Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has spearheaded the “Ban Bossy” campaign along with such other leaders as Condoleezza Rice and the CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA. But on Fox & Friends, phony expert Suzanne Venker portrayed it as some kind of dangerous feminist plot – to make 50% of world leaders women and 50% of households run by men. Oh, the horrors!

As the mouthpiece for the patriarchal, Christian right, Fox News does love America's patriarchy such as the Duck Dynasty guys and the Duggar tribe, both of whose patriarchs espouse a form of Christianity that represents a radical and fringe belief system. But their right wing views do endear them to Fox News whose audience longs to take their country back to the days when patriarchy ruled. The fecund Duggar family, who also have their own reality TV show, are always warmly welcomed on Fox & Friends where they endorsed Rick Santorum. On another visit, they chatted about their trip to Asia and how one of the Duggar daughters wants as many babies as God will give her. Monday, they returned, en masse, to Fox & Friends where the gushing Fox hosts promoted a new book, written by four of the Duggar daughters, in which the girls talk about saving it for Jesus. Talk about the alternate reality of Fox News....

In case you missed it, President Obama appeared on Funny Or Die’s “Between Two Ferns” mock talk show with Zach Galifianakis today. The video went viral and reportedly spiked traffic to HealthCare.gov, which was the purpose behind Obama’s appearance. So, naturally, Fox News had to go on the attack.

As the media arm of the anti-choice movement, Fox News supports efforts to take away choice from those who wish to terminate a pregnancy and, as we saw in the Fox media circus surrounding Terri Schiavo, opposes choice for those who don't want to prolong their lives by "extraordinary means." Thus, it's no surprise that Fox & Friends would take up the newest "pro-life" source of apoplexy; i.e. the new Belgian law that allows euthanasia for "terminally ill children who are close to death, experiencing 'constant and unbearable suffering' and can show a 'capacity of discernment'." Those who support the law consider it "humane." But no so for on this morning's Fox & Friends which, in its opening graphic for a "fair & balanced" discussion on the issue, described it as "legal insanity." Get the message?

Fox News psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow wins the prize for the wackiest blaming of President Obama for Russia’s invasion of Crimea. Without benefit of examining either Vladimir Putin or Barack Obama – and with lots of supposition – Ablow told FoxNews.com readers that Obama’s goal of “disempowering” the United States meshes perfectly with Putin’s aim for the same thing. Must be read to be believed.

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons visited The O’Reilly Factor last night to promote his new book about the value of meditation. And I don’t know about you but I thought it spoke volumes that O’Reilly immediately seized on Simmons’ appearance to attack black culture, black music and, specifically, Beyoncé.

Dick Cheney was tonight’s high-profile, Exploit-The-Ukraine-Crisis-To-Attack-Obama guest of the night on the Hannity show. Just yesterday, Bob Gates, the Secretary of Defense under Bush and Cheney, told Fox News that Republican attacks on President Obama should be toned down during the middle of the Ukraine crisis. But why pay attention to him, Cheney and Sean Hannity must have figured.

For Fox News, the 'Ground Zero Cross' or, as Fox calls it now, the "miracle cross" has replaced the so called "Ground Zero Mosque" as another flashpoint to be used in spreading the hateful gospel of Fox News. Whereas the Islamic Center "controversy" was used to feed the masses their daily dose of Islamophobia, the Fox generated "controversy" over this cross (two crossbeams in the 9-11 wreckage that became an object of Christian worship) is being used to reinforce the Fox message that atheists are evil and, in so doing, further create the societal division that Roger Ailes so loves. Not surprisingly, in Fox's ongoing outreach to conservative Catholics, official Fox priest Fr. Jonathan Morris, who sits at the right hand of Roger Ailes, has been brought in to defend the cross and attack those nasty atheists who, in fighting against the cross's placement in the publicly funded 9-11 museum, are trying to make things miserable for all those nice Christians who just love everybody!
