Fox News employs a vast stable of conservative Catholics, including those who are *divorced, who invoke their religion while hosting Fox shows. The plethora of Fox Catholics isn't a surprise as, on some issues, Catholic theology dovetails nicely with the platform of the GOP which is actively courting Catholic votes. The expectation seems to be that by having Fox's Catholic hosts validate right wing talking points, its Catholic audience will be more inclined to believe whatever agitprop is being pimped. But shockingly, it appears that proud (and divorced) Catholic, Jeanine Pirro isn't happy with her Pope because he hasn't condemned the persecution of Iraqi Christians - an issue that has become a big f**king deal on Fox as it affords an opportunity to bash the President. Last night, Pirro not only attacked the President on this issue - but she slammed Pope Francis, too!!!
This past week, Fox did at least six shows dedicated to the horrific treatment of Iraqi Christians at the hands of the radical Jihadist group ISIS. At no point, however, was it mentioned that ISIS is also persecuting its fellow Muslims as that would take away from the Fox meme that the evil, secret Muslim president is ignoring the plight of Christians. Last night, Pirro finished up the week with a screed about how Pope Francis better get off his papal posterior and say something.
Pirro began her righteous monologue by comparing the plight of the Christians in Iraq with that of the Jews in Israel, the difference being the Jews have a defender in their leader Benjamin Netanyahu. She answered her own question regarding "who should be defending Christians" with "the leader of the Catholic Church, the pope, the man who shepherds the faithful." She scolded those who are not, to Fox's satisfaction, sufficiently angry: "Now, it may seem to you that the destruction of biblical antiquities, the looting of churches, and the persecution of Christians are a half a globe away. It's someone else's problem. After all, you're safe. You live in the United States of America." Playing the requisite Fox fear of Muslims card, she warned that "you need to worry. A reverse crusade is already underway, and some of those extremists are already in the United States." (Be afraid, be very afraid!)
After she described what ISIS is doing to Christians, she made the totally bullshit claim that "we are a nation founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic – as evidenced by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution – so we should be doing something." (Uh, the Declaration only mentions "the creator" and there is NO mention of God in the Constitution.) And then came the requisite Obama bashing: "Why has the Obama administration's foreign policy ignored the killing of Christians in the Middle East? Why has he provided funding to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt when the Egyptians themselves wanted the Brotherhood out because of their intolerance of other religions?" (Uh, we provide funding to Egypt's government which was lead by the Brotherhood until it was toppled by a military coup.) She continued her rant: "And while Iran’s supreme leader promises a world free of infidels and the flag of Islam in all four corners of the world, our president negotiates for Iran’s nuclear enrichment."
Then came the Pope slamming: "I am a Christian. I am a Catholic. I went to Catholic schools. My children are baptized. And I mean no disrespect, but it is time for the papacy and Pope Francis in particular to start protecting his Christian flock." She said that his prayers for the Iraqi Christians "just aren't enough!" She said that the Pope recent trips to the Middle East "don't reflect the urgent concern" for Middle East Christians. Her jeremiad continued as she urged the Pope to, metaphorically speaking, mount a new crusade against those nasty Saracens.
Hey Pope Francis, your faithful servant Jeanine Pirro has spoken. You need to get with the program, Fox News that is, pronto!!!!! Capiche?

“I Dream of Jeanine thinks Pope Francis has influence to stop radical Jihadist group ISIS from killing Christians in the Middle East.”
LMAO! Dear Antoinette: It’s too bad we can’t get Barbara Eden (aka “Jeannie” from that classic 1960s sitcom “I Dream Of Jeannie”) to blink Jeanine Pirro away!
:^)
Not to mention that the Jews in Israel ARE the majority in Israel AND the Jewish state is illegally occupying and stealing land from an oppressed people. (Not wanting to go all Godwin, but didn’t the Jews deal with a similar situation where they were the oppressed?)
This broad fails to realize that ISIS could care less what Pope Francis has to say. Do you think they will listen to a Christian? If this silly broad believes he has power to stop ISIS, we have a bridge to sell to her in New York.

This report is from 2007, when the situation that began when Saddam Hussein was no longer in control became ‘dire’. Saddam did not persecute christians…his foreign Tariq Aziz was, in fact, a Christian.
There people responsible for this crisis are those that destroyed Iraq: Bush, Cheney, et al. Funny thing though. I don’t remember anyone decrying the plight of these people years ago when this report was presented. Must have been that Obama time-machine thingy again.
