Megyn Kelly Misrepresents TX Abortion Bill To Attack Wendy Davis
Despite Fox's claim that its "news" shows are "fair & balanced," Megyn Kelly's show is frequently nothing more than a conduit for alleged "news" host Kelly to promote right wing talking points and in so doing, mischaracterize the issue at hand. Such was the case, last week, when she and her anti-choice panelists, Monica Crowley and Kirsten Powers, spun the Texas abortion bill to dismiss the bill's impact on abortion access and to use the Gosnell case in order to justify the need for the legislation. Yesterday, alleged news host Martha MacCallum's pro-life panel also downplayed abortion access in order to attack Wendy Davis for her "ghoulish" opposition to the 20 week abortion. Today, Megyn Kelly stayed with the obvious anti-choice Fox script that calls for ignoring other salient parts of the bill while playing up the alleged inhumanity of late term abortions in order to attack Wendy Davis. And in attacking Ms. Davis, Kelly advanced Kirsten Power's dishonest and derogatory claim that Davis supports those nasty bitches who want to abort "healthy" late term fetuses. Oh yeah, and Gosnell was mentioned. It's all so predictable?

Greta Van Susteren, in Sanford, Florida for the George Zimmerman trial, spent more than nine minutes last night throwing softballs at Zimmerman attorney Mark O’Mara. Some of her questions included “asking” for “the best thing that happened for the defense.” The segment not only contrasted sharply with her interview with a Martin-family attorney but it lasted almost twice as long. Oh, and Van Susteren’s main concern seemed to be that the Martin family would not properly accept an acquittal. Almost as if the acquittal is a given.

Need any more proof of Fox News' pro-Zimmerman bias? Take a look at the top stories on their websites, FoxNews.com and Fox Nation. On the former, there's a pro-Zimmerman headline, "Pal testifies that Zimmerman said Martin grabbed his gun." On Fox Nation, there's a photo of a thuggish-looking Trayvon Martin with the anti-Martin headline, "Trayvon Martin's Legal Troubles Reportedly Covered Up By Police." By the way, those "legal troubles" involve graffiti and an empty marijuana bag. Neither have anything to do with Martin's behavior the night he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman.
Read moreFr. Jonathan Morris Defends Christian Tebowing Prayers On Public High School Football Field
Official Fox clergyman, Fr. Jonathan Morris is hot for Tim Tebow - but in a chaste, Catholic, and heterosexual way, of course. When Fox News was pimping the Christian right whine that the mocking of the sainted Tim Tebow's ostentatious Christianity reflects a greater "war on Christians," Fr. Morris was there to defend and slobber over his boo who, on Fox "News," attained a cult like status. And now that the evil ACLU prevailed on a Michigan public high school to ban its team from doing a mid-field, post game Tebowing, the poor little padre, a big fan of unconstitutional school prayer, isn't happy. Awww...

Those America lovers at Fox Nation have gotten into the 4th of July spirit - by "asking" if we're in a "pre-revolutionary state." The article lists a number of complaints about President Obama before concluding, "Tahrir Square anyone?" (H/T Media Matters)

During a discussion of the George Zimmerman trial tonight, one of Greta Van Susteren’s guests, a former homicide detective, raised an excellent question about George Zimmerman’s behavior the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin: why did Zimmerman really get out of his car? But Van Susteren was so quick to validate Zimmerman’s explanation (that he was looking for a street address) and then move on, she never took the time to consider the implications of Zimmerman's behavior.
Read moreMartha MacCallum Attacks Wendy Davis, "Ghoulish" Abortion Rights
As Fox News is America's "pro-life" news network, it is only fitting that alleged Fox "news" host Martha MacCallum is very upfront about her "pro-life" views which encompass the lie that Plan B induces abortion. In validating and supporting the anti-abortion movement, she is always willing to validate their talking points. Such was the case, this morning, when she and her pro-life panel attacked Texas State Senator, Wendy Davis, for her advocacy in defending a Texas women's right to a safe and legal abortion, something which will be greatly curtailed if the Texas "pro-life" bill passes - a reality that Martha & co. dismissed. But what was worse was how MacCallum just couldn't understand why abortion access is so important. Of course, if abortion is criminalized, wealthy white women like Martha, will have no problem obtaining a "procedure" from a reputable doctor while at the same time poor women, many of them minorities, will die in back alley abortions. This could happen, in Texas, if the bill passes. And Fox News thinks that there's no war on women? As the awesome Melissa Harris-Perry would say, "Wow, Seriously?!
Read moreFox & Friends Guest Says Men Treated Unfairly By Selfish Women
Move over persecuted Christians. There are some new victims in Fox town. In response to women's empowerment, a movement has emerged which seeks to empower men to put those uppity bitches in their place. The "men's rights" movement is a backlash against changing gender roles and norms which threaten traditional masculinity. So it's not surprising that Fox's morning show that champions "traditional" values would, last week, interview a female clinician who champions men's rights. Funny, when Sandra Fluke spoke out against the discriminatory practices of employers who refuse to provide contraceptive coverage, Fox talkers accused her of being a "poster child for whiny entitlement." But when a clinician advances the whine that men are a bunch of underachieving schlubs "checking out of society" because of uppity bitches, it's all good...Oh, and Brian Kilmeade is upset that men are portrayed, on TV, as idiots. Oh, the irony!
Read moreFacebook Kerfuffle Todd Starnes’ Latest Excuse To Play The Conservative Christian Victim
Poor, persecuted Christian Todd Starnes (who almost certainly makes a very nice living with despite his victimhood) has a new excuse to drum up fear and loathing against anyone slightly to the left of his views – which, by his own admission is most of America. The reason this time? Facebook temporarily removed one of his posts before reinstating it with an apology. That was all the reason Starnes needed to initiate a pity party on the curvy couch of Fox & Friends this morning.
