When Michele Bachmann and Louis Gohmert visited the Hannity show last night, it wasn’t enough to discuss how Republicans plan to fight back against President Obama’s immigration action. No, Bachmann made a blatant plea to the viewers to join her fight. And Sean Hannity allowed her to do it.
Of course, both Bachmann and Gohmert were just outraged over President Obama’s decisions. Gohmert called it “such an offense to the Constitution.” He also said that the decision is offensive to African Americans and Hispanics. That’s rather doubtful but nobody corrected him.
But Bachmann was all about using her appearance to rally the show's Republican viewers into anti-immigration action.
Congress has a responsibility to uphold the laws of the land as well. And we can defund this president’s illegal amnesty. That’s what we must do. We can’t do it alone. So it’s a very quick three-step plan that your viewers need to help us with. We can’t do it alone. We need your viewers.
Congress will be back December 1st through December 11th. This will be decided in that period of time. We need to have your viewers melt the phone lines. Congress isn’t here. They’re gone from Washington tonight. But from December 1st to the 11th, we need them to melt the phone lines and say, ‘Defund amnesty.’ We need them to go to Senators and Congressmen’s office. But I’m calling on your viewers to come to D.C. on (she named day and time) on the west steps of the Capitol. We need to have a rally and we need to go visit our senators and visit our congressmen because nothing frightens a congressman like the whites of his constituents’ eyes.
…So I’m asking your viewers to join us (she repeated the time and place). Come, rally and then go to visit your senator and go visit your Congressman and you can make the difference and we can get this thing defunded. We can do this but we need the viewers to come and help us.
Hannity didn’t seem to mind a bit that his show was being used as an organizing tool.
scooter, Bachmann is retiring from Congress, though I shudder to think what she might do next.
Just once I would like to see a slither of outrage from the anti-immigrant crowd of not what’s coming into our country but what’s leaving and that’s jobs that are outsourced for the cheaper labor to increase stock prices and the real reason of increasing pay and bonuses so the haves can have more. I’ve never heard of a CEO or executive position being eliminated and have their jobs and pay sent to Mexico, India, or China. This is where the focus and intensity should be directed at, but I know I’m wasting my time pointing that out.
