Although America's Newsroom is officially part of the official Fox "news" block, its blatant promotion and validation of right wing talking points are straight out of official Fox "opinion" shows which are, according to the Fox brass, exempt from the "Fair & Balanced" part of Fox's official motto. And when Fox "opinion" starts the day with a right wing meme, America's Newsroom frequently follows up. Tuesday, Laura Ingraham appeared on Fox & Friends to advance the newest "pro-life" outrage over Planned Parenthood's revenues from taxpayers which, according to Ingraham, could be funding abortions - a violation of the Hyde Amendment. Later, alleged news host Martha MacCallum, on America's Newsroom, picked up on the meme during her interview with the right wing Jonah Goldberg who validated the offensive anti-choice lies. While Fox doesn't care about taxpayers' monies spent on wars, big energy, and tax breaks for business, the lesson here is that Planned Parenthood is ripping us off!
Obviously Fox "News" thinks that this topic is particularly newsworthy as it was heralded as a great, big, red throbbing "News Alert." As MacCallum cited Planned Parenthood's revenue, the chyron framed the message that Planned Parenthood is making big money off of taxpayers: "Planned Parenthood Receives $542 Million In Taxpayer Money From 2011 to 2012." Her co-host, Bill Hemmer took a page straight out of the anti-choice script as he commented about how this money was allocated "at the same time their abortion services increased while their cancer screenings and prevention services apparently dropped." MacCallum murmured hmmm and said that it had "gotten a lot of attention this morning." (No shit, Sherlock!)
Given that Planned Parenthood has been the target of vandals and it's doctor's the target of assassins, Goldberg used an unfortunate reference when he said that this report will put Planned Parenthood "back in the crosshairs of Washington." He praised Mitt Romney's "great line" about not wanting to "spend money on anything that I don't think is worth borrowing money from China for." MacCalllum said "right." (Wow, so Goldberg and MacCallum think that the reproductive health of American women is worthless?) He then LIED when he said that we are borrowing money "to pay for abortions." (Taxpayer money is not used for abortion) He so wasn't speaking for those who are pro-choice when he claimed that whether you're pro-life or pro-choice, "the idea that Planned Parenthood is anything other than an abortion chain is really misleading." He continued the lie: "This outfit is basically an abortion provider and they use these other things about women's health, mamograms, and all the rest as a cover to be, essentially, an abortion provider."
After he said that a lot of people don't think that government should "be in the business of paying for that," MacCallum cleverly lied about how Planned Parenthood says they provide mammograms in order for Goldberg to point out that they don't - but that they do perform lots of abortions. (Aha!) He claimed that although abortion services are 3%, those who "looked at the numbers," claim that 40% of their revenues are from abortions because they combine distribution of birth control with abortion services. (WTF?). He accused them of conducting "a numbers game" and repeated the accusation that it is mainly an abortion provider. MacCallum advanced the agitprop when she mentioned that Planned Parenthood's claim of having a good year is "because they got a ton of money from government, taxpayers." Goldberg said that the numbers of abortion are equal to the population of Cleveland (And that's relevant, how?) and "taxpayers paid for large chunks of it." He cited a GOP lawmaker's bill to defund Planned Parenthood, MacCallum and predicted that even though it's now "a sleeper issue," GOP Legislators will push to defund Planned Parenthood. MacCallum got all excited when she said that it could be part of the debt ceiling fight.
First of all, are these jokers frigging crazy? Don't they know that we just had an election which was decided, in part, by women who were offended by the GOP's position on women's bodies such as the awesomeness of giving birth to your rapist's child? Don't they know that past efforts to defund Planned Parenthood failed and that present efforts will have the same result, especially now that there are more Democratic senators? And Fox News thinks there's no war on women. Really?
Oh, wait- No, it isn’t:

Wallace sold you out back in March, ladies. This has nothing to do with your “religious freedom,” and the whole bandwagon about this just being a matter of ethics went out the window when you sided with Susan G. Komen’s little extortion campaign.
No, this is you showing what your souls went for- Everything you’re against is in your own health care plan, and things like qual pay, that you think is the end of the world? That’s in your contract. You decided that, since you still have it, you wanna play “fuck yours!” with the rest of us. Since I know you got people reading us, I’m gonna say this blunt:
If you want to keep your bullshit up, you go into Ailes’ office and tell him that you want your feminine health care, your insured contraception, your provision for emergency abortions, your maternity leave, and your mandatory raises revoked. You show that kind of commitment to losing it yourself, and I might pretend you’re worth taking seriously at some point.
Until you do, shut the fuck up.
