Hannity Hilariously ‘Explains’ His False Claim About Refugees

No, Hannity didn’t fall for a parody news site, he just could not understand what he read about refugees in a real news report.

Yesterday, Sean Hannity was nailed by the internet for apparently falling for a hoax news report when he claimed, on two different shows, that the U.S. is taking in 250,000 Syrian refugees.

The source for the original hilarity at Hannity's expense was PolitiFact, which tried unsuccessfully to verify Hannity's claim. PolitiFact did find the 250,000 statistic in a parody news site called Real News Right Now. That site wrote that 250,000 Syrian refugees would be resettled on tribal reservation lands in Arizona and North Dakota. “Long story short, while we don’t know where Hannity got his number, it appears someone fell for a hoax from a fake news website,” PolitiFact wrote.

Last night, Hannity struck back – and let’s just say his defense doesn't make him look any better.

“I don’t normally spend my time, waste my time with stupidity from liberal websites that spend their days attacking me,” Hannity said in a brief statement at the end of his show. Apparently, he thinks that fact-checking site PolitiFact, which fact-checks both sides, is part of some liberal, anti-Hannity cabal.

Then Hannity launched his explanation:

HANNITY:  I was quoting an AP article entitled, “Kerry: US To Accept 85,000 Refugees in 2016, 100,000 in 2017.”

Let me teach you some simple addition: 85,000 refugees in 2016, 100,000 in 2017, well that equals 185,000, right? Well, that’s not all. According to the same report, the State Department is currently accepting 70,000 refugees in 2015. In other words, they said the 85 on top of the 70 they took in this year. That equals 255,000. That’s how I came to the number.

So let me teach you some basic reading comprehension, Sean. This is what that AP article said:

BERLIN (AP) — Scrambling to address a growing Syrian refugee crisis, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced Sunday that the United States would significantly increase the number of worldwide migrants it takes in over the next two years, though not by nearly the amount many activists and former officials have urged.

The U.S. will accept 85,000 refugees from around the world next year, up from 70,000, and that total would rise to 100,000 in 2017, Kerry said at news conference with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier after they discussed the mass migration of Syrians fleeing their civil war.

In other words, the count is not 70,000 + 85,000 + 100,000. It’s 100,000 in total.

Hannity went on to gloat over the fact that he never said all the refugees were Syrian. “I have mentioned numerous times that they’re coming from Iraq and other countries.” OK, granted. But he further undercut his credibility with his next comments.

HANNITY: Now, refugee migration, it’s a complex topic. I can understand how these left-wing critics could become so easily confused. But this is as simple as one plus one equals two. And when you’re only advocating a political agenda, like PolitiFact, I understand, guys, where you’re coming from.

It’s hard to think of anyone who’s a stauncher promoter of a political agenda than Sean Hannity. Maybe that’s why he got so easily confused. But what's Donald Trump's excuse?

Watch it below, from the October 27 Hannity.

His grammar is way off too. At minute marker 00:35 he said he was quoting an article “entitled.” The correct word is “titled.”

E.g. Sean is entitled to express his own opinion on the show titled “Hannity The Moron.”

Sadly, in Hannity’s case, it looks like basic reading comprehension is too complex a topic for him. That ridiculous and hysterical explanation was an epic fail. LOL!

You nailed it Dave Wright and Lakeview Greg.

Aging Hannocchio has lost his mojo. Look at him! He can’t attract younger demographics to his show. A majority of his audience are older viewers which does not sit well with advertising agencies that buys spots on television news.

The Fox “News” suits should send him packing when his contract is up, and hire a younger replacement. That new Fox blonde that the suits are giddy about would bring in twice the ratings, guarantee.

That would mean Hannocchio would hang around the mansion with Merri Jill all day. That would driver her nuts, and Hannocchio knows it.

NOTE TO FOX “NEWS” SUITS

Put Hannity on the weekends and replace him with that new chick.

NOTE TO SEANATHAIR HANNITY

We are counting the days to your departure, grandpa.

Ya know, the “seannie poo” moniker is getting old for me. If I started using “prune face,” would that bother people? I mean no offense to plums or prunes, of course.

Come on now! Hannity only has a High School education. What do expect from him?

He’s fading and he knows it. Megyn Kelly is now Fox’s “Go-to” person. She’s smart. She’x sexy. She’s quick with a retort. Sean is all that is left for the older crowd. He has to desperately reach out to stay even semi-relevant. If he wasn’t such a miserable excuse for a person, it would be sad to watch.

Not buying seannie poo’s excuse. He or one of his peeps fell for the parody article and now they are back tracking. Like I have said many times before, Googling “bad stuff about Obama” has its risks.

OK everyone, it’s time for that parody of the late Dean Martin’s signature hit “That’s Amore” — this is called “That’s A Moron”:

In Foxie land where dumb is king,
When Sean is on here’s what we say:

When you spew right wing views,
And your friends all hate Jews,
That’s A Moron,
When you lie with such glee,
With an I-Q of three,
That’s A Moron,
Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling,
And your friends will sa-li-vate,
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay,
Don’t peddling hate pay so great,
When the spin makes you croak,
Like a nut-zoid on coke,
That’s A Moron,
When you bitch and you moan like a paranoid clone,
You’re insane,
When you rally your troops
With your big piles of poop,
Jesus weeps,
‘Scuz-a-me, can’t you see, here in re-al-i-ty
That’s A Moron, that’s a moron, That’s A Moron!

Hannity's explanation may be even worse than falling for a fake news report.

Hard to imagine someone with such a fat head could have such thin skin, but Hannity is thy name.
