During his press conference today, President Obama called on Fox News' Ed Henry. Before completing his question, Henry said, "Merry Christmas, by the way." Do you think this was just a good wish or a gotcha question to catch President Obama on camera as a possible Christmas enemy?

Yesterday, the same folks who constantly bray about liberal (and Muslim) indoctrination in public schools provided their full support for an Oregon school teacher who espoused his virulently anti-choice, Catholic views in his public school classroom and was subsequently fired for this. His case has become a cause célèbre in the anti-choice community. Despite his history of anti-choice classroom advocacy and other behavior that was considered to be an impediment to his working relationship with students and staff, the Fox & Friends hosts ignored these details in their defense of this teacher who, according to formerly pro-choice Elisabeth Hasselbeck, was just trying to provide "balance" (!) to the evil forces of Planned Parenthood who were part of a school approved program to combat teen pregnancy. This morning, in keeping with its role as a media platform for the anti-choice movement and Christian victimhood, Fox News provided a platform for this teacher, William Diss, to receive warm support for his claim that he is being persecuted for his beliefs.

Leave it to Sarah Palin to find a way to glom some attention over the Duck Dynasty controversy. You may recall that Palin’s love of free speech was nowhere to be seen when Martin Bashir came under fire for comments he made about her. But free-speech lovers, have no fear. Palin has re-discovered and newly embraced her dedication to free speech again. Just in time to get her face on prime time Fox News.

Bill O’Reilly has a new front in the War on Christmas: two nativity scenes in Guantanamo Bay. Unfortunately for O’Reilly, he was no match for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation's Mikey Weinstein, who successfully lobbied to have them removed. Let’s just say that the segment ended with O’Reilly cutting Weinstein's mike and proclaiming that his having covered “four wars with a pen” was comparable to military service.  

In a rare moment of honesty and self-awareness, Bill O'Reilly once described himself as a "sociopath." And Bill does fit the characteristics of sociopaths who are "unable to control their behavior and their expressions of annoyance, irritability and threats when faced with situations not appealing to them" and who "often tend to resort to threats, aggression and verbal abuse." Another aspect of this anti-social disorder is the tendency to lie and as we know from observing Bill O'Reilly, lo these many years, he plays fast and loose with the truth. On a recent Factor, Bill claimed that one of his War on Christmas victories was forcing companies to rescind their order that workers not say Merry Christmas. On a recent View appearance, he said the same thing. The problem is that this is a great, big lie. It never happened except in Bill's mind.

Andrea “punch an Obama supporter in the face” Tantaros is at it again. But this time, she blew the kind of "secret Muslim" dog whistle that would surely have set her Fox News colleagues howling in protest had someone on MSNBC said something simillar about a Republican.

That Fox News is the media conduit for the radical, anti-choice forces who are waging a real war on women was demonstrated, once again, on Fox & Friends where, yesterday, they provided national exposure for the latest outrage and victimization story that is hot in anti-choice circles. The story, about a teacher who is claiming that he was fired for his pro-life views, also dovetails with the anti-choice  movement's constant vilification of Planned Parenthood which is, in turn, vilified on Fox News, especially by Bill O'Reilly. As Newshounds Ellen reported, yesterday, the rich, white O'Reilly is still accusing Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides vital healthcare to American women many of them low income and minority, of "killing babies." Fox & Friends began the day by attacking Planned Parenthood in the context of the fired teacher whom they, not surprisingly, defended as a proponent of - wait for it - "balance" in the schools.  And as is customary with the anti-choice movement and Fox News, it wasn't exactly fair & balanced.

Fox's Medical A Team member, Dr. Marc Siegel, a reliable member of Fox's right wing propaganda team, is always willing to promote right wing talking points especially with regard to health care reform about which he has misinformed and fear mongered. But I'll let you in on what appears to be a dirty little secret. Siegel was once a liberal. How liberal was he? So liberal that he wrote for that commie, leftist mag, "The Nation." Oh, nooo..... 

On Monday’s Your World, Elizabeth MacDonald and Stuart Varney pushed the myth that the Affordable Care Act is to blame for people planning to spend less this holiday season. When asked if there was a link between the two, MacDonald said, “Yeah, it appears that way.” In reality, there is no apparent connection.

“Is there a war on babies in America?” Bill O’Reilly asked as a lead-in to his “Impact Segment” tonight. In reality, the question was nothing more than a pretext for launching a war against Planned Parenthood.
