Donald Trump Embraces Bill O'Reilly's 'Kate's Law'

In a perfect blending of Fox News political advocacy with presidential politics, Donald Trump made Bill O'Reilly's "Kate's Law" an official part of his anti-immigration platform.

You may recall that Trump's milkshake buddy, O'Reilly, has been stumping for "Kate's Law" ever since he inserted himself into the tragedy of a young (white) woman, Kate Steinle, shot and killed by an "illegal immigrant." Fox's Megyn Kelly and Jesse Watters joined the exploitation. When Congress failed to pass the law, which punishes criminal immigrants, O'Reilly almost became a criminal himself, as he threatened Republicans who didn't "wise up" by saying, "I know where they live, and believe me, we’ll come right to them."

But Trump doesn't have to worry. During his anti-immigration speech last night, Trump promised to pass Kate's Law on "my first day in office."

The Fox News presidency takes one step closer to reality.

Watch it below, from Trump's August 31, 2016 speech in Phoenix.

Donnie’s gonna be a busy boy on inauguration day. What with the 2 hours to get his hair that exact inexplicable color and style (and the 2 cans of hairspray); “T-Rump Tangerine #4” spray tan; all the pomp at the actual swearing in; the long walk to the White House (which Melania will do in her 6" LaBoutins); the 2 hour luncheon; all of the back-slapping and high-fiving afterwards……he’ll have about a hour to round up and deport all of those 30 million undocumented immigrants, throw out the health-care act, and build that wall. He will need to touch- up his orange face and change into his tux, help Melania stuff her 300 ml implants into her size zero dress, the sit down for the 2 hour dinner. And then he will be obligated to dance with all the wives of all the people he made promises to. He has made an awful lot of campaign promises of what he will do his first day in office. He’s going to drop dead of a heart attack along about midnight, since the truth is his heart is in worse condition than Dick Cheney’s and he promised his doctor the job of Secretary of HHS to say he was in excellent health. Then there is the swearing-in of Mike Pe .😱……… Oh DEAR GODDESSES and GODS!!!!! I’m from Indiana and have had a constant smile on my face when he got the Veep invite.

John M,that number is higher than that. The hard right in this country is about 25-35% of the vote. If the GOP nominee were a lobster red gentleman with a goatee, a pitchfork, pointed tail and a devilish grin, he could count on those votes. Now it doesn’t just occur like that only in the USA. We share similar statistics with Europe on a number of issues, like belief in evolution for example. Or more tellingly, disbelief in evolution.

JM, one of our drawbacks here in the good old USA is that we have deeply ingrained ignorance in this country that can trace it’s roots back to the Civil War. Ignorance that people ARE proud of. Ignorance that is aided and abetted by one Faux Noise.

It is to America’s eternal shame that Trump is even a contender to become the most powerful man on the planet. The world laughs and points at your country, and rightfully so. I still cannot believe that he is supported by more than a nutjob fringe of 5% or so.

Please everybody, repudiate the reputation of America and do everything you can to say ‘No, we’re better than that’ in the strongest possible terms.

Vote like it’s a religion. And we are zealots,. Too many people in 2010 stayed at home. It was an off year. Not a presidential race. And the Rs have us fucked for a month of Sundays because of gerrymandering. That’s what comes from laying on your ass and not voting. Vote like it’s a religion.

I too am worried about turnout. Look at Brexit. A lot of the young urban professionals didn’t bother to vote because they thought “STAY” was in the bag. I hope the young realize that “HILLARY WINS” is not in the bag. We know every low-info, low-education, “whites have it the worst” crowd, every one of them, is going to vote and vote for Herr Drumpf. There is still work to do and young people better realize it, take some time on Election Day to do what Americans should do, and vote.

Amen my fellow NEWSHOUNDS. I just received a letter from my County Election Commission to serve as clerk or judge for the upcoming Nov 8 election. I live in a state that t-Rump will very likely carry, though my district is up for grabs. I am practicing hard to attain objectivity but its not easy. It will be a tough 13 Hours.

@lakeview greg. You are absolutely right. I am justifiably worried that Hillary’s unfavorability numbers will discourage younger Democrats/Independents from voting. What a big mistake that would be. A Long Dong Donald Presidency would be the end of the United States as we know it.

And it is up to us. The younger set doesn’t vote all that much. Sorry, they don’t. Check out voting stats.

The biggest problem Clinton has is people assuming the vote will be a squash match so why bother voting.

So, get out and vote no matter how lopsided it seems. The cranks always vote. It is up to the rest of the voters to do one of the very few things our government asks of us, that being voting.

@mlp and scooter. Good points.
If our currently elected President signs a valid Presidential executive order, the GOPiggies squeal in protest.
But if their Presidential wannabe T-Rump wants to pass laws unilaterally, that is OK.

mlp – these people wouldn’t know the Constitution if it bit them in the ass. All they know is BUILD THE WALL AND DEPORT MEXICANS. Never mind that many illegal immigrants may be from countries other than Mexico. Trump is playing to the very dumbest of Americans, and they slurp it up and ask for more. Can’t wait to see their collective heads explode when Trump loses.

Ugh….‘bevel’ = believe.

I’m starting to seriously bevel that Trump thinks he is running for the position of ‘Dictator’. How else can he pass any law on his first day in office. Of course, his base, the deluded, ignorant and fucking crazy, believe that he can and will!
Maybe they should read that constitution that they claim to love so much.
