O'Reilly Attacks Sandra Fluke In Rumble With Jon Stewart

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on October 08, 2012 · Flag

Bill O'Reilly brought his obsession with Sandra Fluke to his Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium with Jon Stewart over the weekend. In a segment recapping the Rumble on The O'Reilly Factor tonight, O'Reilly led off with his smear of Fluke.

O'Reilly said the Rumble was significant because it focused on "what direction the country should take." He added, "First up, massive government spending." Did that mean the Defense budget? Medicare? No. He was talking about Sandra Fluke. Fluke, you may recall, advocated for mandatory coverage of contraception in health insurance, not government spending. But somehow, O'Reilly has twisted that to mean that she wants him to fund her "sexual activities."

The first clip O'Reilly showcased had him saying: "The poster person for the entitlement society Is Sandra Fluke." Then there was a dissolve indicating O'Reilly wanted to skip to his next Fluke attack: "I left two tickets for Sandra plus a month's supply of birth control pills at 'Will Call.' Is she here tonight? (He looked around a bit.) No, she's not." Then he held up a sign, and read, "Sandra, BUY YOUR OWN!"

Yeah, that's tackling the problem, alright. So long as you think the problem of "massive government spending" is embodied in one woman who appeared before a non-official Congressional Committee to argue that employers should include contraception in their private health insurance plans.

@Jack Coglin: spot on. People who fight the hardest in favour of a woman’s right to decide for herself are also the most dead-set against abortion. Contraception significantly reduces the demand for abortion and the kids that are born are more likely to be well-loved and well-cared-for.

O’Loofah really wants a piece of Ms. Fluke. Seriously.

Bill’s obsession with Sandra Fluke is pathological. The last time he went on such a crusade, a physician by the name of Dr. Tiller was assassinated by a crazy.

Was Bill among those who encouraged that crazy? I personally think so but others would disagree.

In any case, I do so sincerely hope that Sandra’s in a strong protection programme because the likes of Bill O’Reilly will never stop until she is in a grave.

Is there any way to see the whole rumble? Bill’s presentation of snippets out of context are not convincing.

According to Bill the poster person for government spending is someone who doesn’t work for the government, doesn’t attend a government school, doesn’t collect government benefits, who only wants the government to regulate her health insurance. That’s really a stretch and a half. I’m sure it doesn’t matter one bit to Bill’s audience if he makes any sense at all, but you’d think he’d take some pride in his arguments.
