Martha MaCallum & Fox VP Ignore Pedophilia Scandal During Papal Lovefest
That the alleged "Fair & Balanced" Fox News is a propaganda vehicle for the conservative positions of the Catholic Church isn't a surprise given that, along with the many Catholics in the ranks of *Fox hosts, there is a conservative Catholic near the top of the Fox News hierarchy. John Moody, Fox News Executive Vice President and executive editor is a staunch conservative Catholic who once wrote an article about how offended he was by Rev. Jeremiah Wright's black liberation theology. And as Fox's top RC, he used the alleged Fox News show "America's Newsroom," today, to discuss Pope Benedict's resignation and, in so doing, positively gush over the awesomeness of the Pope. Alleged news host and conservative Catholic Martha MacCallum shared the love.

Karl Rove may have returned to his role as neutral analyst on Fox News but anyone who knows anything about politics also knows that he has formed a new SuperPac designed to prevent “non-electable” Republicans (think Todd Akin and Christine O’Donnell) from getting nominated. That has provoked long-simmering Republican resentments against Rove to erupt. Saturday night, Mike Huckabee took to the Fox News airwaves and went straight after "some people in the conservative movement and the Republican Party" who "think our way forward is to manipulate the primary process."

The news of Pope Benedict's surprise resignation topped the chart on this morning's news shows. And while some of the discussion involved questions surrounding the Pope's health, there was more than a mention of the global and systemic Catholic clergy sexual abuse scandal which has enveloped not only the papacy of Benedict, but his role as a bishop in Germany and head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. But in the sacred sanctuary of Fox & Friends, neither the "Friends" nor Fox's resident clergyman Fr. Jonathan Morris mentioned this stain on the papacy which, in addition to sexual abuse, includes allegations of Vatican corruption. Interesting.
Read moreWallace Pressures Pelosi: Tell Your ‘Liberal Friends’ In Hollywood To ‘Knock Off’ The Violence
As many here at News Hounds probably know, Nancy Pelosi is proposing a budget for a scientific study into how large a role pop culture plays in violence. If you want my opinion, this is a great idea, because it can give us much needed insight into both the mental health issue and how much (if any) of a role movies and video games play. Unfortunately, on today's Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace didn’t just question the need for such a study, he more or less told her to ditch it and start pressuring her “liberal friends” in Hollywood to, as he put it, “knock it off.”

There are numerous Christian denominations in the US. But the only Sunday preaching on Fox "News" is from Fr. Jonathan Morris, a Catholic priest who is a former high ranking member of a disgraced Catholic order whose leader pandered to the rich and famous while sexually abusing seminarians and fathering children out of wedlock. As the special and one true Fox priest, Morris promotes right wing propaganda especially that which is in synch with the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, headed by Fox fave Cardinal Timothy Dolan. Today, Morris spoke about his "Lent Challenge 2013" which is his methodology to get right in "body, mind, and soul." He even suggested that non-Christians participate. Really?

Nancy Pelosi was a guest on Fox News Sunday today. During the interview, Chris Wallace asked what may be the mother of all “Cavuto Marks” of a question. Pelosi gave as good as she got.

Just because Sean Hannity is outraged over deceptive editing by other media outlets is no reason not to engage in that practice himself! How else to explain his "major bombshell" about President Obama being "virtually absent" during the Benghazi attack? And "forgetting" to air the testimony of General Martin Dempsey who made a point of correcting the record to say that the staff was engaged in the way it "normally" works.

Bill O'Reilly claims that "rules of civility are pretty much finished." But in December, when an African-American sports writer, who accused the NRA of being like the KKK, refused to appear on O'Reilly's show, O'Reilly accused him of promoting hate speech. He claimed that Jason Whitlock, who accurately described O'Reilly as a "TV entertainer" who is "crying about the end of white establishment America," is "using base emotion to try to injure people." The next evening, O'Reilly called out those in the media who use hate speech which he described as "speech designed to marginalize and harm an adversary, business rival or someone else the hater doesn't like." He added that those who use hate speech "want onlookers to join you in harming the person you're defaming" and that hate speech is about "inciting bad feelings against another human being." Obviously, by his own standards, Bill O'Reilly used hate speech when he defamed Dr. George Tiller whom he is still defaming. Never mind irony, got hypocrisy!

Apparently, Sean Hannity found his deceptive exploitation of the California cop-killer manhunt so nice that he did it twice (so far). Last night, Hannity trotted out Tucker Carlson and Kirsten Powers for a bogus depiction of suspect Christopher Dorner as a Democrat followed by a kangaroo-court style verdict that adjudged the left as the guilty party.

Our old pal Suzanne Venker is back on FoxNews.com – still trashing feminism and demanding a return to the values of traditional marriage. But the last laugh’s on her because somehow her picture of traditional wedded bliss was – wait for it – two women who were the first same-sex couple to be married at the Empire State Building.
