Are The Hiked-Up Skirts On Fox News Just A Coincidence?

Have you noticed how often those short skirts and dresses on the female Fox News hosts hike up? Do you think it's just a coincidence how often that happens?

If you're wearing a short dress or a short skirt and you cross your legs, it's almost guaranteed to ride up.

I've collected some screen grabs of Outnumbered, which has four female cohosts, over the last several months. Check out how all the ladies seem to have their legs crossed at all times, thus exposing more thigh.

In the screen grab below, Meghan McCain, second from the right, in a red dress, is the exception to the rule. Her dress is long and she has her legs crossed demurely at the ankle. The wreaths on the window show that this screen grab came from a show around Christmas.

But in this grab, from January, 2016, Ms. McCain has now gotten right with the program.

It's not just Outnumbered.

Do you think someone tells these women to wear short skirts and cross their legs? Or do they just all think the same way?

I report, you decide.

Member Marco in here pondered “What happens to these women when they get old and pot bellied.”

That’s easy, they follow the path of Palin (who has not aged well at all). They tell these women to hit the bricks. (I accurately predicted that after the novelty of Palin wore out, and as she aged, Fox would take her off the air because then she simply sounded and looked like a nuttier-than-squirrel-sheet old bag.)

Sure puts the fear of the Lord in these ho cakes. Kimberly Guilfoyle is pushing 50. She knows the gig is up when Spanx, tanners, makeup, wires, wigs, and surgery can’t prevent her physical appearance matching her mental hideousness.

And Guilfoyle ordering the cameramen to keep the camera out of focus and not do closeups can work only so long. At some point the bosses are not going to allow aging female talent appear in the shot the size of postage stamps.

It is horribly unprofessional. There’s not a corporation or large business in the United States (or world) that would permit women to dress in this manner: short skirts, low cut blouses showing maximum cleavage, puffed up flowing hair, and way-too-heavy makeup.

(E.g., ask any one of those women who are or were lawyers, such as Kimberly Guilfoyle, if their employer law firm would allow them to dress in that manner. No way that would happen, unless the firm does not mind losing major clients offended by the female lawyers looking like on-the-prowl for sugar daddies.)

Speaking of Kimberly Guilfoyle, she is the worst offender. When appearing on The Five she wears blouses to show max cleavage. Her skirts are always short. Her hair looks ridiculous, parted in the middle and ratted and spread out to the ends of her shoulders. And the worst, when on the show she insists sitting at the end of the table, this so the camera is dominated by her legs in the shot.

Side Note: Guilfoyle’s motive: To keep and maintain Neanderthal men as fans, those males who judge not on what she says, but instead on how she looks, which is like a desperate home-wrecking ho on the prowl at bars for successful men cheating on their wives, who will treat her like the (pavement) princess she is.

In regards to this being coincidence, of course it is not. FNC has bosses just like any broadcaster does. It is not coincidence that those bosses tell the talent to dress like as if going to a Friday happy hour to snag or trap a man to wed.

I guess it could be coincidence that no other broadcaster allows their female talent to dress like it is New Years Eve, and those who do dress like flirty high schoolers just happen to have ended up employed at Fox.

I wish Fox News reporters would dress more modestly. It’s embarrassing!

I agree…it’s inappropriate…and it sends the wrong message…even cnn female commentators have more modesty…the heavy makeup….dangling jewelry…short tight or low cut dresses…it’s not representative ..except for the hypocrisy in the right these days. Women are more attractive and effective when they dress modestly. It’s disappointing for women who do care how they dress. It sends a confused message to young girls also. Many of us women who still have a great shape don’t choose to dress like we need attention or to be sexy…secure women would rather dress modestly ….as its way more attractive anyway…(especially on stage or in church ).

