Once again, regular Fox guest Sheriff David Clarke got a friendly platform on Fox to promote his support for violence against protesters at Donald Trump rallies.
As the lower third read, “LEFTY PROTESTS TURN VIOLENT,” Fox Business host Deirdre Bolton said, “In one of those videos you just saw, an anti-Trump protester was burning the American flag.” She welcomed Clarke, saying, “We are always happy to have you here.”
Considering how inflammatory and divisive Clarke’s rhetoric has been – including his previous incitement of violence – that was quite a telling comment from Bolton.
She asked Clarke, “What is your reaction, as somebody who is in charge of a law enforcement team, when you see scenes like this?”
That was all Clarke needed to launch his hate mongering. First, he race baited the Obama administration for not investigating the civil rights of Trump supporters.
"This is organized violence, this is a system of intimidation and criminality," he said. "This is a civil rights violation. Why isn’t Loretta Lynch dispatching civil rights lawyers to investigate these violations? Probably because she has them all looking at the police in the city of Chicago, Baltimore and Milwaukee."
There was no pushback from Bolton about that.
Clarke moved on to give tips to Trump supporters that suggested they should get violent.
CLARKE: Arrive in packs. Travel in packs. Make sure you have a couple of enforcers in those packs in case something gets out of hand.
…For women, I would say, make sure you have a couple of able-bodied males with you. Preferably ones that have thrown a punch or two in their life, to be able to defend you should something break out.
Then Clarke explicitly advocated violence:
CLARKE: You snatch my hat off my head, it’s gonna be a move you’re gonna regret for a long time. You snatch my sign out of my hand, of my candidate, I’m coming back after it and just because I get it back doesn’t mean the fight is over. So this is the only thing that these idiots will understand.
Imagine the reaction if Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton said to assault a Trump supporter if they take your hat or sign.
Clarke continued his rant, uninterrupted. “They come down, waving the Mexican flag, and then just trampling all over people’s rights and then, where there is some sort of counter action by a Trump supporter, then all of a sudden, they want to play victim.”
Well, some of those protesters are victims. As UPROXX reported, “[P]hotographs have come out that show Trump supporters hitting protesters with pepper spray, to accompany a video posted on YouTube of one such supporter gleefully pepper spraying a man at the same rally.”
Instead of looking for ways to calm tensions, Clarke urged Trump supporters to ratchet up the violence if they came under attack from protesters:
CLARKE: If you see a Trump supporter by him or her self and they’re under attack, move in with your group and take action. Because these individuals still have the right of self defense. To defend themselves when the police aren’t there. Until there is some sort of countermove by the Trump supporters, this stuff’s only gonna get worse. I said this after Chicago and that was 2-3 months ago.
Bolton stamped her seal of approval on his comments: “I remember your saying that and, unfortunately, you are right.”
I’m sure if any liberals were advocating Trump protesters do the same thing to Trump supporters attacking them, with the approval of news host, FOX would throw a fit.
