Quick, somebody get Bill O'Reilly some smelling salts. The woman he can't stop obsessing over, Sandra Fluke, has announed she is "strongly considering" running for Congress. Since the district is heavily Democratic, she'd be heavily favored to win, should she get the nomination. UPDATED
From the Huffington Post:
Fluke, who currently works as a social justice attorney in Los Angeles, said in a statement obtained by The Huffington Post that she is exploring a run for (retiring Rep. Henry Waxman's) seat, which lies in a safely Democratic district.
"I’m flattered that I’m being discussed as a potential candidate, especially for Rep. Waxman's seat, considering his incredible legacy," Fluke said. "A number of folks I respect very deeply have reached out today and encouraged me to run. I am strongly considering running. I’ll be making my decision soon."
O'Reilly has obsessively maligned Fluke as some kind of sex-crazed slut ever since she made a name for herself advocating for contraception coverage in health insurance. I'm not sure his heart can take it if she winds up in Congress.
UPDATE: Fluke has decided to run for a California state Senate seat instead.
Of course the right had no problems when “Joe the Plumber” ran for Congress in ’12, which thankfully crashed and burned badly. I like Sandra’s chances and believe she’ll be an outstanding representative.
