Was Victoria Jackson Joking When She Said She Thinks She’ll Be Killed For Being A Christian?
Former Saturday Night Live comedian and current Wacko Tea Party member Victoria Jackson visited the O’Reilly Factor tonight(via a pre-recorded interview) where she seemed too crazy even for Bill O’Reilly. First, she argued that President Obama must be a communist because he was “left of Hillary” who, Jackson said, is a socialist. Then she argued that the country has been taken over by communism and that, as a Christian she will likely be killed or else jailed and/or persecuted. Was this part of a comedic shtick or her real feelings, couched in a sort of kooky persona? I report, you decide.

On today’s Your World, Donald Trump came on to bash President Obama’s economic speech. Stuart Varney introduced him as a “pitchman extraordinaire,” even though his companies have filed for bankruptcy four times (in 1991,1992,2004,and 2009). What a guy to talk about the economy right? And since he has already made a fool out of himself (except on Fox News) over his utterly discredited birtherism, what a guy to come up with a “fair and balanced” review! Sure enough, Trump came up with a new conspiracy theory, that it’s President Obama’s “choice” to have many Americans out of work.

While it might be tempting to say that the DW Griffiths vision of African-Americans as primitive and brutal creatures, whose raison d'être is to savage innocent white folks, is so 20th century, it just isn't true. Not only is this twisted thinking alive and well; but it is being promoted by Fox News' resident homophobe and racist, Todd Starnes. Starnes is a Southern man who, despite his residence in the diverse Brooklyn Park Slope area, still lives in a Jim Crow world where only blacks commit violent crime while nice, white Christian boys, like Starnes, read their bible and save their virginity for Jesus. In keeping with Starnes' desire to alert his readers about scary, black mobs wreaking havoc on nice, white folks, Starnes recently tweeted out a link to a story about "black teens" who "brutally beat a white businessman." The story, linked from Gateway Pundit, is big on racist sites like "chimpout" (security warning on the site) and "niggermania." The problem is that the story doesn't seem to be true.

Last night, Bill O’Reilly followed up his shockingly hostile tirade against African Americans of the night before with ill-tempered directives for how they should combat black crime. Papa Bear O’Reilly – without offering a single bit of evidence or evidence that he has done any research to back up his assumption – has concluded that single parenthood is the root of the problem and must be combatted, not with contraception or sex education, but with public service announcements by black leaders. The lack thereof, O’Reilly has further decided – also without offering any substance for it – proves black leaders have been derelict. Therefore, Papa Bear has concluded he has license to berate African American leaders for not doing as he thinks fit. All in the name of good will toward blacks, of course.

President Obama delivered a major speech on the economy today, focused on his plans to strengthen the U.S. middle class, the first in what the White House said would be a series of speeches on his economic vision for the country and as his agenda for his second term. But after about eight minutes of the approximately one-hour address, Fox News made its disinterest and disdain shown by cutting away from the speech in favor of the royal baby's name (Prince George) and a slew of anti-Democratic stories.

Read moreShannon Bream Advances 'Outrage' Over Bogus Claim That DOJ 'Pulled Funds' From Young Marine Program
As the mouthpiece for persecuted right wing Christians, it isn't surprising that Fox News would pick up on the latest "outrage" in the Christian right. Picking up on a story that Fox's resident perpetually outraged Christian Todd Starnes broke two weeks ago, and which is all the rage in the right wing Christian whineosphere, Shannon Bream, hosting today's America Live, reported on - wait for it - "growing outrage" - about how the Department of Justice is pulling funds from a Louisiana chapter of the "Young Marines" because of "voluntary, student led prayer." It was classic Fox agitprop. The plight of persecuted young, patriotic was Christians was used to slam the Dept of Justice (not a favorite of Fox News and its right wing audience) and the Obama administration was accused of trying to eradicate religion. Oh, and the funds weren't, as reported by Bream, "pulled" by the DOJ. But who cares about facts when you've got propaganda to push!

Karl Rove visited The O’Reilly Factor to offer his take on President Obama’s comments on race. This, after O'Reilly's vicious harangue against African Americans and Obama. First, there was “liberal” Juan Williams who slobbered over O’Reilly’s diatribe. Nevertheless, Williams was “balanced” by conservative Mary Katharine Ham in the same segment. But even that must have been too much “fairness” for the Factor folks because they followed that with Karl Rove.

I posted last night about Bill O’Reilly’s tirade against African Americans which he cloaked under a very thin veneer of concern about the welfare of the black community. While O’Reilly posited his unsubstantiated, off-the-top-of-his-head “solutions” for poverty, crime, drugs and the other plagues of the ghetto, the underlying message of his Talking Points commentary last night was really, “Why I dislike and distrust African American concerns and why you should, too.” But somehow, Fox News’ African American contributor Juan Williams – a sometimes intelligent guest in opposition to race baiting on Fox – missed the deliberate hostility and ugliness spewing from O’Reilly and embraced it as an overdue voice of reason.

In case there’s any doubt whatsoever about Bill O’Reilly’s utter disdain and dislike of the African American community, then take a look at the nearly eight minutes of ranting, condescension and hostility that made up his Talking Points segment tonight. O’Reilly didn’t just join his Fox colleagues in using the upset feelings in the African American community as an opportunity to attack them, he took it a step further by suggesting that President Obama is deliberately enabling African American ills by pandering to them. Because, apparently, O’Reilly believes he has fooled at least some people into thinking that his hate-filled rant was an effort of tough love and a gesture of concern, instead of, say, pandering to his (predominantly) white viewers' worst prejudices.
