talk about his belief that "federal invasion and confusion is the number one threat to things like the economy, family, whatever." He responded that "we can't wait for the federal government to lead" and "reform will happen in the halls of state government.
Kilmeade asked Shannon about his views on race. Shannon said that while progress has been made, there is still a long way to go. He kicked into propaganda mode with the assertion that "conservative principals are what leads to prosperity." He said people need to "get past getting addicted to government" by the introduction of "free market principals." When he said that the GOP needs to promote "principals of responsibility," Doocy said "it's solid."
What viewers weren't told was that Shannon introduced legislation that takes money from TANF public assistance to fund a "public service campaign" to promote marriage. Under his speakership, "the House passed numerous bills catering to fringe elements by focusing on the United Nations' Agenda 21, a hobgoblin of conspiracy theorists, and calling for state nullification of federal law."
But he's a rising Republican star. Wonder if the Friends will interview any Democratic rising stars cuz Fox & Friends is fair and balanced. Ya think!
And one by one at a rate of one per week?
If Shannon comes to a similar realization, his choices will be to become a democrat or accept this is as far as he’s getting, as well.
We tried to get the Real GOP Rising Star, Vladimir Putin, on show, but he told us he is “Syrously busy!”.
The aging Fox “News” hosts and anchors are slowly being replaced by younger hosts. These aging cafeteria Catholics can no longer pull the 25 to 54 demographics that advertisers desire.
It does not matter if you have a number 1 or 2 show. If advertisers refuse to sponsor that particular show, the network loses money.
A good example was Actor Glenn Beck. At one time his show was number 2 on this amateur network. But lack of advertisers ousted this crazy man from here.
