Fox Host Reveals The One Thing Obama Can Do Right (Hint: It’s Not Sanctioning Russia)

Fox News host (and potential Trump administration employee) Eric Bolling was such a shill for Donald Trump and his disturbing embrace of Russia that the liberal guest finally asked, in exasperation, “Can Obama do anything right for you?” Bolling’s answer proved just what a partisan hack he is.

Guest Arash Aramesh appeared on The O’Reilly Factor last week to discuss President Obama’s retaliatory moves against Russia over its interference in the United States’ presidential election. Conservative guest Cliff May, of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies was also on hand to make it a totally fair and balanced segment of two-on-one with the conservative host interrupting and trying to browbeat the liberal guest.

Bolling announced, in his introduction, “One top Russian official called the action ‘the death throes of political corpses.’” Then, to Aramesh, Bolling validated that view. “Frankly, it feels to me like a lame duck president quacking lame duck quacks,” Bolling said.

Aramesh gave, in my view, the perfect response, by calling out what Fox was up to: “Eric, don’t echo what the Russian embassy just tweeted. ‘Cause you know that’s what the Russians would like you to think and that’s what the Russians would like to say.”

Later, Bolling tried to delegitimize American intelligence.

ARAMESH: We have confirmation now from 17 different intelligence agencies that not only the Russians were involved but they –

BOLLING: Do we? Do we?

ARAMESH: Oh, we do. …

BOLLING: Do we have evidence?

ARAMESH: We do have evidence.

BOLLING: Where is it? … Where is it?

ARAMESH: It will be declassified … Do you trust the Russians or do you trust the American, 17 American intelligence agencies?

BOLLING: Here’s what I don’t know. I don’t know why President Obama has decided to go into sanctions without showing some – just one form of evidence. Just prove it. I’m not saying he doesn’t have it. But before you do something, show it.

Yeah, just asking for a friend, right, Eric?

Again, Aramesh called out what was going on:

ARAMESH: This is rich, this is really rich. I’m surprised that a conservative like yourself [and May], you guys are taking the Russian side on this. This is – they meddled in American elections. We should hit ‘em hard. We should take action and we should take American interests.

Later Bolling attacked President Obama for taking action now and not sooner:

BOLLING: Now, all of a sudden with 22 more days before he has to leave office, he’s gonna put this big divide between the U.S. and Russia and say, “Hey, Donald Trump, here are the keys to the White House, good luck.”

ARAMESH: Oh, the big divide between the U.S. and Russia existed the day that Putin took office … in 2000. …

[…] I just want to know, can Obama do anything to be enough? Can Obama do anything right for you, to praise him?

BOLLING: Yeah, you know what he can do? He can facilitate a smooth transition of power from Obama to Trump presidency.

So there’s your answer. There is nothing Bolling (or just about any other Fox conservative) will praise President Obama for other than enabling Republicans. Bolling wants no common ground, he wants political power for his side, only. Period, end of story.

I hope all Democrats and liberals who appear on Fox will take this to heart. I'm a firm believer that our side must go on Fox and confront the propaganda. But it's verbal combat, not a debate and they are not interested in any meeting of the minds.

Meanwhile, give Aramesh a round of applause as you watch it below, from the December 29, 2016 The O’Reilly Factor.

Bolling is far away and easily the dumbest, least objective, most resistant to thinking/listening host at Fox News, and that is saying a goddamn hell of a lot. Trump could rape his wife and he’d go on air saying it was a brilliant move for America.

As long as he’s kept forehead deep in fake tan, hair grease, and Puerto Rican Whores, why bother thinking? And that lines perfectly with Trump’s new great America, where everyone can be braindead and and have a family of wholly dependent props to say how awesome they are, and throw a fit when they don’t.

Absolutely pathetic from start to finish, Bolling is. He wants to be Trump so, so badly.

David: Independent Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania should prepare to be incorporated into the new Russian empire under manly man Putin.

On further thought, had Obama actually retaliated as soon as the 17 intelligence agencies reached their verdict, wouldn’t he have been lambasted for trying to influence the elections?

David: A bloodbath would not be a smart move by Putin if only because NATO is not synonymous with the USA. The other members without exception are already skittish at the possibility of a resurgent Russia. NATO as an international body with majority European members, may decide to accept yet more countries to strengthen itself. While they would prefer the USA to remain a member, it’s pretty clear that they can’t trust the USA to respect the commitments it, itself, had insisted on imposing.

That said, I expect the new administration to do precious little beyond immediately revoking the EOs. For a couple of years, at least, during which time Trump will purr with pleasure on twitter every time Putin says something nice about him. And Putin won’t skimp on the praise and practices that worked so well with our own Berlusconi: invitations to the dacia for a spot of bear-hunting (or bunga bunga parties according to some sources), photo-ops with ear-to-ear smiles and gifts of fur hats with ear flaps, etc.

Eventually, however, I expect Mattis to step up, give a crackingly official salute and declare that USA security cannot be secured outside the bonds of loyalty within NATO. And he won’t be the only military man to have that view. If Ivanka hasn’t yet taken her father’s cellphone away from him, we’ll be witness to a massive internal battle on Twitter.

Last I heard (fake news warning or FNW) Putin has ordered the farmers of Russia to sow more popcorn for export to the likes of us. That guy has never paid much more than lip service to values beyond power.

Truman, what I’m worried about is that Putin sees a big giant green light for a bloodbath in the Ukraine. Poor Ukrainians have always been the whipping boy of Mother Russia. Ukrainian conscripts would regularly get the hell beat out of them in the Russian army. Putin has absolutely no restraints now.

Bolling is another that needs a serious comeuppance someday.

Too bad Eric didn’t get the job at Commerce. Trump is picking the biggest idiots he can find. I figured Bolling was a shoe in. 👍

Just imagine if manly man Putin had been illegally plotting to swing the election to Hillary instead of Orange Donald. Fux Noise would be screaming for a retaliatory military strike against Russia. And if that black Muslim in the White House didn’t comply, impeach him.

Aramesh: We do have evidence.
Bolling: Where is it? … Where is it?

Boy that kind of snippy attitude is usually reserved for defending George W Bush when he would get his head stuck inside a bucket or something. Not for defending Mother Russia.

I guess we have come full circle in this country. Donald Trump has gone from being the employer of Joseph McCarthy’s right hand man, Roy Cohn to being the beneficiary of Russian skullduggery in our elections.

I guess you could say the same to some degree about American liberals now being on the offensive against the Russians. But can anyone tell me why in the hell we should be tolerant of any country meddling in our elections???

And the Year of the Bully gets underway! (Granted this was Bolling’s parting shot for 2016, but it still applies.)

Bolling’s position is consistent with the Fox News viewer base, and with the attitude of the Right in this country. What do they want Obama and the Dems to do? That’s easy: Shut Up. Go Away. Deal With Being A Failure. Watch As We Destroy Everything You Built. Keep Your Head Down And Do As You Are Told Or We’ll Break Your Other Arm.

And yes, the only sane response to this behavior is to stand up to bullies and tell them NO.
