Fox Nation Demonizes Harry Reid Over Bundy Ranch - Readers Respond With Death Wishes

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on April 15, 2014 · Flag

Now that the Bureau of Land Management has backed off its confrontation with law-breaking rancher Cliven Bundy, Fox News has turned to a new target for its ginned-up hostility: Nevada's Democratic Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid. Yesterday, Fox promoted a baseless conspiracy theory suggesting that Reid is somehow orchestrating the move to evict Bundy's cows from federal land in order to benefit from a solar energy deal instead.Today, Fox Nation has taken aim at Reid with a headline quoting the lawless Bundy, "He needs to be kicked out of office." Predictably, the murderous group of readers there are salivating for the chance to kill Reid now. (H/T Aria)

Just how baseless was Fox's Harry Reid conspiracy theory? So baseless that even Breitbart.com debunked it. So here's how Fox Nation found a new way to inflame hatred against Reid:

Here are the three death wishes Aria found about an hour ago. Note that each was about two hours old when she saw them. Most had one or more "likes." So either "civil," "tolerant" Fox Nation didn't concern itself with the likelihood that it's readers would start talking about killing Reid - and actively moderate its threads - or they actually approve of this kind of talk. I'll report and let you decide:

By the way, we are sending these along to Senator Reid's office.

Sen. Reid should send it to the Secret Service.

Warren, you might wanna fact check the sources on your conspiracy theories before you post them. That video’s so-called smoking guns were actually links to a report outlining both the physical and economic impact of Bundy’s trespassing and misuse. It doesn’t say anything fitting the narrative.

In fact, I found his other sources, and he makes a pretty weak argument overall. But I guess I should give a few bonus points to the attempts to manipulate people with an apples-oranges comparison to OWS. Especially since that site’s take on OWS was comparing them to giving a baby a loaded gun, and made an open letter video telling them to adapt a spirit like Bundy’s, taking on “Government thugs” instead.

Yeah, I find myself on Storm Clouds Rising a lot- They’re as teahadist as they come, and they pull the mind-boggling feat of being even more arrogant than Breitbart with their lies. At least the cult of Andy never put links that discredit the video in the accompanying article.

And with that, I bid you adieu, because my energy (and patience) for dealing with people that think this is some huge Harry Reid conspiracy, and Bundy’s all kinds of innocent was wasted on the Hounds’ Facebook trolls.

Nope. FOX isn’t any closer to the truth than you think you are… How’s about a little evidence, proofs, facts and things like that.. You know. Logical, rational and even sciency kinds o’ stuff.

Note: When Common Dreams has a clue…

Plus, an eleven minute video on the issue that is worth your time. Promise.

You have to consider that maybe Fox News wants to see someone get killed. They're sure acting that way.
