Greta Van Susteren Convicts IRS’ Lois Lerner Ahead Of The Facts

Posted by Ellen -7842.60pc on June 25, 2014 · Flag

Fox's Greta Van Susteren didn’t need no stinkin’ proof – or even evidence – to convict IRS’ Lois Lerner and sneer about how lucky she is to have “gotten away with” the crime Van Susteren doesn’t even know for sure has been committed. You'd think that Van Susteren, an attorney, would want to wait for facts before she convicted someone. But not on Fox News.

In her “Off The Record commentary last night, you could cut Van Susteren's scorn with a knife:

Talk about lucky! Lois Lerner’s one of the luckiest people alive. She hit the jackpot. All her emails from the critical time period, January 09 to  mid-2011 are gone. Poof!

That is so lucky. That is really lucky. But her luck keeps on going. Rather than the IRS being scandalized by Lerner, and wind up protecting the American people and pushing for a special prosecutor, Lerner has the IRS teaming up with her and blaming a crummy hard drive for the missing emails.

That’s a lot of innuendo there that Van Susteren did not back up. For one thing, Lerner has not been convicted of a crime of endangering Americans. For another, Van Susteren has no proof that the missing emails were not lost because of a “crummy hard drive” and if the IRS – which is in a much better position to know the truth than Van Susteren – knows that truth is on Lerner’s side, it’s entirely appropriate for them to say that. You could even say that that’s “protecting the American people.” Protecting them from Republican witch hunts and their irresponsible partners at Fox News.

Van Susteren continued:

One other thing. I’m betting Lerner’s lawyer will cry the blues, saying he wishes the hard drive had not crashed, that those lost emails would exonerate her. Well, I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t buy that. There were reports Lerner was emailing back and forth with the FEC about the Tea Party and sharing confidential information. That’s against the law! She’s a lawyer, she knew it!

“There were reports?” By whom? The RNC? Karl Rove? Since when does anyone, much less an attorney like Van Susteren, announce that someone is breaking the law based on unspecified “reports?”

Van Susteren concluded:

By the way, if I were Lerner’s lawyer? The mere chance those missing emails may get recovered from some recipient email’s account would scare the pants off me. But right now, unless something else surfaces, Lois Lerner, who took the Fifth, and now says her dog ate her homework, hit the jackpot.

“Hit the jackpot?” In March, Huffington Post reported on efforts to have Lerner testify in a closed-door deposition because of death threats made to her and her family:

(Lerner’s attorney, William Taylor III) said that one handwritten letter called Lerner a “socialist” and warned, “We’re going to kill you and your f***ing family.”

A message sent by “The Angel of Death” to Lerner’s husband read, “I hope you are a Christian and believe in heaven and hell. Please tell your wife, Lois, to take the express lane to hell because if she lies to God, like she lied and deceived Americans, I will surely put her there myself. Her only way from eternal fires of hell is to stand up and take responsibility for what she did, but I suspect she will cowardly hide until that day comes. Fortunately, God will not allow the wicked witch to retire with eternal benefits. The curse is on, and karma is not far off.”

Taylor declined to detail the other four threats “because the language is so vulgar.”

HuffPo also reported that the Republican Committee Chair, Rep. Darrell Issa, refused Lerner’s request.

Is that really what Van Susteren considers “lucky” and “hitting the jackpot?”

If there is any one Fox face who is happy to sacrifice her so-called Democratic principles, her professional/legal integrity and her very dignity for the vain trappings of Fox fame, it is Greta von Frozenface.

Her pathetic crush on Snowdrift Snooki “Like wow, one of the pretty girls likes me!” and absurd willingness to climb aboard every smear, every conspiracy, every ugly rumour the Ailes Machine can dream up show just how desperate and needy the woman is.

I recently watched a revealing doco on the way the Scientology machine panders to and at the same time blackmails/controls their ‘celebrity*’ adherents and can see exactly how and why sad, insecure Greta fell into the black hole that is the Scientology cult/racket.

Some say (I’m sure I’m not the only one!) that Greta spilled her guts about her guilt and shame at being a natural born lesbian while being ‘audited’ (and secretly recorded) and she has been their plaything ever since.

I’m going to bookmark this post so that I can use it the next time Van Susteren goes on one of her 8th grade rants about the use of anonymous sources. It is not only hypocritical for her to say, “There were reports,” but it is also very arrogant! Why in the world should we trust what she says as being true? She gave us absolutely no proof not to question her assertions.

Plus, as usual, Greta’s got her head stuck so far up the echo chamber, she’s unaware of the facts. The IRS recovered not all but a substantial portion of those emails from…. the people she sent them to. Ta-da! And according to their testimony, they’re not through with this incredibly laborious task yet and expect to recover more.

FOX and facts have no relationship at all. Why wait for facts when you can baselessly smear and get away with it legally? FOX is going to be the downfall of this nation.

“There were reports” = Van Suckup’s version of “Some say”.

You'd think a lawyer would wait until all the facts were known.
