John McCain Smacks Down Brian Kilmeade’s Islamophobic Ignorance
John McCain appeared on Fox & Friends this morning where the hosts immediately questioned his conservative bona fides by saying he had just missed Laura Ingraham echoing “many Republicans” in saying that McCain is “flip-flopping” on his support for President Obama. And “She feels as though you’re bailing (Obama) out – a misguided, confused policy.” But McCain had the last laugh. (H/T Think Progress)

Finally, a real voice on behalf of working class people on Fox News! And on Labor Day! Mark Brenner, of Labor Notes, was not one of those mealy-mouthed Democrats who seem more interested in showing how willing they are to suck up to Fox News hosts than they are in advocating their side. In fact, Brenner pretty much talked rings around host Stuart Varney on Your World yesterday.
Read moreTodd Starnes' Newest Homophobic Screed: 'Militant Homosexuals' 'Forced' Christian Bakers To Close Doors
On the top left hand corner of Fox News.com is the Fox News logo under which is the trademark Fox "fair & balanced" slogan. Yet, on today's home page, there is a secondary lede headline which reads, as Fox fact, "Punished for Beliefs, Todd's American Dispatch, Bakery Loses Gay Battle." The headline is linked to an article in which "Toddles" Starnes treats us to his trademark homophobia which, in this case, is a big, fat whine about how Christian bakers were forced to shut down their bakery after "militant homosexuals" protested the bakers' refusal to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. Poor Toddles is upset that his fellow Christians have to follow nasty laws that say you can't discriminate against those nasty gays who are being so intolerant. Yeah, I know, WTF!
Read morePeter Johnson Jr. Attacks Patriotism Of Atheists Who Brought Case Against Pledge Of Allegiance
Along with the American flag, the Pledge of Allegiance has become a quasi-religious cult object for the right wing. In particular, they fetishize the phrase, "Under God." Any attempts by evil atheists to remove this phrase are met with derision on the part of those who see America as the most awesome country that Jesus created. When Al Sharpton did an MSNBC promo that loosely used the Pledge, minus the God part, the right's outrage was articulated by the Media Research Center's Dan Gainor who wrote that Sharpton "expelled God" from his ad. Today, the pledge loving Fox & Friends, which never wastes an opportunity to advance the evil-atheists-hate-America meme, reported on a case, now before the Massachusetts Supreme Court, about whether the daily recitation of the Pledge is OMG a violation of students' rights - a propaganda twofer in that the case was brought by atheists and involves the sacred "under God" section - a case that has Peter Johnson Jr. and Steve Doocy, very "disturbed." OMG!
Read moreChris Hayes Takes Down Fox News' 'Ghastly Undertaking On Race And Crime'
After the Trayvon Martin verdict, Fox News, as the mouthpiece for the white "grievance industry" that sees whites as the real crime victims, began a racial "bean counting" endeavor in their reporting of crimes involving white victims and accused African-American perpetrators. Rather than focus on the actual crime, Fox talkers highlighted the race of those involved in a school bus brawl and those accused of shooting (one of whom is white) a white jogger, Chris Lane. Meanwhile, their reporting on the GA school shooter did not include any reference to his being white. MSNBC's Chris Hayes commentary on Fox News' blatant racializing of crime as a "ghastly undertaking" is worth watching.
On Labor Day Weekend, Cashin’ In Demonizes ‘Parasite’ Labor Unions
Predictably, Fox News’ “business block” used the holiday weekend (which honors labor) to smear labor unions. The Cashin’ In show argued that right-to-work laws create jobs while unions destroy them. Sadly, the lone Democrat offered up only a milquetoast-y, uninformed defense.
Read moreTodd 'Toddles' Starnes?!
Fox News contributor, columnist, radio show host and Jesus BFF Todd Starnes has, as demonstrated by his on-air and Twitter commentary, some really *nasty racist and homophobic views. Yet he appears to think of himself as just a cute and cuddly paragon of sweet, Southern congeniality, as evidenced by the nickname that he uses, when, on Facebook, he refers to himself in the third person; i.e. "Toddles." And interestingly, in any Google listing of his columns, the authorship is not attributed to Todd Starnes, but, rather "Toddles." Other Fox writers have just the title of their column, under which appears "Fox News" and no authorship at all - unlike the very special Toddles (One word name, like Cher!) "Toddles"- such a cute and cuddly nickname for such a cute and cuddly guy - ya think?!

While Fox News stars such as Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity get Labor Day off, it would almost certainly not be a holiday for the rest of us if the "fair and balanced" network had its way.
Read moreFox News Trumpets Syria Propaganda In Order To Smear Obama
Apparently, Fox News is so eager to make President Obama look bad that they don't care who they turn to for help. A few days ago, it was Donald Rumsfeld. On Fox News Sunday this morning, host Chris Wallace validated anti-U.S. comments in Syria's state-run newspaper. Fox Nation took it a step further by making the propaganda its top story.

Former Democratic (turned independent) Senator Joseph Lieberman appeared on Fox News Sunday today as part of the panel discussion segment. It’s one thing to disagree with President Obama’s actions and inactions over Syria. It’s another thing for a former Democratic vice presidential candidate and U.S. senator who caucused with the Democrats (even if he did flirt with running as a Republican) to get in bed with Fox News’ inflammatory, anti-Obama rhetoric.
