Vote For The Fox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week - 5/12/13-5/18/13

Posted by Ellen -7842.60pc on May 19, 2013 · Flag

You've got your work cut out for you, dear readers. We had an especially rich field of candidates to choose from this week. Subjects ranged from Benghazi, the IRS scandal, Dr. Gosnell and abortion, and Obamacare from the mouths of Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Michele Bachmann and even "Democrat" Dennis Kucinich, to name a few. But only one gets to be named our Outrageous Quote of the Week. I would not want to be in your shoes this week!

1. “Liberal Democrat” Dennis Kucinich carrying Fox News’ water when he answered a question about whether or not the Benghazi talking points were “politically scrubbed:”

Of course they were. Come on, are you kidding? You know, this is one of those things that you have to realize, we’re in the circumference of an election, and when you get on the eve of an election, everything becomes political. Unfortunately, Americans died and people who believe in America who put their lives on the line, they weren’t provided with protection. They weren’t provided with a response. They and their families had a right to make sure that they were defended. Look, we went into Benghazi with under the assumption that somehow there was going to be a massacre in Benghazi. So we went there to protect the Libyan people. We couldn’t go into Benghazi to protect our own Americans who were serving there? I’m offended by this, and there has to be real answers to the questions that are being raised.

(5/12/13)

2. Dick Cheney, as part a lecture about preventing terrorism attacks and being ready to handle attacks, called the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, “one of the worst incidents that, frankly, that I can recall in my career.” (5/13/13)

3. Donald Rumsfeld, lecturing about the need to dispassionately “gather the facts and then inform the American people:”

“I can’t imagine how a person could stand up there when everyone involved knew it was a terrorist attack, it was the anniversary of 9/11. …The idea that it was somehow related to a YouTube video and that that narrative kept being promoted, I suppose it’s because it fit their hopes and what they wanted to be the case.”

(5/14/13)

4. Larry Nordvig, Executive Director of the Richmond Tea Party, claiming he wants the IRS scandal to be a Kumbaya moment: “You know, the point here, Greta, is if—this is an issue for all Americans. This is not just a right or left or center issue. As a matter of fact, we’ve been so divided lately as a country, I look at this as an opportunity for groups to come together.” (5/14/13)

5. Greg Gutfeld, using Dr. Kermit Gosnell to crusade against abortion: How can this not be considered a hate crime? (5/14/13)

6. “Objective” Megyn Kelly closing out a discussion about the IRS discussion: “I think of the t-shirt that I’ve seen on line which is, which reads, ‘What if Glenn Beck is right?’” (5/15/13)

7. Reince Priebus accusing Attorney General Holder of “attacks on the Constitution” by upholding it: The Christmas Day bomber – reading the Miranda rights to the Christmas Day bomber. Claiming that he would read legal rights to the dead corpse of Osama Bin Laden. (5/15/13)

8. Bill Cunningham accusing the Obama administration of using the IRS to steal the 2012 election:

They said, “Let’s use Chicago-style politics and destroy the Tea Party.” It was done with the media and it was done by individuals like the IRS. There was offices in Ohio — they were scared to death about losing Ohio — there’s dozens and dozens of tea party groups in Ohio. So what they said is, “We’re going to destroy the Tea Party by keeping them tamped down with their political activities.’”

So instead of going out to register new voters, the Tea Party, what were they doing? Responding to the IRS with page after page. And so the four million fewer voters who (didn’t vote for Mitt Romney but) voted for McCain, four million less - it’s because they attacked the Tea Party and took away their ability to organize. Just like Benghazi. Committee To Re-Elect The President was all about not national security, but about Obama’s re-election security, the IRS was all about electing Obama.

… “They had two purposes: one, is to maximize the Obama turnout with Obamaphones; secondly, suppress the Tea Party vote. And guess what? He wins the election!”

(5/15/13)

9. Greta Van Susteren rehabilitated Donald Rumsfeld into a poster child for good government: Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. He says the White House is facing the perfect storm: three scandals. So what would Donald Rumsfeld tell President Obama to do? (5/16/13)

10. Michele Bachmann fearmongering about the IRS administering Obamacare: Because someone is a political opponent of the administration, could they potentially be denied health care or denied access? (5/16/13)

11. Fox News Vice President Bill Shine "forgetting" Allen West's disgraced military record when explaining why Fox News hired him as a contributor: “Representative West’s congressional and military experience along with his fearless approach to voicing key issues will provide a valuable point of view to the FOX News lineup.” (5/16/13)

I went with Shine……trying to shine up Allen West’s dubious military record to make him appear credible. Well, we already know the Faux audience considers West to be a man beyond criticism, but a little extra apple-polishing never hurts. His resigning to prevent a possible court-martial goes in the same garbage can as Ollie North’s three felony convictions. “If we don’t mention it, then it has never happened”. A lot more truthful on Faux than “Fair and Balanced.”

I’m on the Dick Cheney bandwagon, but he beat Rumsfeld by the skin of his teeth.

Darth Dickhead Cheney gets my vote. I can’t discern whether he is senile or simply a sociopath.

What a cornucopia of crapola!
It was very tough, but Cheney’s statement is so much bullshit that it’s actually quite funny!
And, seriously, I really believe that the evil cretin really can’t remember a worse incident. His mind has been cottage cheese for several years.
