Michelle Malkin: Conservatives Need To Have Fun Like ‘Marie Antoinette’ Michelle Obama

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on February 27, 2013 · Flag

In case you missed it, Michelle Malkin has made a video parodying Michelle Obama’s and Jimmy Fallon’s viral “The Evolution Of Mom Dancing.” It’s kinda sorta funny for a few seconds if you don’t mind that Malkin has none of the charm, sweetness or self-effacing qualities of the original. She’s just mean-spirited and accusing – her only two characteristics, apparently. But without a bit of irony, she told a gushing Sean Hannity that conservatives need to have more fun. Why? Not for the joy of it but because it makes the “liberal left” “more hateful.” (UPDATE: video has been replaced)

Of course, the Hannity segment showcasing Malkin’s parody started with hostility. Hannity whined that Michelle Obama is becoming a “full-fledged celebrity” who made, as the banner on the screen read, “5 TV appearances in past week.” Oh, noes! I’ll bet my YouTube that if Laura Bush or Ann Romney were to be so appealing and likeable, Fox would be crowing about it. But since it’s a Democratic First Lady, Hanniy whined, “Critics are warning that the First Lady is being over-exposed.”

Oh, and did I mention Malkin can’t dance a fraction as well as Mrs. Obama? Dressed all in black, with big sunglasses and a Cleopatra-type wig that was supposed to mock Mrs. Obama's new do, Malkin did the “Grab Your Wallet,” the “Raise the Debt Ceiling,” the “Lapdog Media Swoon,” etc. All with a smile of derision.

“I’ve had a lot of fun with it,” Malkin said. “And the more fun that conservatives can show, the madder and the more hateful the liberal left gets.” With her perpetual sneer, she said she couldn’t believe the “amount of vitriol that this silly little video that I did in my basement has caused.” Yeah, the silly little video whose only purpose was to demean and denigrate what had been good-natured fun. But listening to Malkin complain about vitriol from anyone else is good for a chuckle.

“I think it was the wig, Sean,” Malkin quipped. Which is probably the height of hilarity she'll ever reach.

After lecturing Hannity viewers about the serious matters raised by Michelle Obama’s popularity “charm offensive” and then “congratulating” Mrs. Obama for being able to connect with regular folks after having lived a life of privilege her whole life (which is not true), Malkin sniffed that it’s the media that makes Mrs. Obama so well-liked, not her - well, likeability.

“I have to say I can match her moves. My “Finger of Blame” dance is every bit as good as her “Sprinkler,” Malkin said. Now THAT was funny. What was even funnier was how the adorable Evolution of Mom Dancing video, playing on the split screen, upstaged the Malkin/Hannity sour grapes on the other side.

“He goes to Florida to play golf with Tiger. …All these rich people. She flies to Aspen. …They take all these extravagant vacations. …Americans are suffering,” Hannity groused. He didn’t mention where he takes vacations but we know he lives in a $8.5 million Long Island estate and he has a luxury penthouse condo in the upscale community of Naples, Florida. So it’s probably safe to assume this multimillionaire doesn’t vacation in an RV park.

“She is on the order of Marie Antoinette,” Malkin sneered. But then she offered up this inspiring lecture for the viewers:

Conservatives need to learn from this, however. Rather than exempting themselves from the culture, they need to be able to make fun of themselves (which, by the way, Malkin never did) at the same time that they’re making serious policy points about how this administration is running us into the ground.

…There’s truth in humor. And I think we need to employ a lot more of it. Because the Hollywood White House Industrial Complex has had a monopoly on how narratives are shaped. We need to do a better job of it. And you know what? The left doesn’t like to see us having fun and being funny. So of course, the first thing they say is (she made a sneering face) ‘It’s not funny.’”

Oh, it’s funny alright. Just not the way Malkin thinks it is.

And for some more fun, check out the Fallon/Obama Mom Dancing video underneath Malkin and Hannity.

UPDATE: The correct video of Hannity and Malkin is now below.

@ Visitor 55: “Can you be specific, maribeth? How, exactly, are First Lady and President Obama “ruining” this country?”

Viz, this is just a guess, but I’m gonna take a stab and say that, according to Maribeth/Come On/U Mad and other rightwingnuts, the President is “ruining” the country merely by being PWB (President While Black.)

As for the FLOTUS, I’m not really sure — perhaps they think her dancing, presenting an Oscar, or emphasizing healthy school lunches are doing it, more so than, say, the looming sequester . . .

