Fox News’ Latest Excuse To Promote Donald Trump’s Phony Presidential Candidacy – His Daughter Wants Him To Run

Posted by Ellen -7849.80pc on January 26, 2012 · Flag

Can anybody explain to me why Fox News keeps promoting Donald Trump’s phony presidential candidacy? It can’t be any clearer that he won’t run and even if he did, it’s almost certain he wouldn’t win. Yet Fox News trots him out day after day, ignoring Trump’s glaring lack of credibility, in order to promote his phony presidential candidacy. The only reason I can think of for Trump’s popularity on Fox News is that he attacks President Obama in colorful ways. Whatever the motive, such matters as truth and honesty have taken a back seat. In this latest excuse to pretend Trump might run, Greta Van Susteren gushed over a comment made by Trump’s daughter saying she hopes he runs because he’d be “phenomenal” and Trump’s teasing/self-aggrandizing response, “Maybe I should listen.”

Of course, Van Susteren didn’t mention any of the pesky details that would likely discredit and derail Trump’s presidency. As I wrote in a previous post:

Never mind his debunked and discredited birther accusations. Forget his inadvertent admissions of racism. And nobody on Fox ever seems to remember or care that Trump was supposedly conducting some big investigation in Hawaii into President Obama’s birth certificate. That’s not even counting Trump’s disingenuous insistence on The O’Reilly Factor that he was hosting a NewsMax debate – one night before he announced otherwise.

Instead, Van Susteren pimped the tease by asking, “But you say, 'Maybe I should listen.' And what does that mean?” and “Are we a little bit farther down the road towards considering running than the last time we spoke, or not?”

After coyly refusing to answer on the grounds that he can’t make a decision while his television show is on the air, Trump gave yet another hint that he will not run. The comment came during this exchange in which Van Susteren asked for whom he might vote if he had to vote today. Trump's answer - that he will probably decide on someone to endorse – necessarily implies that he probably won’t run.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right, if you had to vote today for president, and you said—and if you’re going to vote Republican, is it going to be Governor Romney, Speaker Gingrich, Senator Santorum or Congressman Ron Paul, and why? Today.

TRUMP: Well, I’m not going to say, but I will tell you it’s probably at some point I’m going to have make a decision. And they do want me—they do want my endorsement. At least three of them do. I can tell you that. Big league.

VAN SUSTEREN: But there must be—there must be one of them that is sort of, you know—you know, spiking your interest a little bit, something that’s going on, something he said, something in the past couple days. I mean, everyone’s watching this very closely, and I know you are.

TRUMP: Well, they are, and I’m watching it very closely. And I think there are certain real positives for Romney and there are real positives for Gingrich. And there are some negatives. I think, as an example, that Governor Romney should be more proud of the American dream. It’s like he’s trying to hide something and there’s nothing to hide with being successful.

And Newt has done a very good job, in many ways. And you know, I like both men very much. I’ve gotten to know them very well. And you know, at some point, I’m probably going to make a decision.

One thing you can bet on, Fox News will ignore these clues and go right on pretending that Trump may run.

Rose215,
Whatever happened to the results of Trump’s big Hawaii investigation into Obama’s birth certificate? You know, the one in which Trump crowed his investigators “couldn’t believe” what they were finding? I’ve got a link above.

Why hasn’t Mr. Big Shot told us what they found? I’ve got to assume it’s because he’s a lying gasbag.

If he were really considering running, Roger Ailes would not allow him the buiding and definitely not allow him any camera time since he would be taking votes away from the R’s candidate. Both Newt and Rick were let go because Ailes knew they were going to run and Sarah was allowed to stay because she wasn’t.

Obviously he’s helps boost the ratings, so they’re more than happy to allow him to put on his act (and that’s what it is) for the Obama hating crazies that love what this self-promoting phony says.

It takes a special type of charlatan to pretend that T-Rump is going to run. And a special type of moron to believe it. Welcome to Van Suckup and the Fux Noise audience.
