Hannity Lectures “The Obamas” Author Jodi Kantor For Not Portraying Obama As A Secret Radical

Posted by Ellen · February 17, 2012 12:24 AM · 8 reactions

Most likely author Jodi Kantor had never spent a moment watching Hannity before she agreed to appear on the show to discuss her big-selling book, The Obamas. Otherwise, she would not have looked so utterly bewildered last night as Sean Hannity first praised her work then argued that she had missed the “hidden,” radical Obama and lectured her to “do your investigative work in the future.”

Robert Greenwald: Tell Koch Brothers To Testify About XL Pipeline

Posted by Ellen · February 16, 2012 10:43 PM

Filmmaker Robert Greenwald and our friends at Brave New Foundation’s Koch Brothers Exposed are calling on the Koch Brothers to testify about their interest in the XL Pipeline. Greenwald writes, “Why will Charles and David Koch produce a video about their position on the Keystone XL oil pipeline and not testify before Congress about it? The Koch brothers have refused to answer questions about how they stand to profit from the Keystone XL pipeline, a 1,700-mile long boondoggle that would cut through six states and damage American homes and farmland.”

Steve Doocy and Psycho Doc Keith Ablow Stigmatize Mental Illness in “Get Brock” Segment

Posted by NewsHound Alex · February 16, 2012 8:57 PM · 8 reactions

On Wednesday’s (2/15) Fox and Friends, Steve Doocy and Dr. Keith Ablow behaved like stoned college kids with a copy of the DSM IV as they proceeded to diagnose Media Matters chief David Brock, the bête noir of Fox News.  In the course of their analysis, the TV insta-shrink and the Clown on the Curvy Couch managed to stigmatize the mentally ill, insult adoptees, and violate medical ethics. With video.

Cavuto Helps Spin Bill To Remove Tax Credit For Buying Electric Cars

Posted by Brian · February 16, 2012 6:09 PM

On yesterday’s Your World, Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) got a few minutes to attack President Obama for increasing the tax credit for electric cars from $7500 to $10,000. Neil Cavuto began the segment with a red strobe light and siren signaling what he called a “budget alert.”

Dick Morris: ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Is A “Paid Democratic Hit Man”

Posted by Ellen · February 16, 2012 2:11 PM · 4 reactions

A few days ago, Dick Morris announced on Hannity that, based on George Stephanopoulos’ debate questions to Mitt Romney about contraception, Stephanopoulos must be a “paid Democratic hit man.” Last night, Bill O’Reilly shot down Morris’ theory – not that Stephanopoulos was acting as a Democratic operative, but that he was paid for it.

Steve Doocy Claims Media Matters Waging War On Catholics

Posted by Priscilla · February 16, 2012 1:47 PM · 3 reactions

As in the dystopian world of 1984, where the wars were ongoing, the world of Fox News is a world at war. And just as Orwell's wars were fictional, so are the bogus wars of Fox News which are wedge issues used to divide Americans. And while the Fox "war on Christmas" is seasonal, their "war on Christians/Catholics" is always being fought. This morning, on Fox & Friends, Steve Doocy was able to morph the "war on Catholics" with Fox's claim that Media Matters is waging war on Fox News. Aiding and abetting Fox's counterattack was Vince Coglianese, who is part of the right wing Daily Caller's hit piece against Media Matters - a series that has all the journalistic integrity of a James O'Keefe or Lila Rose hit piece. ("Weak Tea" as described by a Reuters writer) But there is rich irony in that Fox news, in sourcing from the right wing Daily Caller, is doing the same that that the evil, librul MSM is accused of doing with Media Matters. But Fox is "fair & balanced," so it's all good.

The Daily Show Takes On Liz Trotta's Comments About Women In The Military

Posted by Ellen · February 16, 2012 11:32 AM · 3 reactions

Liz Trotta's jaw-dropping comments that women in the military should expect to be raped didn't escape the notice of The Daily Show. I'd say they got their just rewards of skewering humor from Jon Stewart and Samantha Bee Tuesday night (2/14/12). Enjoy!

Is Eric Bolling Racist, Insensitive, Or Just Plain Cruel?

Posted by Headly Westerfield · February 16, 2012 8:46 AM · 7 reactions

Eric Bolling’s history of race-baiting and hypocrisy is well-documented at NewsHounds.  Like the time he said President Obama had invited “a hoodlum in the hizzouse,” for which he issued a non-apology apology.  Just last week, right on the heels of giving Bob Beckel crap for not paying enough respect to Rep. Allen West, he joked about the president being head of “Barry’s Pot And Coke Emporium.”  Today, while filling in for Gretchen Carlson on Fox and Friends, he took the drug analogy one step further when he warned Rep. Maxine Waters “Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston. Step away from the crack pipe, step away from the Xanax, step away from the Lorazepam because it’s going to get you in trouble.”  At least he called her Congresswoman, showing the proper respect to her office.

Sarah Palin And Greta Van Susteren Pretend Americans Oppose New Contraception Mandate

Posted by Ellen · February 15, 2012 9:07 PM · 3 reactions

Sarah Palin visited On The Record last night to discuss what FoxNews.com called “Obama’s contraception controversy.” While it’s true top church leaders continue to oppose President Obama’s mandate that Catholic-affiliated institutions offer contraception as part of health insurance coverage, most Americans and most Catholic Americans support it. However, Palin claimed otherwise and Van Susteren did not correct the record. In fact, she did her own part in promoting the misapprehension that the measure is unpopular.