It is difficult to accept that these women who studied hard at college and stay atop of world news reports permit Roger Ayles to reduce them to nothing more than eye candy. Do you think it’s because Fox is worried what the women say will not sound educated enough and thereby hope people will look at the legs more and listen less? Is that why Fox has high viewer numbers? Ever notice they wear sleeveless dresses in the dead of winter? How ridiculous is that? It makes these women look absolutely brainless. Some of these women have Master’s Degrees, and still others have Juris Doctor Degrees. What message do they send? I think they’re telling their daughters: You don’t need to study and do well in college dear, if you keep your figure and get a job like mommy’s, no one will pay any attention to what you have to say. And don’t forget to apply two coats of mascara over the false eyelashes. Let’s remember to include Fox Business channel with the Outnumbered bunch. Trish Regan’s husband must not watch her on TV because some of her dresses are so incredibly short they barely tuck under her ass. James A. Ben (husband) works at Rothschild. And Trish was once nominated for an Emmy, was it for doing a strip tease? It is demeaning to women. How can these so-called journalists permit themselves to be used like a piece of meat? Not MSNBC, CNN or any other liberal network does this. And Fox is supposed to be conservative? Apparently conservative no longer goes hand-in-hand with family values.

I can’t take them seriously, their newsreporting is as shallow and short-sighted as their short skirts, they’ve reduced themselves to cheap entertainers more conscious of how fluttery their fake long lashes look to how pouty and glossy their lips to how silky their legs look, just bout the only thing “Christian conservative” bout these tarty anchors are the soles of their stilettos!!

These women are just hoes. They’ll do and say ANYTHING for money. Hell, they’d be sitting there butt naked if Roger Ailes asked them to.

Hey, I’m a Libbie, but ever watch 60 Minutes? Leslie Stahl? It ain’t like anyone wants to see Steve Croft’s legs! Besides, this is the only way Fox can keep its base of lecherous old white guys tuned in. Must be working, here’s newshound.com writing about it.

FYI, the report that Jenna Jameson was hired by Fox, as believable as it was, came from a fake news site.

You won’t see, say, a Candy Crawly type on Fox News because serious analysis and journalism isn’t their point.

Some mentioned makeup. While it’s not true of all of the Barbie dolls reading Fox News teleprompters, some slather on the makeup with a putty knife to mask the flaws and try to keep up with the Barbies. A classic case is Kimberly Guilfoyle. I know I’ll be written off as a hater but most circus clowns have subtler makeup jobs. 😵

It’s common knowledge Ailes put out a (short & tight?) dress directive for the ladies but I wonder if he picks out the Barbies himself because so many of them look so much alike?

Yes, beautiful women can be smart. Yes, TV is a visual medium. But my favorite news source, PBS, picks reporters and anchors for their talent and experience first. Not much eye candy there but their news leaves Fox eating its dust trail.

If Roger and his audience want a thrill up their geriatric 3rd leg, take some Viagra and visit Pornhub. 👍

The women are attractive now, what happens when they get old and pot bellied? And they should take notice of Robin Meade, she is classy and crosses her legs without the knee prop. Anyway I don’t know why old men care about girls legs, but the sex starved creepers will be watching other things now that Rover Ailes has hired Jenna Jameson.

AND they wear low cut tops showing the top of their breasts.

It is embarrassing watching with my children who we have taught to dress MODESTLY.

You would think a conservative cable channel would dress their lady commentators more respectfully!

No, it is not a coincidence. It’s a leggy move that most women I know choose not to do in a professional work setting.

Of these FOX “news” women, only McCain is sitting proper (as in what is officially considered “proper” with regards to women’s public etiquette in a dress/skirt). Maybe they no longer teach today’s girls the proper way to sit in a dress/skirt. But all of these women on the curvy couch are of an age that they know very well that, when sitting in a dress/skirt, you keep your knees together and, if it’s more comfortable to do a leg cross, you do so at the ankle. While propriety (such as preventing up-skirt shots) is a good reason not to cross one’s legs at the knee, it is also advisable not to sit in that posture for extended periods of time because it can cause related physical problems for some people.

