Fox News contributor Kirsten Powers had an epic confrontation with Sean Hannity's misogynistic and racist pal, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson tonight. You may recall that Peterson was recently found on video saying “most women” are “little whores.” Believe me, that's the tip of the iceberg as far as Peterson's misogyny is concerned. He's also quite a bigot who has thanked God for slavery and compared slave ships to flying coach. Peterson responded to Powers' confrontation by doubling down on his accusations against women.
For years, I've wondered how Hannity has managed to escape scrutiny for palling around with Peterson while, at the same time, continuing to attack President Obama over his associates. And Peterson is not the only problematic associate of Hannity's. Check out his palsiness with white supremacist Hal Turner.
Powers gave Hannity a pass on his relationship with Peters (Hannity continues to sit on the advisory board of Peters' charity). But that's not to take away from what she did say. Maybe her appearance will draw attention to Peters' entire shocking record and to the question of why Hannity – and Fox News – continue to welcome him as a credible guest.
Powers didn't waste any time nor pussyfoot around nor mince words. At the first question from Hannity – a naked attempt to strip Obama of most of the credit for killing Osama Bin Laden – Powers noted that there's “a little dispute” over whether or not “enhanced interrogations” (which Obama has banned) were integral to the finding of Bin Laden. “However,” she added, “I don't normally do this, I don't normally hijack you but I did not know that I was going to be sitting here with Rev. Peterson tonight, who I have some very serious issues with.” She went on to confront him on his “little whores” comments and more.
“I don't know if you've noticed or not,” Peterson said, “but a number of Democrat womens (sic) are calling themselves whores... They are admitting they are whores.”
Powers rightly noted that Peterson was not addressing what he had said (that most women are whores, not liberal women). “You are a pastor distorting God's word,” she said, “for misogynist purposes.”
Right on, Kirsten. We've had our issues in the past, but hats off to you now.
Here’s the 411: Pat Boone is good friends with this phony minister.
Rupert Murdoch employee High End Hannocchio did not see this coming. Instead of defending Peterson, he let Kirsten destroy him in front of millions of viewers. Priceless, absolutely priceless.
Hannocchio’s biggest fear is insiders exposing him for who he really is-a fraud. He’s done things that would cost him viewers, and he knows it.
A new major scandal involving a prominant conservative mouthpiece will hit the streets soon. The conservative masses will be shocked.
Kirsten gets a kudo for calling out that racist, misogynistic little prick seated to her right. She would receive an even bigger kudo from me were she turn to her left and call out that racist, misogynistic little prick seated in KKKlannity’s chair.
First of all, asswipe: It’s SLUT, appropriated by some women with irony in order to claim that WE are, and have a right to be, in control of our bodies, NOT YOU CONSERVATIVE CHRISTOFASCISTS.
Secondly: If some women claim the right to use the word “slut” with irony that does NOT give YOU the right to use it towards us as a pejorative term. That’s like a white perons thinking its just fine to call you, Mr. Peterson, a “nigger” because some young black men use the term, with irony, within their own groups. If I called a black kid “nigger” I would deserve a punch in the mouth, and if you call women “whores” then so do you.
(Accusations that “NewsHound Alex called Jesse Peterson a nigger” & “they’re such racists at the Kennel” in 3…2…1…)
KIrsten did a great job. Kudos, Kirsten. You got sandbagged with a misogynist christofascist pig beside you on the show and you did a sterling job “hijacking” the segment – which you had every right to do under the circumstances.
On another topic: Hannity can sit there with a straight face and bring up torture when he still hasn’t made good on his promise (over 2000 days ago) to be waterboarded for charity? Buk, buk, buk!

It’s funny how he said Powers was on her own she she asked him to moderate her being shouted down… yet, he had to jump in to clarify (and agree with) Petersen’s points.
But not nearly as funny as his panic when it was undeniable that, come tomorrow, every watchdog in the country is gonna find Petersen’s words and see that he didn’t specify “liberal women” -he said women, nondiscriminately.
Not that politics excuse him- if anything, saying that it’s only women who don’t have his views serves to make this worse.
