Feeling The Heat, New Fox CEO Reportedly Wants To Dial Down The Flaming Rhetoric

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on June 28, 2018 · Flag

The public backlash against the hideous rhetoric of Fox News seems to be causing some discomfort and consternation in the executive suites. CEO Suzanne Scott now wants it to be a tad less hideous.

Yesterday, Politico reported that Scott recently held a meeting with the network’s top producers in an effort to crack down on the numerous incidents, such as Corey Lewandowski’s “Womp, womp” and Laura Ingraham likening child detention centers to summer camps, that have cost the network advertising dollars and prompted some talent at other Fox divisions to speak out against FNC.

Those incidents, according to Politico, prompted Scott to require copy about children to be scripted in advance and reviewed before airing. She's also requiring producers to push back, which host Sandra Smith did not do in the now-infamous "womp, womp" segment.

At the meeting, Scott emphasized to producers that, if something incendiary is said on their show, it is their job to get in the host’s ear and make sure they push back in the moment, according to the people familiar with the meeting.

I’m certainly glad that Fox News is uncomfortable with its image of late. But sensationalized hate mongering is Fox’s stock in trade. An unidentified former producer summed up the situation for Politico:

“The management hired these people knowing fullwell what they’re doing and then pretend after the fact,” the former producer said. “‘Why would they say these things? How could it possibly happen?’ What do you mean, how could it happen? You hired this person because they say crazy things.”

Given the volume of controversial opinions offered by Fox News opinion hosts, the former producer wondered where Scott draws the line between which statements are acceptable and which are too outrageous.

“What’s inappropriate?” the former producer asked, “What’s not?”

Exactly.

Well, since I don’t watch Fox, I’m counting on you to let us know if the rhetoric does indeed dial down. Thanks.

Boss woman Scott, aka “The Heels”, is a useless leader.
The only reason she is feeling the heat now is due to loss of advertising dollars. The Heels’ job is on the line which explains the pushback.

Hannie Pie the Welfare King does not like people to tell him what to do on his own show. The Heels knows this.

Fox “News” contributors are leaving this satanic network. They are finally growing a spine and denouncing these demons on other networks.

NOTE TO BOSS WOMAN SCOTT, AKA THE HEELS

You do realize that certain men at this worthless network will ignore you. They don’t take orders from women, especially boss woman.

This is meaningless legalese. What it translates to is that Scott received complaints about the unhappiness of various celebrities on the Fox Studios side of the company and she wants them to think she’s taking action – when in fact this is simply a CYA memo approach. And it’s only intended to cover them until the acquisition by Disney or Comcast is completed. Once Fox News and Fox Sports are left on their own, talk like this will be forgotten.

The entire point of Fox News is to allow angry Right Wingers to spout whatever hatred and talking points they can to slag their political enemies. That has always been the point. Scott’s words fly in the face of the entire mission of the network. I’m sure that when Hannity, Ingraham and Carlson heard them, they openly laughed in the messenger’s face.

From Ellen’s post:

“…….Scott recently held a meeting with the network’s top producers in an effort to crack down on the numerous incidents, such as Corey Lewandowski’s “Womp, womp” and Laura Ingraham likening child detention centers to summer camps, that have cost the network advertising dollars……..”

This is PURE 100% SMOKING GUN PROOF of this ancient proverb:

$$$$ TALKS — BULLS**T WALKS!

’Nuff said.

Moving the goal posts. From “fair and balanced” to “a tad less hideous.” Still not achievable.
