Fox Suggests Obama Is To Blame For Missouri Looting

On Fox & Friends this morning, host Peter Johnson, Jr. and contributor Rod Wheeler teamed up to suggest that the looting around St. Louis in reaction to the police killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown was the fault of the supposedly failed Obama economic policies.

Johnson, set up Wheeler to blame Obama. Acknowledging that there's a lack of trust between the police and the community of Ferguson, where Brown was shot, Johnson asked, “How do you, as a former police officer, how do police officers go out into the community and build that trust, especially when there’s very few jobs, especially when there’s a sense of hopelessness in some communities based on the fact these jobs have not been created. How do they do that in a personal way?”

Wheeler called that “an excellent question.” Citing the good community relations of the Washington, D.C. police, where he formerly worked, Wheeler said police have to be honest, straightforward and transparent. “But you know, Peter,” Wheeler added. “You really hit on something that I think is really the tip of the iceberg here. I think it’s more than just the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. You know, you talk about unemployment. You know, these are the same people that voted for President Obama. They still don’t have jobs. And so I think all of these things are come into play, Peter, as we look at this case and other cases around the country.”

You can watch Fox find its way to blame Obama for this tragedy below.

From Hulk’s comment:

“I’ve never been so happy to cut fox-nonsense out of my cable bill. Lost MSNBC as well, and I think I’m glad of that as well. The “basic package” here in Vancouver, WA has Free Speech TV, and CSPAN, and that’s enough political fodder for me.”

Dear Hulk: I definitely believe you should consider yourself to be one of the VERY FORTUNATE FEW when it comes to having control over what you want to see on TV, because mark my words: in the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of cable TV systems in the U.S. — especially the ones south of the Mason Dixon line — Faux Spews is part of the basic service package. Mark my words Hulk: there are TENS OF MILLIONS of THINKING AMERICANS out there (including me) who would GIVE THEIR RIGHT ARMS to be in your situation RIGHT NOW if they could.

Of COURSE it’s Obama’s fault – isn’t everything?

I guess if “how do police officers go out into the community and build that trust, especially when there’s very few jobs, especially when there’s a sense of hopelessness in some communities based on the fact these jobs have not been created,” things must have been even worse during the Bush administration, when even fewer jobs (if any) were being created. Funny they forgot to mention that (not!)

Where do they find these fools? Thank you for posting these insane stories form the network of insanity: fox-nonsense. Honestly, I’ve never been so happy to cut fox-nonsense out of my cable bill. Lost MSNBC as well, and I think I’m glad of that as well. The “basic package” here in Vancouver, WA has Free Speech TV, and CSPAN, and that’s enough political fodder for me. I HATED tuning in to fox, as my blood pressure would rise 10 points a minute….listening to those insane shills spew their gospel of hate and lies.

Excellent point, Joseph West.

If Wheeler got off Nixon trainee Ailes’ lawn, he would see that black unemployment and poverty is an ongoing problem in the black community. He didn’t say a word when Bush was in office.

Well then — I guess I should admire Fox’s restraint.

I was fully prepared for them to blame Obama for the shooting that precipitated the looting . . .

Hmm. I wonder if it would be possible to get Mr Wheeler, while wearing street clothes, to go walking around a predominantly white neighborhood and someone “just happened” to call the police, reporting that they saw a “suspicious Black man, apparently casing houses, and—I’m not sure but I think I saw a gun.”

If Wheeler thinks his status as a “Fox Black conservative” will keep him from being treated like any run-of-the-mill Black man, I’ve got a feeling he’ll be in for a very rude awakening.
