Apparently, slobbering over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not enough for “Great American” Sean Hannity or Fox News.
We’ve been reporting about how much of Fox News (though not all) has openly sided with Netanyahu and against our own president in the Israeli prime minister’s political stunt designed to undermine and undercut Obama. Now, Hannity has taken the advocacy a step further.
In one of several segments in which Hannity praised Netanyahu’s slap in the face of Obama speech to Congress, Hannity hosted Ambassador Dore Gold, unidentified as a former Netanyahu advisor. Hannity paused at the end of the discussion to make this blatant pitch for Netanyahu’s re-election.
HANNITY: On March 10 – and I do this occasionally – I will host a show on Tel Aviv radio, 102 FM, and I’m looking forward. I do this occasionally. I get to host shows. And my only admonition is, on March 17, there are important elections. And my message to the people of Israel is very clear: that the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, represents Churchill and he understands the nature of evil in our time. And I hope they do the right thing and re-elect him prime minister. I know you have a very different system than we have in America, a parliamentary system and coalition governments, but it would be a real loss on the world stage if he did not win that election. We need him now more than ever. So I’ll see everybody on March 10 on radio.
That’s bad enough. But the kicker is that Fox News has been baselessly accusing Obama of meddling in the Israeli election because one of his former campaign aides is now working to oust Netanyahu.
The New York Times reports:
American strategists have for decades signed on to work in Israeli political campaigns, with Democrats usually aligned with the Labor Party and Republicans often backing Mr. Netanyahu’s Likud party. There is no evidence to suggest that Mr. Obama or any of his senior aides had anything to do with the move by his former top campaign official, who has never worked at the White House, to join the effort to defeat Mr. Netanyahu.
But as Media Matters noted, Megyn Kelly suggested that Obama had sent his campaign “field general” to Israel to oust Netanyahu. Monday night, Hannity complained about “Obama political operatives right now on the ground in Israel, trying to defeat Netanyahu.” (at 5:00 in the embedded video). An article on FoxNews.com sheds more light on the situation:
Israelis are increasingly convinced President Obama is meddling in their upcoming election, and some observers predict the White House’s alleged effort to undermine Benjamin Netanyahu could indeed wind up tipping the scales – in favor of the prime minister.
… A poll this week has already shown Netanyahu’s center-right Likud Party holding sway as its main rival – a center-left alliance called Zionist Union – faltered. This comes a little more than a week after a Jerusalem Post/Maariv Sof Hashavua poll showed that 62 percent of 589 Israeli respondents believed the Obama administration was interfering in the election.
“Any American intervention in the Israeli elections helps Likud,” said Prof. Eytan Gilboa of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (“BESA Center”) at the Bar-Ilan University in Israel.
”There are a number of traditional voters of Likud who have had reservations about Netanyahu, but this kind of intervention…enflames and angers (people), who say, ‘So this is what you want? Well, you’re not going to get it.’”
In other words, it’s very much in Fox’s interest to promote fears of President Obama’s interference in the upcoming election. Maybe they figure nobody will notice if Hannity does a quickie commercial for Netanyahu while they’re at it.
Watch it below, from last night’s Hannity.
The Stop Hannity Express says let this Christian Grey lite go to Israel, and have his lovefest with Bibi. All of it will backfire when the conservative masses learn of his hidden agenda with the Bushes.
We are prepared for the 2016 presidential elections. What comes down the pipeline will be a disaster for Hannocchio’s reputation, with the help of other anti-Hannocchio conservatives. Yeah, you heard it correctly.
We wish Hannocchio would leave the U.S. and stay in Tel Aviv for the rest of his life. Merri Jill can divorce him and marry someone who isn’t a part-time husband and father.
NOTE TO HANNITY
If you are nice to Castro maybe you can win a free trip to Cuba, and free hotel stay as a bonus. Your audience has no clue of the true man in front of the camera. We do. Those street games you learned as a young hustler on Long Island paid off.
smh
vannity is loser #1, and his whining and banging his head against the wall only makes him look more frustrated and out of control with every passing day.
“Would Bibi unilaterally attack Iran just to draw the US into another unending Mideast war? Just asking.”
Here’s my answer: IS THE POPE CATHOLIC?
’Nuff said.
