Eric Bolling Defends Jesus By Tossing Guest Off Fox Business News

Posted by Headly Westerfield · December 15, 2011 8:44 AM · 6 reactions

One of News Hounds complaints about the Fox “News” Phony War On Christianity (not to be confused with its seasonal Phony War On Christmas) is that the station’s Good Christians only ever seem to talk to the station’s other Good Christians about the Phony War On Christianity.  There is no other point of view on display.  Maybe Bolling has been reading News Hounds, otherwise why would he invite Dan Barker, of the Freedom From Religion Foundation on the air to give the other side of the story?  FFRF is the group protesting the placement of a manger with the baby Jesus at a county courthouse in Texas.  Several Fox “News” televangelists had taken up the Texas manger previously, with Bolling even paraphrasing a phone conversation he had with Freedom From Religion spokesperson on The Five, who argued for the inclusion of the Flying Spaghetti Monster at the manger.  This would have been the first time, to the best of my knowledge, that we’d actually be hearing from someone from that organization.  However, if you were hoping to hear an intellectual debate, you’d be sorely disappointed.  Aside from Bolling’s lack of intelligence, the minute Barker started espousing his group’s view on what Jesus represents, Bolling took great umbrage on behalf of the Son of God.

Fox News Graphic Mixes Up Obama With Romney

Posted by Ellen · December 15, 2011 2:07 AM · 9 reactions

Fox News’ graphics department has made some stunning mistakes this week but this one takes the cake! On yesterday’s America Live, a chart that purported to be a graphic of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates’ standing in Iowa had a photograph of President Obama over the name “Romney.” We’ve reported lately about how Fox has shown favoritism toward the anyone-but-Romney candidate.  Is Fox trying to send a subliminal message to its viewers about Romney or just shockingly inept? I report, you decide!

GOP Civil War! Hannity v. Malkin On GOP Primary

Posted by Ellen · December 15, 2011 12:25 AM · 4 reactions

Sean Hannity has been so upset with the National Review Online’s scathing assessment of Newt Gingrich’s candidacy that he forgot to attack President Obama during most of his discussion with Michelle Malkin last night (12/14/11). Malkin not only defended NRO, she offered her own criticisms of both Romney and Gingrich.

O’Reilly Argues The Government Does Not Run The Military

Posted by Ellen · December 14, 2011 2:03 PM · 12 reactions

Bill O’Reilly was so desperate to shoot down health care reform that he tied himself into a ridiculous knot he could not untie last night. It started when Alan Colmes challenged O’Reilly’s assertion that the government is not good at running anything. “Can they run the military?” Colmes asked.

Steve Doocy & Hate Group Member Advance War On Christians/Christmas Memes

Posted by Priscilla · December 13, 2011 4:42 PM

The newest "outrage" to hit the church of the perpetually outraged Christians is the eviction of a group of Christmas carolers from a Silver Spring Maryland Post Office. Always eager to provide a pulpit for the outrage, Fox & Friends hosted JP Duffy, from the SPLC designated homophobic hate group, The Family Research Council, to talk about this egregious offense. Duffy just happened to witness the caroler toss and blogged that the incident was just another example of "militant secularists" who "team up with federal bureaucrats in the effort to sterilize the public square of anything remotely connected to anything religious." This is obviously in keeping with the faux, Fox "war on Christmas." So it was no surprise to see Duffy getting a warm welcome from Christian/Christmas warrior Steve Doocy on this morning's Fox & Friends.

Hannity Makes A Big Deal Out Of Christine 'Not A Witch' O’Donnell’s Endorsement Of Mitt Romney

Posted by Ellen · December 13, 2011 2:42 PM

If there’s a doubt in anyone’s mind that Fox News will cheerlead almost any Republican, no matter how foolish or inconsequential, check out tonight's Hannity segment that trumpeted Christine "I'm not a witch" O’Donnell’s endorsement for the 2012 Republican primary. The thought crossed my mind that the whole thing was a sneaky way of making Romney look bad. But even if Hannity’s praise of O'Donnell didn't seem quite sincere, he sure did a good job of looking like his good wishes for her and Romney were.

Sean Hannity And Ainsley Earhardt Go To Bat For Segregation In Westchester County

Posted by Ellen · September 08, 2011 4:29 PM

States’ rights has long been code for anti-integration. Sean Hannity made "county rights" sound like "states rights," with the exact same inference, with some help from Fox News "reporter" Ainsley Earhardt. Together, they insinuated that the Obama administration wanted to force integration on Westchester County. Hannity’s very troubling record on race has long flown under the radar screen. Let’s hope with this blatant stand for segregation it will get more attention.
