While most people have been appalled at Donald Trump’s bigoted attacks on the Gold Star parents of decorated war hero, Humayun S.M. Khan, leave it to Sean Hannity to find another way to ethnically attack them.
If you’ve been hiding under a rock since Thursday night, you missed grieving father Khizr Khan’s moving speech to the DNC challenging Donald Trump’s bigotry toward Muslims. Many are likening Mr. Khan’s remarks to the famous “Have you no decency” moment that brought down Joseph McCarthy.
Trump’s hideous response, first suggesting that Mr. Khan was a radical Muslim who refused to let his wife speak, then claiming that he had sacrificed just as much as the Khan family because he’s such a successful businessman, demonstrated to many that he has no decency. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that McCarthy lawyer Roy Cohn was Trump’s close buddy for many years.
But leave it to white-guys-in-racial-trouble champion Sean Hannity to find another, less blatantly odious way to attack Khan. Media Matters caught Hannity saying the following on his radio show today:
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): What this really seems to be about is politics and a political agenda and a media that is running with it. And he pulls out his Constitution and he tells Donald Trump to read it. And you know, well, this guy is an immigration lawyer. Does anybody know that? So I assume, on issues involving the vetting of refugees and Trump’s general comments about radical Islam—not Islam, radical Islam—and vetting refugees, and building a wall, and immigration, and people that want to come to this country, he has a political grievance with Donald Trump. And in that sense, he specifically focused on EB visas, a special category in which rich foreigners can essentially buy a visa by promising to invest a certain amount of money, so is it possible that this is all about politics here?
In the first place, Mr. Khan’s basic point was to point out that Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims from entering the U.S. would have prevented his patriotic family from entering the U.S. and serving in the military. "If it was up to Donald Trump, [Humayun] never would have been in America," Mr. Khan said.
Mr. Khan’s less explicit point was that Trump is less patriotic since he seems to be ignorant of the provisions of the Constitution and has never sacrificed for the sake of the country, the way the Khans clearly have. Hence the viral moment when Khan held out his pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution and offered to lend it to Trump as he seems never to have read it.
So Hannity neatly avoided what Khan said and what he meant in order to impugn him as being a political operative. But even worse than that, Hannity was suggesting Khan is overly biased toward (Muslim) immigrants and, therefore, not the good American people think he is.
Hannity went on to play the victim as he whined that the “abusively biased” media had broken away from speakers who had loved ones killed by illegal immigrants – as if that was somehow the necessary balance to Khan.
“The media hypocrisy here is on full display,” Hannity complained. “This double standard is so nauseating to me.”
Sure it is. Except when it’s Hannity’s double standard. Don’t believe me? Just check out Jon Stewart’s latest that nailed his double standard in presidential candidates, which I'll re-post below. But there’s also Hannity’s double standard for politicizing tragedy and playing the victim.
Double standards, especially for white guys, is Hannity’s specialty.

“In Foxie land where dumb is king,
When Sean is on here’s what we say:
When you spew right wing views,
And your friends all hate Jews,
That’s A Moron,
When you lie with such glee,
With an I – Q of three,
That’s A Moron,
Bells will ring, ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a ling,
And your friends will sa – li- vate,
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy tay,
Don’t peddling hate pay so great,
When the spin makes you croak,
Like a nut – zoid on coke,
That’s A Moron,
When you bitch and you moan like a paranoid clone,
You’re insane,
When you rally your troops with you big piles of poop,
Jesus weeps,
‘Scuz – a – me, can’t you see, here in reality,
That’s A Moron. That’s A Moron, That’s A Moron!
:D
The Stop Hannity Express asks Greta Carlson’s attorney to call Hannocchio to witness stand. Once he puts his hand on the Bible he will have no choice but to confess all his sins while at the network. If he lies throw him in jail.
Oh, what’s that you say? You haven’t done it yet?
Then, kindly shut the f#ck up.
And, how much money did you raise for veterans through your “Freedom Concerts?”
Oh, it was zero?
Again, kindly shut the f#ck up, you ignorant bloviating jackass.
And, how many years did you put in the military?
What’s that? You never served?
One final time: No kindly about it now. Shut the f#ck up and go give tRump a BJ. We all know you both want it.
