Hannity Loses It When Confronted About His Promise To Be Waterboarded For Charity

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on January 31, 2013 · Flag

We at News Hounds have not forgotten how Sean Hannity has yet to fulfill his promise to be waterboarded for charity in order to prove it's not torture. Hannity made that promise on April 22, 2009, almost four years ago. But today, when a Think Progress staff member asked him about it on the radio, he was suddenly - well, not interested in discussing it.

After a discussion, or lack thereof, of the subject on the air, Think Progress posted the following:

Immediately following the show, Hannity was so incensed that he personally called ThinkProgress to complain. He accused ThinkProgress of being “fixated” on the matter, baffled that we brought up an issue that he said hasn’t been news for years. After we respectfully disagreed and explained that it was disingenuous for him to offer to be waterboarded in order to prove that it’s not torture, only not to follow through on the offer, Hannity sighed, “what you’re doing here is really stupid.” He insisted, though, that it wasn’t a sensitive subject.

Think Progress also has a nice explanation of why this matters:

Waterboarding is still an extremely important, and undercovered, story today. It still exists, it’s still torture, and the only American who’s been sentenced to prison over the matter is a former CIA agent and vocal torture opponent who spoke out about the practice. Waterboarding is now part of the mainstream with the help of defenders like Hannity who insist that it’s not actually torture.

@david Hindin, The audio worked when I just tried it.

@doors17, no I have not seen Grodin on Hannity since then.

doors17: You and I both know “There’s nothing wrong with admitting you’re wrong”. In right wing world, however, one must NEVER admit one was ever wrong about anything, because it’s a sign of weakness.

High End Hannocchio is a coward. He will never be the man his father was during WWII.

Hannocchio gets very defensive. He gets really upset very easily. That’s his nature. He was raised that way.

His a troubled man, with a troubled past.

Has Charles Grodin been back on the show since that pledge was made? He use to be on several times and did an outstanding job debating against Sean. I don’t recall seeing him since.

It’s fun when media personalities, who make themselves the star of every show, every interview, get a little of their own back at them. They never handle it with the grace that even the roughest politician usually does.

AAP, let’s not slap him around too much… that’s evolution’s job.

“I’m not getting into your five year-old issue; here I am, nice enough to bring you on the program, and give you an opprotunity to give your pretty radical, left-wing point of view…”

I think this part is the most telling out of all of Hannity’s response. Hannity didn’t even try anything but to resort to the buzz words he wanted for Keyes, before going into his hissy fit.

This not only says a lot about his personality, but it also says a lot about how he runs his shows.

Hannity refuses to have an honest debate about anything. He always tightly frames his questions so that the answers have to agree with his agenda and then just keeps saying. “why won’t you answer my question?” He takes any story, any event and spins it to fit his radical right wing conservative agenda. There is NO TRUTH on his radio or TV shows. It’s all disingenuous spin. and he always has his sycophants who will agree with him and expound.

Hannity Agog Over Breitbart’s Recycled “Obama Race Video” – Exposing Whom Obama Hugged In 1990

Posted by Ellen [-96.80pc] on March 08, 2012

Sean Hannity, the guy who palled around with a white supremacist and has a very disturbing record on race, was predictably excited over what he and Fox News touted as an “exclusive” airing of an “unedited Obama race video.” Unfortunately for Hannity, Fox and the Breitbart team, the video – showing President Obama hugging someone 22 years ago – is so underwhelming that it immediately became a Twitter joke.

Who’s “fixated” on the past again, Sean?

He is just TWISTED!
In his world, up is down, left is right, right is wrong!
He does & says whatever is necessary to keep his
multi-million dollar salary rolling in.
If that means lying and throwing America and Americans under the bus, well….so be it.
But folks, “let not your heart be troubled” (hehe).
His party is on the brink of extinction and no one is fighting to save it!
They will not be missed!!

“what you’re doing here is really stupid.”

kind of sums up sean’s career.

It sounds like Sean is going through more torture just having to talking about. I’ll bet he regrets making that pledge.

Just do it and get it over with. At least you’ll be raising money for our needed wounded veterans. There’s nothing wrong with admitting you’re wrong. It happens. Just ask Mancow about his experience when he was waterboarded.

Kowardly KKKlannity wimped out of military service because his father served back in WW II. Maybe he can wimp out of waterboarding if his father confirms that he once rode the water slide at Coney Island.

Not only does Hannity refuse to go through with his promise to be waterboarded, he refuses to discuss it.
