Bill O’Reilly Very Worried He Won’t Get The Same Retirement Sendoff As Jon Stewart

Bill O’Reilly is awfully concerned that when he retires he will not get the same tributes as Jon Stewart has since announcing his departure from The Daily Show. The only possible explanation for such a discrepancy, O’Reilly argued, is that the media is unfairly liberal.

Bill O’Reilly “proved” his point last night by playing a few clips of praise for Stewart from the media. Afterward, O'Reilly sounded almost bitter as he said, “I’m sure when I retire, I’ll get the same treatment.”

O’Reilly continued, his voice full of sarcasm: “Say I get run over by a bus tomorrow… I think the media would just mist over and ‘19 years O’Reilly’s been doing this every night – cogent points, blending drama with humor, interviews with the biggest people in the world.’ …Wouldn’t that happen?…Why would I not get the same treatment that Jon Stewart is getting?”

Guest Juan Williams told O’Reilly, “You’re a big boy. You’re Number One.” He said that Stewart’s ratings are embarrassing next to O’Reilly’s.

“They should just heap more praise upon me,” O’Reilly argued.

Williams replied, “I’m just telling you, that’s not the way the world works, brother. That’s jealousy, it’s envy.”

But to O’Reilly, it was proof “beyond a reasonable doubt” that “the national press and the commentators and television and print, they’re overwhelmingly liberal. That’s what it proves, Juan.” O’Reilly sounded disgusted. He then mocked people who disagree that the media is liberal.

“I’ll be looking down from heaven, watching the coverage of my demise,” O’Reilly said as he closed the segment.

And he’ll be comparing it to Jon Stewart’s, I’m sure.

Watch it below, from last night’s The O’Reilly Factor.

Billy, you won’t be missed. Your colleagues at this fraudulent “news” outlet don’t like you, and counting the days when you retire.

The Second Floor will throw a “good riddance” party after you leave.

This s Bill O’Reilly in a nutshell.
“That’s enough of me talking about myself; let’s hear you talk about me”

And, once again, BOR takes a subject about someone else and makes it about him. That’s one of the things that’s always creeped me out about BOR – the disturbing way he so often uses his show to bolster his own slighted sense of self-importance. It’s not about “the folks” as he claims; it’s about BOR and his ego. And, good gawd, Juan, suck up much? Geez.

Yep, as most of you have pointed out, there’s several reasons why the Mayor of Bullsh!t Mountain won’t get the send off that Stewart is going to get (with the least of it being because of the so-called “liberal” media). BOR is a sad, little man who has delusions of grandeur about himself and his place in the world. Having listened to his now defunct radio show, BOR’s damaged ego goes waaay back as he’s complained about how he wasn’t one of the popular “swells” growing up. And, despite his advanced age, he still sounds like the jealous high school boy who envies those who are better liked and more respected.

Stewart is humble, less egotistical and largely courteous to his guests (even those he disagrees with). Stewart does humor/comedy sooo much better than BOR (who fancies himself to be a humorist). Stewart hasn’t set out to destroy anyone nor has he called himself as a journalist. Meanwhile, BOR has indeed referred to himself as a journalist (bwaaah!) and he has gone so far as to try and destroy (and succeeded in a few cases) some of those he disagrees with. He has berated and totally disrespected some of his guests. He likes to toot his own horn and, as this rant shows us, he is completely self-absorbed. Stewart has perfected the media criticism/political absurdity genre with humor, intellect and quick wit – he deserves his due (and without the “what about me?” whining from BOR). Had the roles been reversed and it was BOR who was retiring this year, I have no doubt that Stewart would not have thrown a hissy fit and attempted to draw attention to himself the way BOR did.

Personally, I like Steve St John’s take – Bill is a prick, Jon isn’t. Spot on, Steve, and that’s one reason why I’ll pop the cork on a bottle of champagne when BOR finally gets off the airwaves.

If it’ll make you feel any better Bill, we’ll see to it that you have better funeral than Jon. There. Happy now?

“Numbers trap”

Yeah, lemme explain ratings. Justin Bieber still holds all three of the top spots for most viewed Youtube videos ever. One is the music video for “Baby.” The other two are:

Him getting hit in the face with a partially frozen water bottle.

A character he played on the show CSI getting brutally gunned down by the police.

How about one of the Fox News interns go and get Bill, so that he can explain what’s wrong with this picture. That way, I’ll know he’s capable of comprehending why his show gets the ratings it does, without the tired old analogy of why Springer was king.

Well, we’re certainly looking forward to your demise, Bill! (Oh stop it…I just mean from television, you half-wit!)

With all his money, education, a number one show on fox,he’ll never be excepted or respected for his journalism skills, because he has to know that he’s not working for a news outlet. Bill can never rub shoulder with the so call elites and Hollywood type, that is what really eating at him, they see him as nothing more than an asshole, that simple.

Yes, it must be media trickery. It’s impossible to conceive that one person might be more loved than another.

Oh, Bill’s just upset because the majority of his audience don’t have the necessary long-term memory* to be aware that he’d be gone. And anyone who did notice his being gone would simply assume he’s been moved to a time slot after their bedtime (or they’d been asleep during his show).

*I honestly believe that even goldfish have longer memory spans than the typical FoxNoise audience member.

Oh, don’t worry poor, persecuted and misunderstood bor. You’ll get your “praise” when you bless us all by leaving this world. It won’t be in the same vane as what Jon Stewart experienced…trust me. You are no Jon Stewart, you clumbsy fool.
I love to listen to the reich wingers whine and snivvle when they feel so beset on by reality. It’s sort of like expecting W to get the same respect around the world that President Obama is getting. It’s NOT in the same sphere of reality….get a clue, dumb ass.

Bill, I thought of another possible reason for the discrepancy – you’re a prick and Jon’s not.

Stewart makes people laugh and O’Reilly enrages them. So it’s just a little different. Sometimes O’Reilly makes us laugh, but laughing at someone is different than laughing with them. This segment doesn’t prove liberal media bias but it does show us that O’Reilly still wants to be Most Popular Boy at school. Thanks for the laughs O’Reilly!

I’m not sure he’ll be “looking down” from anywhere.

If there is a Hell, I’m sure BillO will have a seat right up front.

I would orchestrate a huge send off for him. If only he would retire.

You are right Bile within 24 hours of your retirement or demise you will be dismissed as a infectious disease.

I don’t think you should be so optimistic about where you’ll be watching the coverage from!
