Fox News is fairly dancing with joy over the opposition of some African-American leaders, particularly evangelical pastors, to President Obama’s support for same-sex marriage. Whee! Something else to smash the President around with! Not one to pass up that opportunity, Sean Hannity had two prominent black conservatives as guests on Tuesday night: Bishop Harry Jackson, pastor of Hope Christian Church, and former Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain. Hannity spent about half the “interview” aiming off-topic gobs of venom at Obama, but he did manage to let his guests get a few points across.
The segment started with a tape of Bishop Jackson being victimized by the left-wing media - namely, being told “I hope you evolve” during an interview with MSNBC. Yes, said Jackson, the media is full of bias. ”All the programs we have been on so far during this season have characterized my views as being Neanderthal, hatred filled, rather than common sense approaches to a very serious problem in our culture, the disintegration of family and marriage.”
Cain, meanwhile, was his inimitable ranting self as he bemoaned Obama’s “doubling down” on the issue by announcing he wants to repeal DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act. “You know, forgive me for sounding as if I'm frustrated - - who does he think he is? (The President of the United States, probably.) He is not God. He is the president of the United States. (EXACTLY, gentle reader. And since he’s President, he can influence legislation if he wants, which is more than God can do. It’s what you would have done if YOU had become President, Mr. Cain.) And that's what is turning a lot of people off.”
Bishop Jackson said it’s been difficult for an African-American to come out in opposition to Obama. “You must be against your own race simply because you disagree with him on matters of principle.” But he thinks the same-sex marriage could shift black voters away from Obama, particularly if opponents organize around the issue – as he plans to do next week, bringing a group of African-American leaders to Washington, D.C. for a “draw a line in the sand” summit. I presume Fox News will be out in force to cover it.
Hannity finished by telling Jackson he must get Cain to sing at his church. If Cain provided a sample, it didn't get on the video.
There is a simple and easy solution to end this topic-Hal Turner.
Hannocchio is not so innocent based on his own associations with “interesting” business people. Some of Hannocchio’s buddies are in prison.
The Stop Hannity Express says the Fox “News” frauds are in for a big surprise this summer when one of their own is caught in a major scandal.
