Bill O’Reilly ‘Gives Glenn Beck a Hearing’ on Saudi Student Coverup Theory

Posted by Margarita -3pc on April 26, 2013 · Flag

Glenn Beck will leave no stone unturned to get on TV get to the truth in the case of a Saudi national questioned and then released just after the Boston Marathon bombing. Last night, barely half an hour after Bill O’Reilly promised to quash any high profile person who “spout[ed] gibberish about deadly terrorism” he listened patiently while Beck spouted huge gobbets of gibberish about a Department of Homeland Security “coverup” involving the student.

The 22-year-old student was initially put on a DHS watch list and subject to intense scrutiny, but was finally released and his watch list status removed because it was determined he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. We’ve already reported on Fox's early flurry of interest in what DHS might be "hiding" about the student, but most of it died away after the Tsarnaev brothers were identified and hunted down. Except for Glenn Beck; he's glommed onto it as his latest conspiracy theory and is digging up all the details you don't need to know in an “expose” on The Blaze – which I am not linking to because even though the student's been ruled out as a suspect the article  not only names him but shows a photograph. At least Fox News didn’t go that far.

Beck began by saying that DHS Director Janet Napolitano put the student on a watch list because of her “racism” (a gratuitous cheap shot that he didn’t follow up). The student, he said, was given a designation called a 212,3B (holding up a piece of paper which he said “sources” had given him) which is “a terrorist designation of the highest order.” The 212,3B, Beck said, described the student as “armed and dangerous." But, he went on, “after the President meets with the Saudis and after [Secretary of State] John Kerry meets with the Saudis, he’s no longer a person of interest…” He added that DHS had since put firewalls around the document. “Somebody goes in and…tries to get rid of all the evidence after the Blaze reports it... Who is this guy? Where is this guy?”

Will we ever find out what the truth is? O’Reilly asked. Yes, Beck replied, there are “six Congressmen” on it. All that’s needed is someone in the press willing to go in with him on it. “We’re always willing to give you a hearing,” O’Reilly replied. (Was that sarcasm, gentle reader? Some of Beck’s devoted followers certainly took it that way).

By the way, Beck is putting out a new book shortly. And is getting a "Disruptive Innovator of the Year Award" from the Tribeca Film Festival.

Beck Shares 3rd Boston Suspect Theory With O'Reilly, Claims White House 'Hiding The Saudi Connections'

For the past week or so, Glenn Beck has been touting a theory that the Saudi national initially brought in for questioning in the investigations over the Boston Marathon bombing may be more connected to the terror attack than we thought.

This is from Media Matters: reports that only this week the Blaze sent e-mails to Congressmen asking if they’d “be willing to raise” the Blaze’s claims with DHS.

Was the “I’ve got six Congressmen on it” remark true or just wishful thinking?

Glenn Beck is still around?

WOW! It only seems like yesterday when I started writing about The Beckerhead for NewsHounds: http://www.newshounds.us/auntys_antics/

Since he left Fox “News” I have barely given him a waking thought, but he does haunt my nightmares. Yet, dear readers, I was brave enough to look my nightmare in the face. Read: The Day I Shook Hands With Glenn Beck – http://notnowsilly.blogspot.com/2012/07/nostalgia-aint-what-it-used-to-be-day-i.html

With all my love,

Actor Glenn Beck’s followers are not fans of Billy. In fact, many right wing extremists are not fans of Billy either.

Many conservative talk show hosts can’t stand the Actor. They accuse him of stealing their materials and not give them credit. No wonder the Actor left New York. He made too many enemies.

The Actor is in for a rude awakening. A fellow conservative mouthpiece plans to steal his thunder very soon, and tell the masses that he was the first one to reveal the truth about the Boston bombers.

Grab a drink and a box of popcorn. This latest showdown between the Actor and conservative nemesis will be very entertaining.

Good gawd, BOR, you brought on Bek? Really?! Geez.

I heard Bek ranting about this on his radio show, you know, building up the hype right before he had his toadies post the “exposé” on the Blaze. He gave his listeners a lot of the same old bullish!t about how the “liberal media” is supposedly covering for the Obama admin and how he is going to bring Janet Napolitano down because he’s in touch with “brave” ICE agents who are willing to leak Homeland Security papers to him.

Btw, if something bad happens to Bek, just know that Obama’s gubmint cronies were behind it. (eye roll)

Glenn Beck is desperate to get people killed. While other far right hosts are just proud of themselves when their names are cited on violence, Beck gets disappointed that it didn’t go far enough. I mean, visibly disappointed, if you have video.

Remember that lady who was going to blow up a military base over the so-called “FEMA camps”? He was upset no one was hurt in the attempt.

How about when that nut shot up san Francisco? He was upset the officers were only wounded, and immediately began trying to inspire a copycat.

Even instances where someone was killed and he’s cited as an influence, like that cop killer? He was more concerned about the number than that he was named as an influence by a cop killer.

No wonder him and Bill “I reported accurately”O’Reilly are such good friends.

And here’s the Glenn Beck “WTF?” moment of the week. Frankly, the segment was jaw-dropping.

The reality is you have a young student who was injured along with many other people, and who was questioned about the situation. And he was very cooperative and nobody had a problem. After which, Homeland Security takes the caution label off, since there’s nothing to see here and they do have real suspects with whom to deal. Literally a case of “nothing to see here”.

And here comes Glenn Beck, who’s POSITIVE that there must be a conspiracy or a pony in here somewhere.

I personally enjoyed his comment about how he has ten sources feeding him this information. Really? Would he care to say where any of these people actually work? Are there really 10 people? Or are there maybe two disgruntled employees with a few sock puppet email accounts? Or do any of these people really exist? Of course, I’m not saying that Beck would present imaginary people to buttress his bogus claims. I’m just asking questions…

Wanna bet that amongst the wingnut Congressmen who signed on to Becktard’s latest conspiracy fantasy include Mad Housewife Michele Bachmann and Darrell The Torch Issa?