And, crossing their legs at the knees may reveal more than just up-skirt shots – it also reveals that the women may not have very strong inner thigh muscles. It takes good inner thigh muscle strength to sit the way McCain is for a very long time period without the knees coming apart. That’s another reason why the Physical Ed teacher used to have the girls in her class do lots of inner thigh exercises. :-)

I call them Fox “News” Bimbos (FNB). In actuality it is a requirement for any FNB to wear spiked heels, short dresses, keep legs crossed, show as much thigh as possible, wear heavy makeup and if possible have blond hair, either natural or bleached, it doesn’t make a difference. Brunettes and other non-blonds are okay, but they must show more leg. As far as journalistic integrity, not a requirement. Intelligence is not required either. But all FNBs must take lessons in how to be a right wing nut job. Lessons are given by Hannity, O’Reilly, Doocy, Kilmeade, just to name a few. So why the FNBs? It is the only way Fox “News” can get dedicated viewership. Clearly, it is not content.

If Fox newsbabes start wearing miniskirts, ratings will go up. And instead of Q & A sessions, they could haveT & A roundtables.

Of course it is not a coincidence. Nor do I blame the women on Fox. They wouldn’t be making the money they do if they didn’t do that. I am no Foxfan but I have no issue here. This is television — an entertainment medium. And the old guys who watch Fox do so in part (I suspect) for this very thing.

Of course it’s not a coincidence. Faux News’ core audience is composed largely of old white men who get a cheap thrill out of ogling the female anchordroids. It’s how they keep their audience watching.

Do you think someone tells these women to wear short skirts and cross their legs? Or do they just all think the same way?

Answer: yes.

The former is a directive from Rupie and Roger — the latter is due to them sharing the same (single) brain cell . . .

Maybe yes, maybe no. I can’t speak to all professions, of course, but I can tell you that in the legal profession, at least for apparel for court, in the multiple jurisdictions I’ve worked in women DON’T wear pants, or at least few do. I got the point about short skirts (which are NOT de rigeur for court). My only point here is that, given short skirts, obviously they will cross their legs. That’s how you sit down in a short skirt. In other words (and probably too many), I was not addressing the hemline, just the style of seating.

As for the men, I would note that in at least one shot a guy has his legs crossed. Many of the other shots are of men with their feet where you say, but they are leaning forward, which is hard for a man to do with legs crossed. More interesting is not the position of their feet, but that they get to lean forward, while the women don’t. But we all know that Fox News is selling its crap via “women in short skirts”. In fact, I don’t know any women who watch it, though I have met many men who do.

As a last point, and here I expect a shitstorm of protest, young women don’t wear short skirts as a simple fashion choice. They have every right to dress as they please, nor should they be harassed for that. But it isn’t a neutral choice. Especially in high school, wearing specific clothing performs many functions beyond the usual, and insecurities dictate fashion.
Joseph West commented 2016-02-16 01:51:22 -0500 · Flag
Jeff, you’re missing the point. Professional women rarely wear skirts ALL the time (as the women of FoxNoise apparently do). Especially not so they reveal as much THIGH as the FoxNoise women seem wanton wont to do. Women on other talk shows—as well as other news programs—wear slacks (something which seems verboten for FoxNoise women). Also, it was usually recommended that professional women wear skirts/dresses that reach their knees (so that when they inevitably “hike up,” there’s less thigh exposed). AND, you might want to consider how many teenaged girls are harassed in high schools for having the audacity to wear skirts/dresses that are deemed “too short” (mostly by middle-aged white men)—yet FoxNoise seems to promote the idea that their “news” women’s clothing is perfectly acceptable “professional” attire.

And, look at how the men in the pictures are seated. It’s so amazing how they’re all seated with their legs spread, having both feet flat on the floor. You’d think that at least one image would be captured of at least one man with his legs crossed. (I’m surprised that none of them are in classic “Al Bundy pose” with one hand down the front of their pants.)
Jeff Ryan commented 2016-02-16 01:19:55 -0500 · Flag
Okay, I’m a guy, but I’ve never seen a woman wearing a short skirt who didn’t cross her legs while sitting. Seriously. You can’t figure that out?

Eyes on Fox, we NewsHounds assisted with the Fox News porn video. I think Melanie, who blogged about Cavuto at the time, had the most input. I probably had the least as I blogged about Hannity & Colmes then. OTOH, I had a lot of input into Fox Attacks Black America. :)
