If you blinked while watching Fox & Friends this morning, you probably missed how the show "addressed" the backlash against co-host Brian Kilmeade's tasteless joke yesterday about Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée to the ground: "I think the message is, take the stairs." There was no apology and no remorse, either. In fact, Fox suggested that anyone who took offense is to blame for misunderstanding.
According to Huffington Post, Fox spent all of 13 seconds addressing their comments about Rice. And, by the way, it wasn't just Kilmeade's joke that was so offensive. Co-host Anna Kooiman giggled heartily at Kilmeade's "take the stairs" line. Co-host Steve Doocy followed up by saying that he thought the message was, "When you're in an elevator, there's a camera." You can watch the segment that got Fox hammered in social media yesterday below.
Here's the totality of Fox's "address" this morning:
KILMEADE: Meanwhile, comments that we made during this story yesterday made some feel like we were taking the situation too lightly. We are not. We were not. Domestic abuse is a very serious issue to us, I can assure you.
Meanwhile, let's not forget Andrea Tantaros politicization of the issue. She took domestic violence so seriously that she sat around figuring out how to use it as a weapon against President Obama. This, from the woman who urged her own radio listeners to "do me a favor" and punch an Obama supporter "in the face" last year.
If anything, Kilmeade's comment today only serves to reinforce the message that Fox does not take the issue seriously at all.

And I think the addressing statement should have been repeated whenever they were discussing the Rice situation on today’s show (which was mentioned once in each of their 3 hours). That’s right, Kilmeade, you should have been made to repeat your show’s statement 3 times today. Instead you, your producers and FOX’s PR flacks were hoping that most of the viewers weren’t awake yet or were still in the shower for your only apology, er, address about the tasteless comment(s). All of you are cowards – especially the person who wrote that tripe.
This blonde bimbette has no issues dressing like a lady of the evening. Look at her skirt. She has no class, or talent.
She was hired to draw middle age men to Fox “News” for ratings purposes. The male suits treat women like sex props.
