In a jaw-dropping segment of callousness, Fox News trotted out contributor Jonah Goldberg to attack Vice President Joe Biden’s statement about his task force looking to curb gun violence, “Even if what we do only saves one life, it makes sense.” 

A few nights ago on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart mocked Fox's ginned-up outrage over Al Gore's sale of Current TV to Al Jazeera. Stewart rightly nailed the "controversy" as Fox's "first boner of the year." He went on to say, "This won't be a four-hour erection, or will it?" That was funny and great enough. But then he penetrated to the core of the hypocrisy. 

Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa (D-HI) confronted Bill O’Reilly tonight about his offensive comments that it’s “shocking” that Hawaiians are liberal because Asians are “usually more industrious and hard-working.” O’Reilly contended that Hanabusa had only watched his remarks from an out-of-context Media Matters clip and, therefore, was unqualified to debate him on them. In reality, Media Matters’ clip included the full context of his remarks and there was nothing in the rest of the segment to alter the meaning.

All across the country, right-wingers are lining up behind a standard answer to the question: “Why are we against a ban on assault weapons”? And that answer is: civilians need assault weapons so they can defend themselves against tyranny. What tyranny? Well, they don’t really say. And though it sounds like a talking point from some militia survivalist bunker, even learned judges are arguing it, gentle reader. At least Fox's friendly judge, Andrew Napolitano, was arguing that point in a foxnews.com op-ed which was also posted on the Fox Nation.

On Monday’s Your World, (1/7/13), Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) got a warm welcome to discuss his threat to shut down the federal government to force spending cuts. The only challenge from Cavuto was on political grounds, not over any actual deleterious effects such a measure might have. Meanwhile, Cavuto spoke admiringly about Salmon’s “vinegar and fight.”

Apparently, Bill O’Reilly hasn’t found a new Miley Cyrus, Sandra Fluke, Dr. Tiller, Al Gore yet so he brought on hate monger extraordinaire Glenn Beck to spice up the now-familiar attacks. Gore, as you probably know by now, reportedly turned down Glenn Beck's offer to buy Gore's Current TV on ideological grounds – before making the supposedly heinous decision to sell to Al Jazeera. With a malicious grin, O’Reilly asked, “How do you process it, personally, when you’re more loathsome to Al Gore than guys who glorify Osama Bin Laden?” A hilarity of hate ensured.

Who better to finish off Fox News' Tuesday anti-choice propaganda blast at Planned Parenthood than Bill O'Reilly, an aging Catholic male who uses his show as a conduit for "pro-life" fanaticism and platform from which he engaged in a crusade against an abortion doctor who was later murdered by a "pro-life" fanatic? For his efforts in demonizing Dr. George Tiller, dubbed a "baby killer" by O'Reilly, Bill earned a "courage award" from the hate group, the FamilyResearchCenter. The wealthy O'Reilly is also vehemently opposed to Planned Parenthood, an organization providing health care for low income women. Despite Bill's prediction, Planned Parenthood hasn't been defunded; but the anti-choice lobby is indefatigable in its efforts to do so especially given the Planned Parenthood's 2012 level of government funding. Bill O'Reilly provided a happy ending to Fox's Tuesday lie-a-palooza with more of the same!

File this under “Some People Have A Lot Of Nerve.” During a lengthy interview with Sean Hannity last night, Birther Boy Donald Trump interrupted his tirade about President Obama’s disregard for the Constitution to invite him to play golf at a Trump golf course.

Apparently, some school brazenly tried to propagandize its students with a distributive algebra problem about distributing wealth. But have no fear, Fox-fan parents. Eric Bolling is uncovered and brought to light this indecency yesterday on The Five.

Fox News enemy of the week (or is it month?): Al Gore. Not counting President Obama, of course. But he's president. Gore, on the other hand, never will be. Still, the Gore smearing just goes on and on. Last night, Bill O'Reilly - who often decries hate speech from the left - couldn't have gone much lower as he and Geraldo Rivera joked about throwing chairs at Gore and then later countenanced Dennis Miller's fat jokes.
