Fox Helps Promote Republican Tom Price’s Health Care Plan
Neil Cavuto and Your World are doing their part for Rep. Tom Price’s (R-GA) conservative alternative to ObamaCare. In a discussion with Price on December 9th, Cavuto said the plan “already has been scored to save taxpayers some two trillion dollars over the next 10 years, but you didn’t hear anything about it though. It’s the way the mainstream media seems to like it.” Cavuto didn’t say who scored the plan.

If Bill O'Reilly is the commander-in-chief of the War on Christmas, Gretchen Carlson is the head of the women's auxiliary. (She admits that her Christmas zeal is what got her a "culture warrior" spot on Bill's show) For Gretch, Christmas is for Jesus only! Who cares about court cases that require Nativity scenes on public land to be balanced by other displays cuz of that pesky "wall of separation" thingie that right wing Christians, like Gretch, so despise. And what really frosts Gretch's Christmas cookies is the presence of the "Festivus Pole," a comic device from a Seinfeld episode, near the Baby Jesus. One such pole, in the Washington State House, prompted Gretch to utter her most famous quote: "I'm all for free speech and free rights, just not on December 25th." Flash forward to 2013 and Gretch is still mighty pissed about Festivus poles.

Megyn Kelly claimed to have been moved by an editorial in Slate arguing that Santa Claus should not be a white man anymore. But Kelly interrupted a discussion about it on her Kelly File show to reassure children and other viewers that Santa is, in fact, white.
Read moreFr. Jonathan Morris Puts Pro-Capitalist Spin On Pope's Anti-Capitalist Message
As a result of his scathing criticism of "trickle down" economics and income inequality, Pope Francis is not beloved in right wing circles. Rush Limbaugh characterized him as a Marxist. A Fox News columnist, whose reaction to the Pope's world view was "God Help Us," wrote that the Pope "panders to enemies and grievance mongers." (Like Fox News?) Fox's Judge Andrew Napolitano and Stuart Varney have articulated their opposition to the Pope's recent statements on capitalism. And now that Pope Francis has been named Time Magazine's Person of the Year, it was interesting to see the discussion, on Fox's American's Newsroom, about this man whose views on the economic system are dramatically different from those of Fox News. Put it this way, Fox's resident priest and mouthpiece for the plutocracy, Fr. Jonathan Morris didn't disappoint.
Read moreBernard Goldberg: MSNBC Is Afraid To Fire Al Sharpton
Al Sharpton made a mistake on the air about Bill O’Reilly. He took O’Reilly’s comments about Nelson Mandela out of context to suggest that O’Reilly had criticized Mandela as a communist. In reality, O’Reilly was praising Mandela as a great man with whom he disagreed. Should Sharpton apologize? Yes. But does he deserve O’Reilly’s campaign to get him fired? I don’t think so. He especially doesn’t deserve to be racially smeared over it. But that’s exactly how low O'Reilly's two guests, Howard Kurtz and Bernard Goldberg, took their attack tonight.
Read moreMegyn Kelly Ignores Guest's Depiction Of Danish PM As "Danish Pastry"
In reflecting on Nelson Mandela's funeral, the right wing, rather than focusing on the legacy of Mandela, have obsessed on President Obama's handshake with Cuban President, Raul Castro, and the now infamous "selfie" which included President Obama and the Danish Prime Minister. Last night, Megyn Kelly talked about these pressing issues on her show. During the discussion of the photo, one of Kelly's guests, right-wing talk show host David Webb, referred to the Danish PM with a sexist term. So wouldn't ya think that Kelly, who never wastes an opportunity to whine about sexist media treatment of conservative women, would be offended about Webb describing the Danish PM as "Danish pastry?" As it turns out, not so much.
Read moreHannity ‘Asks’ About Obama’s Handshake With Castro: Is President Obama More Willing To Give His Time To Our Enemies Than Our Allies?
Sean Hannity “discussed” Nelson Mandela’s memorial by seizing on the phony issue of President Obama’s handshake with Cuban president Raul Castro. For no other reason than to smear Obama. We know that because after Hannity used the incident to suggest that Obama likes our enemies more than our allies, he admitted he didn’t think the handshake was such a big deal after all.
Read moreDoes Todd Starnes Know That Military Religious Freedom Foundation Got Nobel Nomination?
Todd Starnes is on a one man crusade against the Military Religious Freedom Foundation because it is provides a check on unconstitutional incursions of religion into the public arena. But Toddles believes that the MRFF's attempts to curb religious proselytizing, in the military, is an affront to those who just want to share Jesus with the heathens and, as such, is an attempt to "eradicate Christianity" in the armed services. I do wonder if Toddles is aware that the MRFF has just received its fifth consecutive nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize. And when he does find out about this, be prepared to pass him his fan and his sweet tea because I do believe that he will have himself a case of the vapors!
Fox News Unable To Push Back Creeping Sharia?
Fox News is very good at fulminating anti-Islamic bias; but, on occasion, the forces of reason prevail. In November, Megyn Kelly validated the concerns of Florida residents who objected to a world history honors textbook in the high school which, according to the protesters, was anti-Christian because it didn't provide as much space for Christian history as it did for Muslim history. Todd Starnes, on Hannity and Fox & Friends, fulminated about how the book is really Islamic "indoctrination." But despite Fox's shout out to the history deniers, the Volusia County School Board agreed that it should remain in the classroom. Score one for the forces of reason over bigotry and stupidity. Wonder if Fox will provide an update? Nah....
