Michelle Malkin was especially hateful and unprofessional last night in her debate with Juan Williams - her Fox News colleague. Although the discussion was supposed to be about the leak of national security secrets and Eric Holder, Malkin seemed more interested in maligning Williams – mocking him for saying he’s a “real reporter” as opposed to a blogger (which she took personally), making faces and in a special irony, going on to complain about “snotty condescension” from journalists like him. Apparently, our little hatriot can’t take what she makes a living at dishing out. Again.
Malkin’s sneer mongering started early as she began her comments with, “Only in Obama World do people like Juan Williams not see the gobsmackingly naked and clear conflict of interest.” She was talking about Eric Holder having appointed an Obama supporter as one of his investigators into the national security leaks (the other was a Republican). She went on in scorn until she concluded with an excited, “I find it completely shameful that the likes of all of these Senate Democrats and Juan Williams can sit there, ham-hawing and trying to rationalize their double standards between this and the Plame case.”
But Malkin wasn’t done sneering. Eyes wide with mocking scorn, Malkin added, “Of course Juan Williams wants to re-litigate the Plame case.” As Williams argued to Hannity that there had been no classified information leaked, Malkin said in a patronizing voice you’d use with an obnoxious child, “Maybe Juan Williams could stick to the year 2012 for a second,” and then later, even more disdainfully, “All you can do, Juan, is say, ‘Plame, Plame, Plame’ and ‘blame, blame, blame, Bush, Bush, Bush.’”
In my view, Williams was a model of composure next to Malkin’s unhinged venom which, by the way, Hannity did nothing to moderate. “I tell you what, Michelle,” Williams began. “I’m a real reporter, I’m not a blogger out in the blogosphere somewhere… Reporters go to officials (and talk to them).”
Apparently, that hurt Malkin's widdle feewings. After loud, derisive laughter, she jeered, “Right, ‘cause I’m not a real reporter.”
Williams let it go and said, “That’s not classified. In a free society, we want to know what the government’s doing.”
When she got the last word, Malkin added laugh-out-loud hypocrisy to her hatefulness. “If I can just say something,” she said self-righteously. “The American people are sick of the kind of snotty condescension from liberal elite journalists like Juan Williams."
Please feel free to contact Malkin and let her know just who was the snotty condescending one. You can tweet her @MichelleMalkin or email her at [email protected].
Hannity and Malkin did everything they could to pump up the current non-scandal while dismissing the very real Wilson/Plame scandal, and Williams corrected them at each turn.
When Malkin couldn’t handle it, she resorted to childish name-calling and sing-song remarks. Williams responded by reminding her that real journalists behave differently, which of course sent her to Mars.
Hannity in his own turn was reduced to repeatedly shouting that “Holder’s gone! He’ll be fired before November!” And Williams again got the last word on that one, pointing out that just because Hannity wants that to happen doesn’t mean it will.
NOTE TO MALKIN
You are nothing but a self-hating sellout.
Actually, Toddlers and Tiaras might be more appropriate. @newshoundalex
