If Republican Mercedes Schlapp thought being on Fox News meant she’d have an easy time bolstering Jeb Bush’s attempt to blame problems in Iraq on Hillary Clinton and President Obama, she didn’t take into account a Democratic guest who provided some real balance for a change.
Watch The Accountability Project's Nomiki Kunst not just argue her point but refuse to allow Schlapp to spin the Iraq war as a bipartisan effort.
We need more of this, please!
Watch it below, from the August 16 Fox & Friends, via Raw Story.

There was also the little thing about Jebbies brother setting the “withdrawal” date.
We also couldn’t get the Iraq government to agree on a “status of forces” agreement which would leave OUR servicemen vulnerable to IRAQI LAW. This was unacceptable during the Bush years and would have been unacceptable during the Obama presidency as well. Unless you’re a right-winger trying to make political hay out of it.

Joseph West, That’s a good point about Obama and the Iraq war, though he was pretty vocal about opposing it, IIRC.

I didn’t watch the video, but, technically, it was a bipartisan effort. Of course, that bipartisanship was the result of a lot of cooked intelligence and outright LIES. It should also be noted, though, that the bipartisanship was pretty heavily balanced towards one particular party. The House vote was 297 yeas, 133 nays and 3 non-voting. To break those figures down by party: GOP was 215-6-2 and Dem was 82-126-1 (the lone House Independent voted “nay”). The Senate vote went 77 yeas, 23 nays. Broken down by party: GOP was 48-1 and Dem was 29-21 (the lone Senate Independent voted “nay”).
(It’s also a bit funny in retrospect, but Hillary’s vote to authorize the war was held, in 2008, as her biggest “negative” among so-called progressive voters, many of whom had urged her to run against Kerry for the 2004 Dem nomination. But, in 2008, this bloc of “progressive” voters decided to back Obama because of his “opposition” to the war—which, of course, was easy to do when you didn’t actually have to take a stand IN WASHINGTON on the war. And who did Obama pick to be his VP candidate in 2008? Why, Joe Biden. Who voted to authorize the war in Iraq in 2002—just like Hillary. And another big negative against Hillary was her appearance as a Washington insider as well as her age. Biden, of course, had been in the Senate since 1973 and was 4 years, 11 months older than Hillary. And all that talk about “no dynasties” was a bunch of hooey since there’d been serious pressure to get Hillary to run in 2004.)

I think we need to stop saying that we “pissed away” trillions of dollars in the Iraq war — as in the post below.
The American taxpayer wasted the trillion bucks — but it was pocketed and turned into profit by the warmongers that really run our country.
Dubya did his job, and so did Cheney. The fat cats got really rich. The taxpayer got fleeced, and the dumb-ass goober righties feel “safer” now that Saddam Hussein has paid with his life for attacking us on 9/11.
Business as usual. (BUSINESS as usual…)

Little Dick Cheney cooked up some faulty intelligence. And Jeb’s moronic brother Dumbya fell for it to the tune of 4,000 American deaths and a trillion dollars pissed away.
And now Tampax T-Rump’s solution is to send combat troops back into Iraq.
Vote for Hillary for President and stop the insanity.
