Bob Woodward Rains On Hannity’s Benghazi-Gate Parade

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on October 09, 2012 · Flag

Sean Hannity’s new BFF, Bob Woodward, appeared on the Hannity show tonight where Hannity eagerly pressed him on the possibility that Benghazi would be President Obama’s Watergate. You may recall that Hannity has previously thought Sestak-gate, Fast and Furious-gate, and campaign-ad-gate would be President Obama’s Watergate. Unfortunately for Hannity, Bob Woodward - an authority on what would constitute the next Watergate if ever there was one - would not go along.

Once again, Hannity forgot his enmity toward the so-called “Obama mania media” during Woodward’s appearance. In fact, some people would say Hannity downright slobbered over him:

I joked with you the last time you were on the program. And I said any president that sits down with you has got to be out of his mind. And I meant it as a compliment. Because you are relentless.

Of course, what Hannity really meant was that Woodward was awesomely critical of Obama. So who better to enlist in his effort to turn Benghazi into Benghazi-gate than one of the men responsible for having “gate” in every political scandal since the ‘70s?

You’re best known for Watergate. Here we have a situation in Benghazi, which is a known hotbed for terrorist training. We have an ambassador writing in his diary that he felt his life was in jeopardy. We now know that he requested additional security and it was denied. We know that the Libyan president said that this was a terror attack from the very beginning. The White House went out there with this line that this was spontaneous – with mortars and rocket-propelled grenades. ‘It had nothing to do with America, it had nothing to do with the anniversary of 9/11, it was all based on a movie trailer.’  All of their story is unraveling. I would think as a reporter, and I’m not a reporter. You’re known to be a great reporter. This would be a gold mine. Why are your colleagues in the media ignoring it?

…I believe that they purposely lied. And the evidence seems incontrovertible to me.

Woodward answered:

There’s not evidence of that and I’ve for 40 years have covered too many of these things where sometimes there is a cover up, sometimes there are people lying at all kinds of levels. You have to get in there and get the details but I do agree with you that this should be examined in depth by somebody neutral in the media and the Congressional Committee should be looking at this.

Shorter Woodward: I knew Watergate and this is no Watergate... so far.

Yes, he said there should be an investigation but in this clip (and elsewhere, btw), in response to Hannity’s accusation that the evidence was “incontrovertible” that the Obama administration "purposely lied, Woodward said, “There’s not evidence of that.”

Maybe you should find a video of the ENTIRE exchange he had with FOX, not just the Hannity clip. He said there should be an independent investigation. He said "He said that Obama’s failure to be forthcoming set off “all sorts of alarm bells.” He said he’s “troubled by the changing stories coming from the White House”…what part of that is raining on the Benghazi parade? This situation should be addressed, and "should have been “nipped in the bud” as Woodward suggests, by straight information from the White House.

Odd, I watched that interview, and came away seeing Bob Woodward as very much suggesting there IS a cover-up, and it SHOULD be investigated.

Our media partners should call out Woodward personally and ask why he refuses to investigate News Corporation-gate.

News Corporation, the equivalent of the Dark Star, led, not by Darth Vader, but Ruthless Rupy.

Woodward and Nixon-trainee Roger Ailes probably talk about old times. Speaking of old times, did Ailes have knowledge of Watergate? Of all people, Woodward should know.

Hannocchio is a complicated man with a complicated history. He always wants to be liked and right. It’s a self-esteem issue.

Ever since Obama rejected Hannocchio for a sit-down interview, he’s been on the warpath with the president. Hannocchio can’t take rejections very well. It’s a self-esteem issue.

I’m deeply disappointed with Woodward. Age is a bitch, for sure.

FuxGate: How a wrinkled, evil old man tried to pervert the American Presidential election by spewing out lies and hatred 24/7 on a faux news channel.

WTF is Woodward doing on Hannity’s show?
The goobers aren’t going to buy any book that doesn’t accuse Obama of being a Muslim, or a murderer or black.
Of course, if Woodward doesn’t sell enough copies of this book, who knows what he’ll try next?
