Keith Ellison Is Right: Hannity Has A Long History Of Falsehoods
Although much has been made of the optics and the fact of the confrontation between Democratic Congressman Keith Ellison and Sean Hannity, much less attention has been paid to the substance of Ellison's allegations. For one thing, it bears emphasizing that the video that set off Ellison was a mashup video, obviously designed to put President Obama in as negative a light as possible, presented by Hannity as an introduction to their discussion. But more important were Ellison's allegations that Hannity has a long history of making truth secondary to his political agenda. Media Matters came up with ten examples of Hannity falsehoods. I found several more.

While Fox News claims that its actual "news" is "fair & balanced," much of its alleged "news" programming serves a blatant right wing agenda. That Fox "news" is the media outlet for the most radical extremists in the anti-abortion movement was underscored in a recent Bret Baier piece. Alleged news man Baier provided a national media platform for anti-abortion fanatics who are exploiting the tragic death of a young woman who died during a late term abortion. While the family was grieving their loss, anti-abortion activists, who were able to obtain confidential information about the patient, blasted the woman's name and picture across the internet. Her family was accused of, among other things, being bad Catholics and baby killers. The fanatics claim that the doctor "murdered" the patient while the reality is that she died from a rare complication that also happens in childbirth. Baier's biased report, in advancing the anti-abortion narrative about the doctor's malfeasance, further exploited this woman and defamed her memory. "Real journalism" at it's finest!
Read moreMegyn Kelly’s Right-Wing Rehab For Sean Hannity Vs. Keith Ellison
Megyn Kelly has been a busy Fox News right-wing rehabber lately. Just two days after she spent a segment giving credibility to disgraced Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro, she was back at it yesterday over Sean Hannity’s epic and viral confrontation with Rep. Keith Ellison the night before

In addition to fearing and loathing African-Americans, gays, and Muslims, Fox radio's "fundamentalist barking dog," Todd Starnes seems to have a problem with undocumented immigrants. His latest hissy fit involves the release of 300 undocumented immigrants, in anticipation of budget cuts, from federal custody in Arizona. Like his fellow right wing xenophobes, he's concerned that these folks will immediately go on raping and pillaging rampages in nice, white neighborhoods. The reality is that these immigrants are not hard core criminals. Many of them were jailed after having been picked up by AZ police who are required to turn over suspected "illegals" to the feds, even for minor traffic offenses. ICE says that these released inmates will still be processed for deportation. But facts don't matter for Jesus and fatty food loving Starnes who is encouraging his twerps to stockpile their weaponry! And not surprisingly, they're locked, loaded, and loving every minute of it!
Read moreMichelle Malkin: Conservatives Need To Have Fun Like ‘Marie Antoinette’ Michelle Obama
In case you missed it, Michelle Malkin has made a video parodying Michelle Obama’s and Jimmy Fallon’s viral “The Evolution Of Mom Dancing.” It’s kinda sorta funny for a few seconds if you don’t mind that Malkin has none of the charm, sweetness or self-effacing qualities of the original. She’s just mean-spirited and accusing – her only two characteristics, apparently. But without a bit of irony, she told a gushing Sean Hannity that conservatives need to have more fun. Why? Not for the joy of it but because it makes the “liberal left” “more hateful.” (UPDATE: video has been replaced)
Read moreFather Jonathan Morris Violated 'Burbank Airport' Security?
Fox News specializes in fomenting fear of Islamic terrorism. So you imagine Fox's reaction if a dark skinned man, in traditional Middle Eastern garb, was allowed to pass through an airport gate in order to reunite a plane passenger with an object left behind in the seating area! Fox talkers would be calling for sending both the potential Islamic terrorist and the gate staff to Gitmo for waterboarding. But when it's done by a petite, baby faced, white guy wearing a Roman Collar, it's all shits and giggles from the Fox friends who, on Sunday, were quite amused by official Fox priest, Fr. Jonathan Morris', airport escapade. In what seems to be yet another in a string of self aggrandizing and possibly apocryphal attempts to garner the kind of gushing adoration reserved for Catholic saints, Fr. Morris regaled the curvy couch crew with his tale of a heroic airport action that garnered him a "huge ovation." Nice to know the airport folks are so trusting?! Hopefully Al Qaeda wasn't watching.

Along with being ever vigilant about the creeping gay agenda, Fox Radio's Todd Starnes is always on the alert for creeping Sharia in Jesus' favorite country. In January, he had his nice, white Christian panties in a wad because a Colorado high school culture club had said the Pledge of Allegiance in - OMG - the satanic Arabic language. Monday, he broke the story, now gone viral in the Islamophobic blogosphere, about how patriotic Texas Christians are outraged because a teacher brought Islamic garb to school which she then allowed students to voluntarily try on. Students also claimed that the teacher told the students to refer to Muslim terrorists as "freedom fighters." So as the media morning mouthpiece for anti-Muslim hysteria and Christian victimization, it wasn't surprising that Fox & Friends got in on the action this morning by presenting the issue as an "outrage" and part of the "trouble with schools."

Bill O’Reilly took nearly half the time of his 5:29 discussion segment with Senator Marco Rubio last night to coach him about how he should have handled that now-infamous drink of water during his State of the Union rebuttal speech. O’Reilly insisted he would have done the same thing for a Democrat – and maybe so. But I doubt he would have spent 2:30 minutes of Fox News airtime for the friendly lesson.

Poor Sean Hannity. Not long after his epic confrontation with Congressman Keith Ellison, he got called “fat” by his own colleague, Tamara Holder. Not only that, but she said, “All Republicans or most Republicans are fat-asses. She also said that most Republicans are from the south “and they’re the fattest things.”

Rep. Keith Ellison had an epic confrontation with Sean Hannity tonight over one of Hannity’s mashup videos that purported to smear President Obama over the sequester. Or, as Hannity called it, "a Hannity highlight reel of President Panic in action." Ellison didn’t mince his words, telling Hannity, “Quite frankly, you are the worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen.” Things went downhill from there until Hannity finally ended the interview.
