Neil Cavuto’s One-Sided Attack On The Affordable Care Act
On yesterday’s Your World, former Congressman Bart Stupak (D-MI) defended his vote on the 2010 Affordable Care Act under a barrage of attacks and interruptions from host Neil Cavuto. Stupak stood strong but he could have tried to put Cavuto on the defensive by asking why Cavuto was ignoring or discounting the many benefits of the ACA (“ObamaCare”) to the country as a whole.

The gang on the Fox & Friends curvy couch loves Jesus but really, really hate those folks, who, due to economic circumstances, receive government benefits. Many of these people are those who are disabled, veterans, and the elderly; but, in Foxworld, these folks (read lazy, dark people) are the "takers" whom Mitt Romney spoke about and who continue to be attacked by Fox & Friends which knows that any suggestion of "welfare" plays well to their angry, white demographic. And just to make sure that the audience realizes that it's those moochers (not corporations and income inequality) who are causing the demise of this nation, this morning's Fox & Friends featured a conservative Brit to warn us that America is going the way of Europe. And this isn't the first time that Daniel Hannan has appeared on Fox & Friends. In 2011 he warned us about the dangers of multi-culturalism (read Muslims) which is another issue that plays well in the dark depths of Foxworld!

Gretchen Carlson joined Fox News’ race war on Oprah Winfrey on today's Real Story. And she turned to Rush Limbaugh, of all people, for ammunition. Ironically, Carlson proved Winfrey’s point – that some attacks on President Obama are because of his race - even while trying to vilify her as a race baiter.

Given that Fox News is the media mouthpiece for those who love Jesus and hate fags, it's not surprising that their coverage of LGBT issues is biased and inaccurate. As such, I was wondering how the Fox talkers would deal with the recent revelation of the rift between Liz Cheney, candidate for US Senate, and her sister Mary Cheney, over same sex marriage. It must be a conundrum for Fox. While it has always been unwavering in its support of former Veep Dick Cheney, who supports same sex marriage, Fox, as a quasi-conservative Christian media outlet, opposes LGBT rights while supporting the homophobic hate group The Family Research Council. Yesterday, in discussing the Cheney family feud on her program, Gretchen Carlson didn't say much; but what she said about how same sex marriage is a "lifestyle choice" (not a right) that makes "things difficult" for the Cheney family spoke volumes.
Read moreFox News' Faux ‘Obama Skipping Gettysburg Address’ Scandal
While Fox News can’t stop tsk-tsking over Oprah Winfrey saying that SOME of the attacks on President Obama stem from his race, Fox also more or less proved her right as Brian Kilmeade suggested that President Obama’s decision not to attend the commemoration of the Gettysburg Address is because of his racial resentment. Not mentioned? Almost none of the previous U.S. presidents have attended.

The right wing hates the Common Core curriculum because, you know, freedom. So it was no surprise when, last week, Fox & Friends joined the chorus of right wing praise that was given to a Tennessee high school student who spoke out against the curriculum. This morning, the sainted hero himself appeared on Fox & Friends for more Common Core bashing which is, of course, just another way to bash President Obama which is, of course, no surprise at all!

Fox Nation was so excited that President Obama got booed at a basketball game, they forgot to point out that he was mostly cheered and applauded.

Does Fox News monitor every word that comes out of Oprah Winfrey’s mouth, just waiting for something they can use to call her a racist? If not, how else to explain at least four prime time segments last night to analyze her comments to a BBC host that she thinks President Obama is disrespected because of his race? And yet her comments about how far the country has evolved on race were largely ignored.

On today’s Varney & Co., Stuart Varney discussed the lack of women executives and wondered if the company should become “politically correct” and appoint some. Notice how he just assumed the lack of women was because of lack of qualified candidates, not sexism? Then it got worse.

In David Folkenflik's excellent new book, Murdoch's World: The Last of the Old Media Empires, there's a very telling anecdote about Fox News refusing to admit a mistake and take responsibility for what was almost surely erroneous, if not downright deceitful, reporting by Geraldo Rivera from Afghanistan. Instead, Fox's PR machine let loose a flood of attacks on Folkenflik when he caught the error.
