Sarah Palin Waves The Flag For Ted Cruz
Sarah Palin opened her appearance on yesterday’s Your World by ripping Republicans who don’t want to hold the budget hostage in an effort to defund the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). She came waving flags as Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was beginning his doomed-to-fail faux filibuster against the ACA.

Given that the conservative, Christian right feels that they are constantly under seige by the evil forces of secularism and "the gay agenda," it's not surprising that Fox News provides them with warm Christian fellowship and validation for their perceived grievances. In the Christian world of Fox News, Hollywood (which is owned, in part, by Fox big daddy Rupert Murdoch) is particularly egregious in its alleged bias against Christians. Yesterday, on America Live, Fox's anti-gay "news" host, Shannon Bream was able to promote the popular right wing meme of hostility towards Christians in the military and - wait for it - hostility toward Christians by liberal Hollywood. And for extra celestial bonus points, she let her fellow Jesus BFF and former child star, Kirk Cameron, pimp his movie for the second time on Jesus' very own news network.

What’s the matter with “Democratic strategist” Penny Lee? Even if she’s angling to get her spot back as a Fox News contributor, it’s hard to understand how she could appear on the Hannity show and pretend that Senator Ted Cruz is a man of principle whose only real flaw is that he didn’t “build a consensus” for his radical plan to defund Obamacare at the expense of the entire federal government.

Fox News is quite interested in the case of Air Force Sergeant Phillip Monk who is now the darling of the Christian right because of his claim, promoted by Fox News, that he was punished for his religious opposition to same sex marriage. After Fox's resident homophobe Todd Starnes reported that Monk had been persecuted by his lesbian superior, alleged Fox news anchor Shannon Bream, asked if there is a "reverse don't ask, don't tell" for Christians in the military - a popular meme in the homophobic Christian right. The Air Force told Fox that there was no punishment; but Bream reported Monk's allegations as fact. Earlier this month, Starnes reported that Monk is being investigated - not for his Christian views - but because he told his bogus story to Fox News - a breach of military regulations. Fox's "The Five" rallied around him. Yesterday, Fox's official anti-gay "news" person, Shannon Bream advanced Monk's narrative with Tony Perkins, the head of the homophobic hate group the Family Research Council, and once again, advanced the right's hottest new meme of persecution of military Christians by a Jesus hating Obama administration.
Read moreBill O'Reilly Wants To Spank Miley Cyrus?
Given that Bill O'Reilly mourns the demise of the white, Christian, male power structure, it's no surprise that he's totally on board with patriarchy. Whether it's religious or social, big daddy Bill knows that father knows best. And that's why he's just so concerned about Miley Cyrus' lack of paternal guidance. After her controversial performance at the VMA's, O'Reilly told his fellow Fox misogynist, Greg Gutfeld that Miley Cyrus' father isn't taking a firm hand with his daughter because "the father is responsible for guiding his children in a certain direction." (Mothers? Meh!) Last week, O'Reilly continued to show his paternal obsession concern about Cyrus in a discussion with Geraldo Rivera. It's clear that if O'Reilly had a hand in Miley's upbringing, things would be so much better for her.
Read moreHannity Gaga For Ted Cruz’ Phony Obamacare Defunding Filibuster
Senator Ted Cruz may be a lying con artist who has infuriated members of his own party but he’s willing to take down the government, or at least say he is, in order to throw a conservative tantrum over a piece of legislation he doesn’t like. So what’s not to love if you’re bullyboy, “I’ve got my health insurance, why should I worry about yours?” Sean Hannity?
Read moreO’Reilly Blames Obama For Kenya Mall Attack
In case you were wondering how Fox News was going to blame President Obama for the terrorist attack on a Nairobi, Kenya mall over the weekend, Bill O’Reilly came up with a way to connect the dots. No, O'Reilly didn't directly blame Obama for the attack but if our president only understood the evil nature of Islam the way he, O'Reilly, does - well, O'Reilly never really got beyond there.
Read moreBill O'Reilly: Muslims Are Terrorists, Christians Squeaky Clean!
I don't know if Bill O'Reilly demanded that Irish American Catholics condemn the actions of IRA terrorists. I do know that when Scott Roeder, a Christian whose "pro-life" views coincided with O'Reilly's, O'Reilly didn't demand that "pro-life" Christians condemn his actions. Yet, O'Reilly feels that the American Muslim community should publicly condemn the actions of Islamic terrorists which is why he sent his paid stalker, Jesse "Dirty" Watters to ambush Islamic convention goers in order to mock them and ask "gotcha" questions about American Islams aren't scolding their terrorist co-religionists. Funny, I suspect that if Michael Moore went into a Catholic Knights of Columbus convention and harassed the knights about the Catholic clergy pedophile scandal, O'Reilly wouldn't be happy about it.
Read more‘Liberal’ Bob Beckel Goes On Anti-Islamic Rant Over Kenya Mall Attack
The Nairobi, Kenya mall that was the scene of a horrific terrorist attack over the weekend may be halfway around the world but it was all the excuse that Fox News “liberal,” Bob Beckel, needed to demand that no mosques be built here in the United States and no Muslim students be granted visas until Muslims “denounce” the attack.

I was unable to post the Fox News Outrageous Quote of the Week poll yesterday but better late than never, I hope. As usual, we have a rich assortment of quotes. The theme for the week seems to be sanctimoniousness. Senator Ted Cruz likened himself to Winston Churchill, Sarah Palin held herself up as too good a mother to run for public office and Ted Starnes thinks the Miss America pageant isn't American enough. All that and several more for you to consider and vote for after the jump!
