In the Christian world of Fox News, non-Christian religions are not only denigrated; but in the case of the persecuted Iraqi Yazidis, stranded on a mountain top, they don't even exist. During a recent Fox & Friends segment about the plight of persecuted Iraqi Christians, only one mention of "religious minorities" was made while the rest of the conversation was about the Christians. The word "Yazidi" was not mentioned. But the denial that a non-Christian group is being persecuted has been taken to a whole new level on a Fox Nation. The article, titled "Exclusive, Journalist Recounts Aid Mission to Besieged Christians in Iraq" recounts last night's Kelly File interview with a journalist who "gave an incredible firsthand account of Christians trapped on a mountain in Iraq." The problem is that it's not Christians trapped on the mountain, IT'S YAZIDIS!

Once again, Bill O’Reilly used the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the riots that followed, as little more than a pretext to question the behavior of the black community. In this case, O’Reilly adjudged the local NAACP not guilty, Al Sharpton guilty and Brown’s father wrong but not guilty due to grief. The rest of the black community? Not so good.

While the Christian right loves the 1st Amendment's religious liberty protections, they don't have the same respect for the "establishment" clause's separation of church and state implications. And while they decry tax payer money being spent on the lawful activities of Planned Parenthood, they have no problems with taxpayer money being spent on the unconstitutional intrusion of Christianity into the public domain. And when this intrusion is questioned, they raise howls of indignation about how they are being persecuted by evil atheists - howls which are then validated on Fox & Friends. This morning, Jesus' AM BFF's hit the patented Fox & Friends persecuted Christian meme by promoting Todd Starnes and the religious right's newest bullshit persecuted Christian whine and, in so doing, cited the Constitution to support what appear to be Constitutional violations. But hey, "constitutionalist Eric Bolling doesn't think so. And as said in Plan 9 From Outer Space, "that proves it."

Cornel West is one of the best debaters against Sean Hannity. Of course, part of it is due to the fact that Hannity would not dare treat West the way he abused a Palestinian-American guest recently. But I also think Hannity respects West because he refuses to allow Hannity to dominate the discussion.

Bill O’Reilly told Karl Rove that the Republican Party has a “very difficult dance” when it comes to foreign policy “because even though it’s a mess under President Obama and getting worse by the day and Iran coming up – and that’s just gonna be awful – the Republican Party’s foreign policy under Bush the younger, in Iraq and Afghanistan, now in hindsight looks awful.” Rove did not take it well.

On Fox & Friends this morning, host Peter Johnson, Jr. and contributor Rod Wheeler teamed up to suggest that the looting around St. Louis in reaction to the police killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown was the fault of the supposedly failed Obama economic policies.

Apparently, this is Smear Michelle Obama Week on Fox News. Earlier I wrote about Neil Cavuto trying (but failing) to get NFL star Russell Wilson to take potshots at the First Lady. Today, on Outnumbered, Fox’s crackpot psychiatrist, Dr. Keith Ablow, accused her of not being a good spokesperson for eating properly because she “needs to drop a few.”

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson visited Fox's Your World show yesterday to talk about a United Way program to combat childhood hunger. But host Neil Cavuto seemed intent on using the discussion to malign Michelle Obama. Unfortunately for Cavuto, Wilson thwarted the effort.

Bill O'Reilly lives in dualistic world of good and evil and black (!) and white. As the champion of the white (!) and the good, he sees himself locked in an eternal conflict with the forces of darkness. His paranoia about imaginary threats to his "traditional" America is reflected in his fondness for verbal pugilism and battle references ("War on Christmas?) It's no surprise that his treasured family heirloom and eponym is the "Billy club" used by his NYPD grandfather. And Bill wants you, too, to fight the evil powers. In last night's "Tip of the Day," Bill expressed disappointment that the "prayer discount" at a North Carolina restaurant was discontinued because the owner "caved" to the evil atheists. Bill suggested that she should have fought this obviously unconstitutional thing and that if our "strongly held beliefs" are under "attack" we need to stand up and fight! 

Bill O’Reilly is ready to give the mostly African American residents of Ferguson, Missouri a good scolding over the looting and rioting there following the shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed African American youth, by the police. But O’Reilly was temporarily thwarted in his whitesplaining by a report that some of those residents went out of their way to do the right thing.
