Andrea Tantaros Accuses Roger Ailes Of Sexual Harassment; Says Senior Execs Knew

Fox News host Andrea Tantaros has joined the growing chorus of women accusing Fox's just-deposed chief, Roger Ailes, of sexual harassment.  However, in this case, Tantaros is also pointing a finger at some senior Fox News management.

Reporter Gabriel Sherman has some more bombshell reporting, this time about the sudden disappearance of Tantaros from the Fox News airwaves:

According to Tantaros’s account, Ailes began harassing her on August 12, 2014. During a meeting in Ailes’s office, Ailes allegedly asked Tantaros to do “the twirl” so he could see her figure. She refused. Then, in mid-December of that year, Ailes made another advance, Burstein says. “Ailes asked her to turn around, and then he said, ‘Come over here so I can give you a hug.’” Tantaros rebuffed the advance, Burstein says.

In February 2015, Tantaros was pulled off the 5 p.m. program The Five and demoted to working full-time on the midday show Outnumbered. In February 2015, according to Burstein, Ailes allegedly harassed Tantaros again in his office, asking about her workout routine because her body “looked good” and mentioning that she must “really look good in a bikini.”

As with the story of former Fox booker Laurie Luhn, who claimed to have been sexually harassed for 20 years by Ailes, the most significant details are probably the least salacious. In Sherman’s reporting on Luhn, executive vice president Bill Shine and general counsel Dianne Brandi were implicated in the cover up. But, through her attorney, Judd Burstein, Tantaros directly implicates Shine, Brandi and senior vice president Suzanne Scott.

On April 30, 2015, Tantaros filed a formal workplace harassment complaint about Ailes to Shine, Burstein says. The following day, Burstein says, Tantaros met with Shine to further discuss her harassment claims. Shine allegedly told her, “Roger is a very powerful man,” and that she “should not fight this.”

In August, her agent spoke with Brandi about the episode; according to the agent, Brandi said she would look into the matter but did not follow up.

In April, Tantaros was suspended from appearing on Fox, supposedly over a contract issue. According to Sherman, Fox stands by that claim.

Recently, it was reported that the law firm hired by Fox parent 21st Century Fox was winding down its independent investigation into Ailes’ sexual harassment, now that he has been forced out of the network. Between this report and yesterday’s report about Ailes using corporate funds to smear his enemies, it looks increasingly unlikely that anyone will be able to say, “There’s nothing else here, time to move along.”

Ellen – I think the Mackriss matter is long enough ago to have about zero chance of modifying O’Bully’s behaviour. The thing with sexual predators, whether they be kiddie fiddlers, workplace bullies or plain old date-rapists, is that it is very seldom a one-off problem.

Oddly enough, the crime with the lowest recidivist rate is murder.

Barbara S,
Not Hannity. Tantaros used to be a regular on The O’Reilly Factor so it could be him but it’s hard to imagine he’d be that foolish after Andrea Macros. But who knows? She was also on The Five.

She’s such a vicious person, it’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to talk to her at all.

I still despise Tantarosaurus Rex with the heat of a thousand suns for her nasty politics and vile hatred of anything Democratic, but no woman should have to put up with this crap at the workplace or any place. I hope she and others will destroy what’s left of FOX and the sick twisted game that they play over there. Now if only she’d pull her head out of her posterior and let some truth into her brain she might be salvageable. But I doubt it. She’s got a high paying gig being a leggy bimbo hater on the network that employs the most of that demographic. Hard to have sympathy for these women that continue to work there and still defend the indefensible.

More women are coming forward. But you won’t read it on The Cable Game.

Nixon Trainee Ailes is in serious, serious, trouble.

I read on Twittr that she also named 2 on-air contributors, a correspondent and a HOST.

What do you think- Hannity or O’Reilly?

The “Ailes Twirl” seems to have been one of the qualifications for employment at Faux.

O’Reilly may be next as he has a history of harassing women, his wife and a Fox employee, and had to settle with both of them.

For 21st Century Fox, don’t follow the money. Follow the Leg Show.

Well, the juicy details ain’t so juicy. But it sounds like sexual harassment in the workplace at Faux is just a given thing. “Tow the party line and hitch up your skirt!” seems to be standard operating procedure for female employees. Faux has never been embarrassed about anything, but if this keeps up the parent company’s hand will be forced. Clean house.

I want to find out if the rumor is true about Steve Doocy and the janitor’s closet. The one where he keeps a bottle of corn liquor and two sheep locked up in.

Instead of drip, drip, drip it’s becoming a flash flood.
