Former Vice President Dick Cheney had some stiff competition but he trounced each and every one of them to win our Most Outrageous Quote of the Week Poll with a decisive 58.4% of the vote or 122 votes. What made him such a "winner:" His comment that the attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya was “one of the worst incidents that, frankly, that I can recall in my career.”
Fittingly, Donald Rumsfeld was the runner up for lecturing us about the importance of truthfulness in making assessments about Benghazi and the need to dispassionately “gather the facts and then inform the American people.” Rummy's tally was 29 votes or 13.9% of the total.
