Did Monica Crowley Lie Or Was She Just Woefully Ignorant When She Said President Obama Has Not Negotiated With GOP In Five Years
Just before President Obama spoke from the White House on a looming government shutdown, Monica Crowley appeared on Your World for some pre-trashing of the president’s words. In an angry voice, she said, “He will not compromise, he will not negotiate. It’s my way or the highway. This is the way he’s been, Neil, for the last 5 years. Why anybody on Capitol Hill or, frankly, anybody in America expects him now to suddenly change.”

George Will has left ABC News after 32 years and joined Fox News as a contributor. Although Will's climate-change denying will help him fit right in, I've got my doubts as to how happy he'll be with a network whose Number One Job is advancing a political agenda (and pretending otherwise).

Bill O'Reilly visited The Daily Show last night. As usual, the kidding was fun and sharp but with undertones of affection. These two are always funny together and this is no exception. The subjects were Syria, the government shutdown and more.

Propaganda is heavily dependent on words and phrases intended to convey a political message. As a propaganda outlet for the GOP right, Fox News is a master manipulator of language. Hence, the more inflammatory "illegal alien" is used rather than "undocumented immigrant" in Fox's reporting on immigration. The term "abortion inducing drugs" was used by Fox commentators during their biased coverage of the HHS birth control mandate when, in reality, the ACA doesn't cover any drugs that induce abortion. Fox uses phrases to advance a narrative, with racial undertones, that those who support higher corporate taxes and responsibility want to "take" money away from hard working, taxpaying Americans. While the government shutdown will affect many programs and people, the right wing thinks it's no big deal. And that's why, in what has to take the prize for creative use of language, Fox News has coined an alternate term for the government shutdown - "SLIMDOWN."

Fox News Debunks Hannity's 'Obama Talks To Iran And Syria, Not To GOP' Talking Point While He Uses It
Sean Hannity proved last night that Republican talking points are more important to him than the news, even when it's reported by Fox. Because even as he was attacking President Obama for negotiating with Syria and Iran, but not Republicans, Fox News was reporting otherwise.
Read moreOn Hannity: Todd Starnes Exposes Creeping Sharia In National Park Service!
Who knew that the National Park Service is part of creeping Sharia. Well, thanks to the intrepid reporting of Todd Starnes, who is ever vigilant in the fight against Islamic indoctrination in the schools, we now know that OMG the National Park Service has produced videos which show young Muslim women talking about their faith. Since Starnes reported on "Sancho Panza's" (?!?) scorching expose in the aggregate website, Independent Journal Review, this outrage has gone viral in the usual dark places. So it's no surprise that Starnes would, once again, make an appearance on Hannity's dark world of racist and religious hatred in order to promote the basic Fox meme that Islam is disgusting and any attempt to show it in a positive light isn't fair & balanced. Ironic, don't ya think! Oh yeah, and Muslims should apologize for jihadist terrorism.

The winner of the Most Obnoxious Way To Cheerlead The Government Shutdown on Fox News has got to go to Fox News' Todd Starnes. In a Fox Nation headline, Starnes "asks," "Will TSA Fondle Our Private Parts if Uncle Sam Shuts Down?"

President Obama spoke for about 15 minutes today about what will happen if and when the federal government shuts down, thanks to the Republican Tea Party that would rather destroy the country than accept legitimately-passed legislation, upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, that provides health insurance for 30+ million more Americans.

The Washington Post reports that experts agree “A government shutdown would hinder the economy, waste billions of dollars in federal funds and put a scare in the markets.” But most of the talking heads on Fox News’ “business show” Bulls & Bears over the weekend (9/28/13) thought he or she knew better.