And naturally, Fox Nation’s all gushing on this… Read the comments for such gems as “The left needs to be mocked and lampooned more- because they hate it.”

http://nation.foxnews.com/michelle-obama/2013/02/28/malkin-defends-spoof-first-lady-more-fun-conservatives-can-show-madder-liberal-left-gets

No one on the left has a problem with legit spooning of their side. Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, SNL, and 30 Rock prove that we’re more than willing to dig on both sides equally.

The right, however… as evidenced by Crowder, Miller, Grammar, Tea party “satirists”, the show Right 2 Laugh, and this… shows that it’s not considered lampooning unless it’s both vicious and just barely on the proper side of slander. Its on the same page of how we have to think MSNBC’s worse than Fox News, or that Rush Limbaugh’s a saint compared to leftist radio hosts, because what the right does isn’t wrong at all, but what the left does is 50 times worse than reality makes it out to be.

Friggin’ joke.

@susan Jodoin Pardon me Susan — would you mind if I took a guess? I’ll bet the house this word you’re thinking of rhymes with “WITCH”, does it not?

This little Colorado harpie couldn’t dance her way out of a padded cell.

Little Mal talks big on television, but in real life, if you confront her on her ideology, she will get up and walk away from you. See, Little Mal is a coward, just like High End Hannocchio, who refuses to waterboard for charity.

NOTE TO LITTLE MAL

Foolish woman, you call that dancing? A two-legged dog can dance better than you.

Wow, a dance worse than Elaine’s from Seinfeld.

From rohrhide’s comment:

“I loved it because I could take comfort in a ‘Yes!! Someone’s a worse dancer than me!”

Dear rohrhide: That’s because the dance Michelle Malkin does the best is The Elevator, i.e. NO STEPS.

I just found out the wrong Fox video was embedded. It’s correct now so you can watch Malkin, her parody and her comments.

Wonder what MM media role she would be playing if she wasn’t scripted to be so outrageous?

poor malkin is just a bitter hate filled person without a single redeeming quality. Must suck to be her.

We know Malkin can’t write and now we know she can’t dance. Seems her only shot at some form of talent is her leg bounce aimed at the senior citizens watching The Five.

Thing is, I think Malkin’s words about how conservatives need to have more fun are on point. It’s just that her and other conservatives’ idea of fun has gotten extremely warped. They think the meanest thing they can say delivered with a snide voice and a sneer constitutes a joke. Obama was making fun of herself as a mom; it’s hard to see where Malkin was doing anything funny at all, really. It’s sad, really.

From Diane Patyjewicz’s post:

“…is it always complaints and snide remarks?”

Dear Diane: Is the Pope Catholic?

@ mj – the same one’s Ergo mj, it’s time for you to hit the Pepto-Bismol, am I correct? Just FYI, my wife usually takes a BIG swig of it whenever she feels very queasy.

Why do I have O’Reilly interviewing Rubio instead of the nasty Michelle trying to be likeable like the other Michelle whose name must never be mentioned by the former without swerving eyeballs and sneering?
Aria Prescott commented 2013-02-28 02:12:40 -0500 · Flag
Visitor, safe bet on the latter.

Um, I have a video of O’Reilly talking to Marco Rubio. Does anyone else?

It’s unusual to see a parody of a comedy sketch. This could be the first of its kind. I get that the Right doesn’t have a sense of humor but Malkin and Hannity seem not to realize that Fallon and Obama’s skit was comedy! It’s like when Fox News people mistake Jon Stewart for a journalist… so busy being envious that they missed the point entirely.

In case you missed it, Michelle Malkin has made a video parodying Michelle Obama’s and Jimmy Fallon’s viral “The Evolution Of Mom Dancing.”

No need for me to look at it; I already caught her impersonation of a cheerleader:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt_YcQlYxyY

Trust me — that was vomit-inducing enough.

But without a bit of irony, she told a gushing Sean Hannity that conservatives need to have more fun.

Really, Ms. Maglalang?

I thought conservatives had “fun” when John McCain sang “bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran.”

I thought conservatives had “fun” when George Dumbya Bush joked “those WMDs have got to be somewhere!”

I thought conservatives had “fun” when Liz Trotta confused Obama and Osama, then joked about assassinating “both, if we could.”

I thought conservatives had “fun” when Ann Coulter said that, with regard to President Clinton, “the only remaining choice is whether to impeach or assassinate.”

I thought conservatives had “fun” when Glenn Beck said he wanted to poison Nancy Pelosi’s wine.

See — that’s the problem with these neoKKKons: their idea of “fun” usually involves murder.
