Todd Starnes Really Believes That "Jackbooted Thugs" Are Coming To Town!

Posted by Priscilla -26.60pc on January 18, 2013 · Flag

The term "jackbooted thug" has its origins in opposition to totalitarianism. Dem. Rep. John Dingell used the term "jackbooted American fascists" when he called for reform of the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco. Jackbooted and thug were put together by the NRA's Wayne LaPierre when, in 1995, he referred to government agents as jack booted thugs. Former President George HW Bush resigned from the NRA over this nomenclature. Today, it is used to describe the views of radical, anti-gun control zealots who actually believe that the Obama administration is getting ready to send out jackbooted thugs to take away their weapons. If you think that it's a cartoonish stereotype, much like the "black helicopter crowd," and that folks don't actually believe that, think again. Fox News' ace culture clubber, devout Christian, and raging homophobe Todd Starnes would appear to actually believe that the thugs are on their way!

Earlier this week, when Starnes was on the radio station run by the SPLC designated hate group, The American Family Association, he said that if "they confiscate our weapons" he'll "be on the first flight back south of the Mason-Dixon Line." Oh please, Todd, go. You'll feel so much better in a place where you can satisfy your fatty food cravings so much more than in NY. And as a connoisseur of apparel at gay pride parades, you'll be able to do that at a number of such events throughout the South where there are gay people. (I know, shocking, huh?)

From mlp’s post: " … by leaving his handgun unattended in the school’s bathroom."

Even the security guy didn’t have the brains to realise that guns that are perfectly safe when in a locked safe become potentially dangerous when left lying around.

Note to Todd

Eisenhower killed The Republic by expanding the Industrial Military Complex. Then on his last day as POTUS he went on TeeVee and admitted as much. Where have you been?

Todd better watch out
he’d better not cry
he’d better not pout
I’m telling you why
Jack-booted thugs are coming to town

ATF’s made a list
they’re checking it twice
gonna find out if he’s naughty or nice
Jack-booted thugs are coming to town

They know if you’re permitted
no more gun show loophole now
they know if you’ve got hi-cap mags
assault weapons not allowed

So
Rush better watch out
Glenn better not cry
Sean better not pout
I’m telling you why
Jack-booted thugs are coming to town

It’s what the right and Fox do best. Hitting the panic button and playing the fear game. It’s no longer the Redcoats are coming, today it’s the jack booted thugs are coming.

Relax Todd. They’ll never risk the lives of government agents coming to break down your door and get into a shootout. They’ll use drones to take you out.

Maybe he means ‘Jack Boobs’?

Fom Kos:
“Just days after calling its newly hired armed security guard “a tremendous asset to the safety of our students,” a Michigan school released a statement saying the retired firearms instructor had caused a “breach in security protocol” by leaving his handgun unattended in the school’s bathroom."

Who coulda seen this coming?

Why stop at the Mason-Dixon line? He should keep going until the penguins greet him.

It’s like every personality at FOX, whether it be O’Reilly, Hannity, Starnes, Douchey, Kilmeade, etc, is trying to out-stupid all the rest. Every day brings new levels of “I can’t believe they’re really that fucking stupid” to my mind. But they are.

How many times can the right declare “This is the end of America, the Constitution, American Values, our economy?” Their stores of Apocalypse rations must be getting stale by now.

Toddy must be smoking mushrooms. This explains his latest rants on Twitter. Have fun with this nut. Tell him Martians are planning to attack earth, and all citizens must armed themselves. Ahahaha!

NOTE TO STARNES

We didn’t know you were a stand-up comedian! What you posted for very funny!

Maybe Mr Starnes doesn’t understand the whole concept of the Constitution. He quotes Pres Obama as saying “With rights come responsibilities” and then attacks that as “justifying the destruction of our Constitution.” And yet, Mr Starnes might try to write a treatise on violently overthrowing the government, and see how far his “free speech” and his “free press” gets him. Or heck, maybe he should go to his local multiplex and then (falsely) yell “Fire!” and see how much protection his First Amendment rights give him after he’s tossed in jail for endangering the public.

But seriously, rights have power and, as every good Spider-Man fan knows, “With great power there must also come great responsibility.” Heck, the saying is usually attributed to Voltaire but Spidey made it part of pop culture. Though it’s worth noting that a variant of the saying can be found in the Gospel of Luke, “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” (Luke 12:48) You’d sort of think the “American Family Association” would know this kind of thing.
