Just when you think Fox "liberal" Bob Beckel can’t sink any lower in boorishness – well, he does.

Frankly, I don’t care about the Bachelorette or whom its star did or did not sleep with. If you ask me, the whole scene excerpted from the show in the clip below looks as scripted as a soap opera.

But for Bob Beckel to call Bachelorette Andi Dorfman “a slut” – in a line that seemed just as impromptu as her show’s clip – smacks of a desire to grab attention over anything anything else. In other words, a moment in the spotlight is more important than being an advocate for liberal politics, which is what Beckel’s role supposedly is on Fox. But when you add this to his rant and ethnic slur against the Chinese, his hideoulsy hammy bullying of a Muslim guest on Hannity and his not-altogether-reliable advocacy for liberal policies, you have to wonder whose side Beckel is really on.

I suspect he’s on Beckel’s side, only.

For a little backstory. Apparently, Bachelorette Dorfman slept with a man she didn’t choose as the winner. The jilted lover revealed their liaison in a supposed “bombshell,” as a graphic on the screen called it, during the season finale.

That’s what prompted Beckel to say about Dorfman, “She’s a slut.”

It’s not often I side with “Do me a favor and punch an Obama supporter in the face” Andrea Tantaros, Beckel's co-host. But not only did she call out Beckel, she added, “Those in glass boudoirs, Beckel, Those in glass boudoirs.”

So it seems "liberal" Beckel has something of a double standard, too.

Co-host Dana Perino  summed it up perfectly: “I was just going to say that that whole episode really lowered the bar on the ‘Bachelorette,’ which would be hard to do, but I think that we just surpassed ourselves here and lowered it even further. Congratulations to us.”

Yes, congratulations, indeed.
